I would have to say I'm more of a Beatles person but I like,respect,admire and enjoy Elvis. I would never say a bad thing about him. However I do have doubts about the celebrity culture we all buy into one way or another. It seems to have become a sort of surrogate religion. Which like the latter can make people happy or fight. I never thought about the other question before. I do listen but sometimes I'm just waiting to talk. That's not good. I must change. Thanx for the insight. Lol

I like the Beatles music way more than Elvis music. I've never thought Elvis was one of the greatest musicians. I mean, he was good back in the day, but even as far as '50s music goes, I think Buddy Holly and Big Bopper had much more catchy music. Jut my opinion. :)

I didn't grow up with either. I've always known about both. you know watching cartoons and they say something about the beatles or Elvis. Even in cartoons today. but as I go on I am an Elvis person but I still like the beatles. and the quiet guy I am I go into the listeners category. the main thing I don't like about the beatles is the hard drugs and how lennon dated that retard Yoko. The drugs and yoko both effected the music badly. but even Elvis on drugs and fat his music stayed great!

The Beatles by a mile. Elvis fans just keep using that famous John Lennon saying. They seem to forget when the Beatles came to the states they wiped Elvis off the map. The Beatles created the more creative albums like Revolver and Abbey Road. Most modern rock bands cite the Beatles as a influence because they were songwriters and master pop musicians.

my 2 fave artists of all time... ok Elvis dint write much of his own music, bt any song he covered including The Beatles 'Something' he giv them somet extra no1 else cud. Ive heard very few songs Elvis that wernt beta than the oringinals.The Beatles wrote amazing songs... Hey Jude, A Day In The Life..pretty much all of it, bt wen it comes down to it... watchin Elvis perform Suspicious Minds, or listen to him sing songs like What Now My Love or If I Can Dream no artist can top that performance!!!

Elvis started it all, but the Beatles sort of took the 50's music and improved it. So if you like rock n roll, blues, R&B, country, gospel etc. you would like Elvis better, but if you like a bit more "advanced" rock you would like the Beatles. Or you do like me - love them both :P

However, vocally, I think Elvis had a better quality voice, especially for ballads and R&B. Paul, though, had the better range.

Think of the Beatles singing Blue Suede Shoes, and Elvis singing Hey Jude. In my opinion, the originals were better in each case.

I'm more of a beatles fan. I think they were more diverse, artistic, and talented. Most importantly, they actually wrote great music, and explored different wide areas. I don't think much of elvis as an innovator, or an artist, since he didn't write his music, but more as a performer and an inteprettor.

I love the way Quentin can sometimes just articulate exactly a simple yet profound pop culture truism. I'm a huge huge Elvis fan (99% of the time), I dig the rootsy Americana bluesy gospel thing, everything about him, but when push comes to shove and it comes to arguing whose better, I default to the Beatles for some reason, and rabidly so on occasions, it's a little strange really. Quentin got it right, you can't love both the same, it's crazy!!!!

Ok, well, I think I'm a Beetles person. Although I don't listen to either type of music a lot, if I had to choose, I'd choose Beetles. I meean, they had more music that I could picture myself singing (I think).

As to whether I listen or wait to talk: I grew up always waiting to talk. I am trying hard to become a good listener.

I dont like the Beatles or elvis that much but if I had to pick one it would be the beatles. Talking and listening is about giving and receiving. When I am anxious, I wait to talk, but when I'm relaxed, I listen... depends on the mood... but I think its important that we all listen to each other and actually hear what each are saying otherwise, we will never hear anyone but ourselves!

I would say about 90-95% of the leaders that "represent" us in gov't don't listen and wait to give their idea. Thats why we have such a polorized country with knobody listening to each other.  Thank you for the response!!!
