  • every game developer i have asked says you do not need good drawing skills but you need good communication skills, so no you do not need good drawing skills.

  • I want to do this but i'm not a good drawer. Will this class teach me to help me with that also?

  • So what if your not very good at drawing?

  • @MyNamesPoli Practice Practice Practice.

  • i see you saying "no experience is necessary" but say i dont know what degree i want to get, Art or development. Im only in highschool but i want to get ready, i have ideas for games, have story and a look for the worlds i want to make, however i know i just cant jump into making a game, my math skills are low for coding, and i CAN work on my paper and pencil art if its needed for computer art, but i have a passion and i am willing to do what it takes, do you have any advice of where to look?

  • im HOPEFULLY going into this soon!! :))

  • ive always wanted to game design, but i almost have my associates in science, but i am confused because bidoe game design would not be work for me, it would be a career i would love to do for the rest of my life. How many job openings are there for game design and what classes help with this degree?

  • what skills would you recommend before entering this career?? , and which schools would you recommend me the one in Pittsburgh or the ones in California?

  • @rainvillageheroe Our programs are designed to teach you the foundational skills & then build on those skills as you progress through the program, so no experience is necessary. We don't rank our schools, all programs are built to be as close as possible to each other, given the differences in accreditation, state laws, & the needs of local businesses. You can chat w/ one of our reps to further discuss your goals & provide you with more info - just go to aii.edu and select 'chat now'!

  • I want to do game art & design and I was wondering if you have to have any experience coding, designing or using the programs ?

  • @narajiji Our programs are designed to teach students the foundational skills and then build on those skills as they progress through the program, so no experience is necessary!

  • @narajiji thats why you go to school

  • Hi im really interested in the Game Design Program

Is it recommended you take art classes before ?

Im no master of the drawing but i can put my creativity and ideas on paper

  • @pyro2020 There are drawing classes in many of our programs & as long as you are willing to learn how to draw better then we can teach you. The drawing intensive programs are broken up into drawing & illustration classes (which do require drawing) & design classes which don't necessarily require strong drawing but involve being able to apply type, images, & more to the computer.

  • @ArtInstitutes can you make it on ps3 or xbox

  • Can someone please answer my comment underneath, I would really appreciate that a lot

  • @AndyLou63 Can you tell me what location you were at? I will be happy to help pass this info along to the school for you!

  • @ArtInstitutes I called a person from the art institudes on the phone. I said no more phone calls or I will be in big trouble and asked him to cancel me, it should be okay now, I hope

  • @ArtInstitutes I called a person from the art institudes on the phone. I said no more phone calls or I will be in big trouble with my parents and asked him to cancel me, it should be okay now, I hope

  • @AndyLou63 Ok, please let me know if it doesn't get resolved and I'm happy to help.

  • @ArtInstitutes thanks

  • I have a tough problem to face, I wanted to try this out, but I already accepted myself in and my parents won't let me. So when a person on the phone called, I wanted him to cancel, but it wasn't over. Two more of the same calls came so that is making me very upset, please cancel me. My name is Andy Lou.

  • how much does this cost cause im about to be done with high school and this is my next step hopefully

  • What if you are wanting to go Game Design and you don't know ANYTHING for designing, coding, etc. Does the classes teach you how?

  • how long does it take for student to finish the study?

  • Hi @Samer208! Our Bachelor degree in Game Art & Design typically takes 3 years to complete while a student is attending full time.

  • hey i want to do this so bad... but i can't cuz its always money stopping me... They always ask me for a private lender they say i need a co-signer and nobody never wants to co-sign for me... and it hurts me man.. cuz i ve been wanting to do this since i was 18 im 22 i have a degree in liberal arts.. but vid games has always been my passion...

  • @dontsay10 co signer what does that mean?

  • @gears6515 Since the schools are very expensive. they make you take out certain loans that you will need a co-signer basically somebody that will help you with the loan.

  • who can tell me the best school fot Video Game design? please!! any help! :)

  • @DARKleprechaun4 No its the 6th best school

  • @rspectjdm Im really thinking of switching career, i am creative and im currently studing an art based course but, my drawing skills are very lame, u think that having hand drawing skills is a must for a good game art and designer?

  • hey just becoz u don't like playing videogames it doesn't mean that they will listen to u and stop making them

  • Im in high-school and I want to work with major game corporations as a 3D model designer. Is enrolling in the Game Design program at the Art Institute going to be one of the best choices for me?

  • You need to do more research. Check out Full Sail, Academy of Art, Gnomon School of Visual Effects. I don't think the Art Institute would qualify as a best choice...

  • Yeah i know. -_-

Couldn't they have shown better student work than that?

  • @alpharigger As a current student, I am, unfortunately, starting to agree with that statement more and more.

  • by the way, disregard full sail. They don't offer the quality they say they do. I tell you this by experience. Check out gnomon, vancouver film school, digipen, academy of art. In that order :)
