I love this "instrument". It makes it so easy to apply music theory to your playing and to create chords and scales without needing to be any good on the piano or a guitar. It makes different key signatures behave he same way. Fantastic.
Hmmm, I can't think of anything to compare it to. The action is much lighter than they keys on any laptop, which are the lightest other buttons I can think of. they go down smoothly, rather than "clicking". They have about 3mm of travel. I find it hard to play with a consistent velocity, but that's just me.
Jordan Rudess is an awesome lead "shredder." But yeah some traditional examples which demonstrates its rhythm /chordal capacity would sell this item more. It seems very esoteric at the moment.
@MustacheVerra I don't understand how it could really cost that much. I mean, it's just a bunch of plastic buttons. For about $200 less you can get a full 88 key hammer action Yamaha Motif keyboard, *with* a bunch of built in sounds and effects.
@MustacheVerra I ordered the AXiS 49 for $490 with CA tax and 2 day shipping. Btw the 49 key version has 14 rows of 7 hex-keys, so you still end up with more keys than a traditional 88 key keyboard/piano. (no mod wheel or anything on the 49 though)
It would be really helpful to see everyday music performed on the HT, like a Beatles song or another pop artist. For those, like me, who just want to play chords and melodies along to CDs.
Nice to see somebody really go to town on this instrument at last! When I've re-built & upgraded mine with weighted keys etc I'll get back into playing and recording it again...inspiring, thanks :)

Just finished watching all six of these clips. Very interesting instrument played by the master of all things MIDI.
One thing I wondered though - what are the actual keys like to play?

I hear they feel a bit like a laptop keyboard, but much lighter.

I hear it's about $1700 so I'll pass for now...
But I'm pretty sure I'll get one eventually.

@dgmulf I don't understand either.... I must have been high! lol... And I've discovered Harmony navigator since then. :D
The Yamaha Motif sounds good BTW. I'll most-likely get it before that ;)

Hi, I really like your demos and your music.
