i got my 3.0 free from itunes...i plugged my ipod in my computer and it just asked to update. i didnt pay a cent. i wonder why? i have a 1g ipod touch and i have itunes 8.2 on mac leopard.

I will be getting a jailbroken 2G iphone with 2.2.1 firmware soon. I read somewhere that firmware 3.0 is very slow. That said, I got some questions:

- Is it worth installing?

- Is it better than 2.2.1?

- Should I install the jailbroken 3.0 beta?

I'm waiting until it is actually released, mostly because it is so slow and buggy at the moment. When it is released, they will have fixed most of the problems people had with the beta.
