There is that YouTube channel called danooct1. He tests all these old (some new too) viruses, so that's why i knew about Happy99, Joshi and so on.

@kullirasva Then there would be tons of viruses for Linux only. The main reason why Linux doesn't have many viruses is just because it is not popular like Windows, there wouldn't be any profit for making viruses for it.

@kullirasva Now you're talking nonsense, Linux systems does have viruses. Linux isn't immune for viruses althought it is much more secure than Windows.

@soapkin the Linux server anti-virus products are mostly for detecting the Windows viruses that pass through or are stored on Linux servers.

@kullirasva They wouldn't, because virus developers these days are like pirates on internet, as the piracy always will find a way, so will virus developers. Eventually they'd make viruses for linux systems and so on.

All I can say about virus developers, as far as they are defective to others - they are just low-life assholes.

Man I hate viruses. I've had something install itself while I wasn't looking, and when I came back to my Windows 7 computer, it wreaked havoc! I just hope that now that I use Linux, I won't have to worry about viruses. I just barely saved my PC.

Very good summary of past years. I know many of old viruses from mks_vir - Polish antivirus for DOS. It had demos (but without destructive operations) of those effects.

BTW - I think that you are not honest saying that you hope that there will be no viruses in 50 years, because there would be no place for FSecure and other companies and I think that there always will be some kind of security threat to computer users (whatever shape they are in 50 years from now).

@alchemyx Yes but security threat is not necessary from virus: This is also why more and more users are moving toward using Internet Security suite instead of single-functioned anti-virus.
