  • Have been looking for something like this for long time. Was going to build Freemo module with 4 turnouts on foam and almost decided to change back to plywood top. I may try this with 1/2in. plywood mounts instead of 1/8 masonite, so tortoise mounting screws don't stick out. I also replace throw rod with 0.032in wire.

  • @espeechoochoo, All of my Tortoises have a larger throw rod due to the fact all my turnouts are solid point fasttracks turnouts. As for using a larger base to hide the screws, I just took a dremmal to the screws and they will not be visible at all once scenery is down.

  • i put the real thing in play although not that type i work for anthore rail road. mostly grs model 5 and us&s model 23-a. have fun looks cool

  • Dude really man I live in ontario ca man I don't know anybody that does hobby man I been wanting to go to that train stop over there my name is Lee.

  • Also I can't find that kind of foam where can you get it at.

  • I know many people that can find the blue or pink foam in your local big box store. I am in California so I got it at foam sales and marketing in Burbank, CA

  • Great idea but do you just have foam or do you have a sheet of plywood then the 2" foam on top and if you do what do you do to cut out the plywood from the buttom.

  • Just foam, no plywood.

  • Absolutely great for free-mo modules.
