I do not intent to cut you up,however a hydraulic pump never creates pressure it creates a flow in a hydraulic circuit. Compressors generate pressure but not a pump. No grieve is taken,isn't ?
@breedist Compressors do not create pressure either>Pressure is generated by friction and resistant of load only.Please read more technical material and at least make some self study,no grieve is taking either!
@AgriSupplyHowTo What happens when a cylinder is overpowered, resulting in the cylinder being forcefully pushed down? Is the fluid forced back inside of the line or something?
@reptile202 Hopefully, your system would have a relief valve that would blow-off the pressure spike, but if it were very fast or severe, it could blow out the cylinder's seals.
A common protective measure for this is a "cushion" valve, also called a cross-over relief valve.

Interesting information. thanks for the understanding of a what a cylinder is all about. I want to build a log splitter so I am learnig all this.

How can I connect this to a pump for raising a load?
How can prevent leakages.?
How can I download this and get more information on hydraulic?

pumping is done using " GEAR PUMPS" ;
//someone asked for it

Hi Garner Dude. The pump produces the pressure and pushes the fluid through to the cylinder. Let us know if you have any more questions.

@reptile202 Basically a counter balance valve is implemented in a system with an internal and external pilot pressure ration a 1 to 10.

a question i had was how does the hydraulic oil create so much pressure to move very heavy objects? does the pressure get put on the hydraulic pump?

@breedist~ A compressor doesnt create pressure either!
RESISTANCE to flow (of a fluid) is what creates pressure.

Thanks for this video. I'm building a backhoe and have been wondering what the inside of a hydraulic cylinder looks like.
