  • loose the battery they cause resistance in the speaker wire prohibiting good sound

  • nice nice system of a down

  • Awesome very cool....can you explain to me how you connected the wires Thoe?

  • gorillaz feel good inc FTW :)

  • haha some guys are sooo stupid like wtf batteries only fuck everything up the sound u hear is just the normal output of the mp3 hahaha

before u do anything like this again please do me a favor go to google and search what a amplifier is ok mate? cheers

  • Dont Do that you will just blow up the speaker and the ipod/mp3 ur using

  • please help me, I have a single speaker with no wires, amps or anything. just the terminals ( - ) and ( + ). and i connected it with my ipod with the AUX wires. BUT i really want to know, how do i give it a boost? sorta like adding a battery... how would i be able to attach a car battery on the circuit?

  • @ Sukosanac1993

listen i can help slightly but _might_ not be correct because of bad quality (no offense). The bad sound quality appears to be be cause the small plastic film is missing from the speaker, if you don't know what i am talking about then take the cover off of a pair of mp3 _headphones_ and u will see the small film i speak of. It amplifies sound when its covered, batteries wont sorry :P

  • @1:09 is a song from my country :P i come from belgium = voor de mensen die nederlands kunne en geen engels k kom vn belgie SUKKELSSZZ :P GREETSS

  • so wheres the "how" part??

  • Ghetto....

  • what type of wite are you useing to plug into the mp3? is it simply just headphone wire? or something diff.? plz comment back asap

  • wow if u made ur own

  • batteries DO NOTTTTTTT TRANSMIT SOUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • it may sond like that because the bottom of the speaker is pushed down !!!

  • @jokamutta no, thanksto the bad quality of the video, you can´t see that that´s the way those speakers are made

  • #1 the batteries have got to go #2 reason: your using one speaker when you have the wires for stereo sound. You have to wire just one channel to the speaker!

  • OMG!!!! i cant watch this video.....

    i feel sad for ur mp3 player....T_T

  • Hey, dude... FOR WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU NEED 3 DAYS!?! FOR PUTTING FEW WIRES TOGETHER, AND A BATERRY BETWEEN!?! And at the end, you figure it out, that the thing you spent 3 day is just destroying your Mp3...

  • WTF!!!!

  • Your destroying your Mp3...

  • you can directly attach the speaker to the mp3 player, without the batteries, i tried it with a car speaker and it work, but but you can barely hear it.

  • Its not working for me neither and I've done almost everything possible lol I'll look at some other guides too

  • batteries arent doing anything without an amp

  • can it work on phone...........(nokia X3)

  • LOL Lets all throw away power amps and buy car and truck batteries!

  • battery amplifier

  • simple take a pair of head phones and cut off the end that plugs into the ipod with about 9 inches of wire still attached and solder or connect it to the leads of the speaker ...check the connections first so you dont short it ...simply put plug and play but wait to solder

  • SOAD AND GORILLAZ!!! FTW MAN

  • what size is the spaker??

  • anyone know how to i attach speker to a microphone??

  • better don`t do this!!

    you can broke your mp3

  • i had the same mp3 player. 256 mb :P

  • BASSHUNTER!!!!!!!!

  • WOW,VERY LOUD!!! ASSHOLE!

  • Right look dude here are the things your gonna need:

    Two Electroylic Capacitors

    A download port (mp3 jack)

    A switch

    8 pin socket and chip

    9v battery snap

  • Ok what are the volt ratings and farad rating on the capacitors?

  • How can we build a small amplifier for this...

  • lol u got the batterys backwards... rofl...

anyways, just plug the freakin speaker into the mp3 player... done!

  • @masterofrunescapebot You need some way to amplify the sound... Otherwise your listening to a shit version of a earphone...

  • @masterofrunescapebot but this way is a lot funner lol

  • what you needet 3 days??

i can do that in 5 minutes lol

  • esas baterias no asen nada

  • will the batteries wired that way work as an amplifier as long as i put a resistor between it and my mp3 player?

  • Batteries don't amplify

  • plz build a amp for speaker or dont place those batteries there

  • can you show me HOW you did it?

  • don´t do this it´s going to damage your mp3 player!

  • OH MY FUCKING GOD!! disconnect the batterys!!! you burning down the output amp in your mp3 player dude!!

  • @sk7ca Batteries dont amplify

  • @warmaster5128 no shit sherlock... i'm not a total noob... -,-

  • can u plz post instructions

  • that'll fuck up your mp3

  • i wonder about the direction of two batteries . But that is awesome . I still don't know how to attach the lithi-ion bats to my DIY speaker . Without bats , the volume is small and my mp3 player is fastly out of energy .

  • a resister might be required for the mp3 player

  • The batteries are really not needed...

  • the battery does nothing

  • 3 days to get it done? what did you do? worked 56 seconds every day?

  • never do that! the batteries can olverload the iüpod!do this without batteries!they are making no sence

  • I know how! : Just buy X-mini -_-

  • thats a pretty good video check out mine its the same thing but it shows you how to make something like this

  • Comment removed

  • system of a down WOO! i love chic n stu

  • numb nuts i could get that done in 1 minute not 3 dayz and im only ten.

  • i really need to get sound happening any where i go with my ipod touch it has no built in speaker so this was a little help thanks

  • DON'T ever do that ! It has no amplification effect , and it could damage your mp3 player.

  • dude just get a car with a system!!!

  • Dude, just get an Altec Lansing IM207 Speaker For $15 At Wal-Mart! It's Way Better!

  • just get an LM386 amp kit and mount it in an altoids tin.

  • all speakers run off AC does'nt matter if you put betteries in series with it your wasting your time

  • put a 220uF cap on the terminals of the speaker and it possibly could work

    just a theory lol

  • best to use the 9.6v rechargable rc battery packs too

most of the speakers are 12v for pcs

wont die as fast eaither and if it does saves money

  • u dont need the batteries...itll sound the same without them .... u would need som sort of mini amplifier if u want it to be louder

  • is that a zvue?

    DEATH TO ZVUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that's a tom-tec, later bought by Sweex

  • you're gheting all most 3V to the out-put of the mp3. That can easly burn some condenser.

  • lulz you use batteries

  • BATTERIES FOR WHAT?

    fucking retard -.-

at least they are'nt amplifying the speeker.. just leading the signals to the element...

even small signals from mp3's and such, is enough to get some sound out of a speaker -.-

    moooroooon

  • it would be constantly sending 1.5v up in to the speaker so technically it does amplify, not the sound but the initial elevation of the speaker, like reseting its zero position. then sending an additional 1.5v, were up to 3 now, back into the mp3 player, which over time will burn it out. Oh and driving speakers that big drain your batteries much faster. which is why headphones are made the way they are (plastic cone element), they use less power.

  • well.. at least you've got the skilzz to keep explaning your fail... in the end you'll simply burn the speaker through pressing the cone that hard with the wrong signals..

    find a new hobby (Y)

  • lol!!! why the hell are their batteries?!

  • also, it would help the sound tremendously if the speaker were in an enclosure

  • check the specs of the speaker, then learn about parallel and series wiring. use what you've learned to figure out a new way to make it work.

  • you dont need batterys! speakers work on SOUND

  • omfg thats genius. the batteries inbetween. fuck i love you <3

  • :P mono?

  • ofcourse it's mono!

  • Waste, I have head sets that are loud enough to fill a whole room if everyone is quiet (small room). plus you can just buy some tiny speakers for like 5$. The best thing is though if you attach it to a guitar amp and crank it up really loud. (sounds awesome)

  • I think it was pretty cool, but don't you need a special adapter for an amp?

  • Yeah you do but it's cheap to buy from radioshack...

  • Oh my fucking god. Nobody do this. This project does nothing, could damage your ipod and is a waste of time. Batteries do not amplify.

Zenodilidon is the only person here who has some sense. Don't listen to any of the other suggestions. They'r pointless.

If you wanna amplify your ipod, take the small amplifier out of a set of shitty computer speakers or something.

Hell, leave the speakers together and hey, presto! Amplification!

  • thare in no ampla fa caton eny way. it dont woork like that. you need a small amp.

  • Actually, yes there is amplification in small computer speakers. About a half watt, I believe. You can tell because it requires an external power source. In most cases, 240V from the wall.

  • all the batrys would do is make the speaker pop in of pop out a litle bite more.

  • The batteries do nothing except create resistance They do not help amplification in any way. That is final. No point in the batteries being there. They don't help. They hinder. I cannot understand why people can't see this.

  • You can also get an extension for your iPod (it's like a case with speakers

  • I know cas I got one. but i use mine for a cd player

  • woohoo u found a good way to get electricuted lol

  • Whats the song at 1:10-1:38? Oh and Lol @ this project, why did you add batteries? xD

  • I think that that song is called "Boten Anna", a dutch song. :P

  • no offense but letting music passes through batteries does not amplify your music.they are just the same

  • WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?! this is very pointless.

    get an AMPLIFIER!

  • Very low quality speaker...

Nice effort, but you could try putting the circuit through a capacitor.

  • Battery Amps? Your going to have a LOT of Audiophiles on your case. :P terrible quality sound, and 3 days!? DUDE! That's fucking SAD. it took me 3 minutes to get a speaker hooked up to my freaking tv!

Sorry, but i'd scrap this project if I we're you.

  • Why so you have batteries? a speaker works on AC power feed, adding a DC source as you have done is pointless. it has to do with the Audio sine wave that and what you have is feeding a good 3 volt current through the Audio subjuction without a diode bridge this project would cook 80% of MP3 players Check out my vids for atmospheric ampliciation.

  • I have a speaker and I conneceted it to batteries. The speaker works but the headphone jack does no transmit the music.

    Wat to do???

  • These are the possible problems you are having:

    -The wire is damaged

-The wire does not make good contact with the bateries

  • - The person who invented this project doesn't know what they are doing...

  • hey dat heb ik ook al eens gedaan maar het werkte niet :(

    mischien waren mn batterijen leeg.

  • vav

  • i wonder if i can do this on my mp3 player with portable speakers without the batteries(power right off of the player)just not sure if its gonna be loud enough w/out the batteries?

  • I wouldn't do this, exept if you have a mp3player with a high-power battery. Read the notes on the right side...

  • accually wad is the battery for?

the 2 contact points does'nt touch each other

besides the mp3 or any other object that play music generates a current which is not stable like suddent change of -/+(negative/posative) to generate diffrent magnetic field and repele or atract the permenent magnet in the speakers.....by doing that (suddent change of current) wont it short out the batteries or risk of explosion?

  • Nope, there isn't any risk of short out or explosion, because the signal goes 1 way and doesn't change +/-. You gave me a lot to think about tho xD ;)

  • Audio signals go 2 ways... study your NPN-PNP amplification. Its AC

  • im thinking about doing something like this with portable speakers meant for mp3 player. But the speakers run off of 4 AAA's so i want to ditch the batteries and hardwire to earphone jack, just not sure if its gonna be loud enough?
