  • Comment removed

  • horible idea just take it fully apart more time consuming but safer

  • Yes, it was a Yukon Gold....

  • this was recorded by a calculator?

  • was this recorded with a potato?

  • i broke my touch screen doing this Damn -.-"

  • was that recorded in 1560 or 1561?

  • Recorded with a pencil case.

  • i did this, and it broke my top 2 sensors, so now its hard to press stuff at the top of the screen

  • Yeah !!! i managed to clean it. if u broke the screen u are a fucking n00b, if u try with a credit card or something soft that wont compromise the screen too much, u can successfully clean it ! mine looks shiny and cool ;)

  • I broke my touchscreen too.. DAMN... DO NOT DO THIS..!!! This is too risky.

  • IQ Test: Broken screen = You failed! We have so many laws and safety measures in place that idiots are surviving well beyond when they would have done themselves in a free and unfettered world. Idiots are propagating and degrading the aggregate intelligence level in this country at an exponential growth rate. Put another way, the Darwinian thinning of the herd has been interfered with and morons are way too common. Sadly, you fall into this category. I weep for the future....

  • i broke my screen trying to do this... fu

  • sorry , but this work on storm 2/9550 right ?

    and thanks

  • thank you thank you very very much , but GET A 720P VIDEO NEXT TIME!

  • NERDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • ITS THE GUY FROM EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND!!!!!!

  • You cracked your screen and I'm the dip ship. HA HA HA..... And you are STILL using a Blackberry Storm. HA HA HA!!! What a dip ship!!!

These instructions were for people with at least normal intelligence. Consider it a test. You failed... HA HA HA!

  • @hgriffin5 you failed at spelling dip shit, dip shit.

  • @DavesChillaxin - don't be an ass whole.... (spelling correction courtesy of my Droid X2 keyboard software)

  • I cracked my screen you dip shit!

  • @SceneKidsInAmerica1 i did too

  • @leocrazy0987 I lost my phone for dropping it once and (ON CARPET!) and my screen was covered in cracks

  • @SceneKidsInAmerica1 yeah the screens are really weak

  • is that kipkay??

  • @SuperFrankieLampard2 no its ray ramano

  • Fail lol my cuzin broke his bb doing this shit lol i don't let a bit of dust bother me lol i rather have that than have to buy a new phone or a new screen haha

  • when i lifted mine i ripped the electric connection and cracked the screen so be either very careful or be prepared to have to buy a new screen

  • Warning: Don't use this video if your main writing instrument is a crayon...

  • Pay attension ....

This guy didnt warn that there are two layer of glass so they should be lift together......if external is lifted then it will be cracked...so lift them together....I also cracked my screen..

  • guys do not try this, especcially if your just "curious" 'cause most likely YOU WILL pop the whole screen off and your bb is done. take it from me i just got mine repaired today, it wasnt cheap. If anything let a proffesional do it if you really want it clean.

  • Just cracked my screen...

  • THATS SO DUMB! every time you do that the seal gets less sticking and sooner or later your screen wont stay on!

  • THATS SO DUMB! every time you do that the seal gets less sticking and sooner or later your screen wont stay on!

  • Does this happen often? Mine seemed to be glued down, and didn't get dust until the seal was compromised.

  • lolz. just cracked my screen, perfect.

  • Do not try to do this if you want your phone survive

  • Now you need to buy me a new screen because it's broken. Dman it

  • can a do this with screwdriver?

  • THANK YOU. I've had a bit of dirt stuck under the screen since I bought the phone - it made it look like a dead pixel from straight on. I didn't realise you could pop the front off like this. Now my screen looks brand new again. Thanks !! :)

  • hi emm.. my storm 9500's four buttons at the bottom (call, escape and menu) are no longer that easy to press. I need to press harder in order to work it. I figure there is too much dust trapped underneath, can you show any way to clean it?? Thanks

  • Very Blurred ... you should have filmed this with a camera that could focus

  • I LOVE YOU MAN!

  • thanks worked like a charm

  • thank ass - i just broke my phone tryen this

  • @mccabe975 The technique is fine. Brute force and ignorance don't have a place though.

  • @mccabe975 me too!

  • This is just dangerous man!!!

  • Yes! Man, the dust under my screen was driving me crazy. I couldn't see the center of the screen in sunlight.... but this completely worked. Thanks man!!!

  • perfect couldnt have worked better!!!!

  • THANK YOU FOR THIS! That worked flawlessly, I used a credit card. I had been to the Crackberry forums for the answer and as usual it was a long list of people just saying they had the same problem- no solutions. Its handy to have canned air at the ready as well ;-)

  • Use rubber gloves to avoid finger prints. Use a pick or plastic cell phone opener tools. a fast and sure way to get the dust out is to use a 'Air pressure Dust cleaner can", it does a professional job and you will be happy! Recondition the sticky glue that seals the glass with alcohol using a good quality microfiber fine cloth....

  • There is a very delicate ribbon cable at the bottom. It would break and the screen would be junk! That's why you should slide a cloth under the glass to clean it and not try to open the cover any further than I show in the video.....

  • Comment removed

  • The connection on the bottom of the screen will most likely become damaged. Don't do it....

  • @hgriffin5 what would happen? Like would the screen just break

  • What happens if you pull the screen up all the way?

  • thx for the info, but what I'll do is get the phone to the dealer or service center and get it fixed. if they crack it, they're in trouble..

  • Thanks Dude! It worked like a charm. My phone is finally (mostly) dust free. I can actually see my screen.

  • its dosent work

  • He sounds like that guy from Seinfield.

  • dont do it .. my screen cracked and now my touch screen dosent work. any one know where i can get a new screen?

  • dont do it.i cracked the diitizer.now im replacing the screen and digitizer tommorow when the part comes in from china.DONT DO IT..THE ONLY REASON I DID IT WAS BECAUSE I HAD BUBBLES IN MY SCREEN ANYWAYS.

  • i did it to my phone 2 did it mess up your touch screen 2?

  • thanks for the info, I just did it too with a SIM card and a clinex and some screen cleaning fluid.

But be careful not to pull the whole thing from the button.

  • Just did it and it worked great! I will keep my fingers crossed it the touch screen will not die soon!

  • Hey, let me know if your phone stays alive by next week!

  • The key to this procedure is NOT opening the glass screen anymore than I show in the video. There is a delicate electrical connector ribbon on the bottom. You don't want to put any strain on that ribbon connector. Only open the glass enough to get a cleaning cloth in. I would refrain from trying to get the cloth too far towards the bottom. I have cleaned my Storm 4 times and it still works fine. Make sure the cloth is very clean. You don't want to introduce any dust.....

  • plz help me ..middle part of my screan not sensing..unresonsive..i did trox fix..but still have the problem..plz

  • lol do not do this there is a very thin layer of clue that ataches the touch screen the the other screen wich keeps dust out that screen he pulled back is NOT supose to come off they got clue in it to keep the dust out only problem i have if removing dust in little crack

  • That's great! I had a dead bug under mine... was driving me NUTS.

  • a dead bug?? i have a shit load of dust under mine..

  • How the fuck...lmao

  • I HAVE to do this.. dry water spots under.. wish me luck..

  • i tried it and it broke my storm i just boght it from verizon and i did it and then my touch screen died

  • wow! this actually works! ive been readin forums everywhere and no one had a solution and i checked this out, did it, and now my screens good as new in a few seconds! thanks!

  • I did this and it worked great for a few hours then my touch screen went dead. Luckily I had insurance.

Just a warning. Be very careful when you do this!

  • I believe the part is both the LCD and the cover together.

  • yea im thinking the same!!thanks for the help!!

  • i broke my screen on my storm..i was wondering can i buy the outer glass for the strom..and if so were?

  • Do a google search for Blackberry Storm replacement screen. There are quite a few vendors. Stocking them is usually the issue. Most of the cheaper prices are for people who "direct ship". They don't physically stock the screen. Wait for an order and have the screen "drop shipped" from the distributor. This is ok if you aren't in a hurry, which you probably are.

  • ive done some research but i need to know is it just a screen or are there two layers like one on the cover and then the lcd screen underneath that

  • The adhesive Mylar membrane used to seal the glass panel to the LCD is designed to be a one shot deal. Once the glass is lifted, the Mylar membrane cannot maintain a tight seal and should be replaced. Ironically, removing the dust from behind the glass panel only exacerbates the problem. The best way to avoid dust build up is to not place the phone in your pocket. That's what a case is for.

  • It's not for everyone....

  • Comment removed

  • No offense, but this is a lousy way to remove dust. Not only will you risk damaging the digitizer, you can also crack the glass panel. If dust bothers you that much, get an iPhone, or any capacitive touch screen phone, where the glass is sealed.

  • i agree, besides, i'd be to dame scared i might mess up my storm anyway, " Soo not doing this, i'll just use a can of Air"..thanks 4 the tip

  • The iPhone gets dust between its screen as well.

  • After working at it I was finally able to remove the glass screen and it worked! I was very careful which made it harder to clean the middle/lower part of the screen but it looks so much better than it used to.

  • I tried this and it worked but i wouldn't do it to often. The seal will eventually wear on you and it will stop to stick eventually.

  • Comment removed

  • Excellent - worked just like you demonstrate - Thanks for the tip!

  • works great. had the dust on there for so long now, and could not figure it out. Thank You very much.

  • great video but, shouldn't have to do in the first place.

  • horrible advice, the screen cracks at the slightest nudge, if i dont get a new screen thru insurance, FML

  • Works well. There is no chance of breaking anything if you simply take your time breaking the adhesive. The Storm shown in this video has more than likely had the cover removed before, so expect it to be a little less cooperative when you try it at home.

  • i can't get the screen to pop off

  • Hopefully you are trying at the top of the BB. A corner is a good place to start. I like to use a guitar pick because the edge is beveled and it's easy to "feel" where the glass/screen seam is. Guitar picks are cheap and easy to find. Also, you don't want to open the cover glass very far. Only enough to be able to get the cleaning cloth between the glass and screen. If you open it too far you could damage the electrical connector at the bottom. If you are unsure.... don't attempt it.....

  • great tip

  • wouldnt dare do that to my storm

  • awesome! I always have a guitar pick & lens cloth with me so this works great and super simple thanks for the video!

  • No ill effects...in fact, the screen has remained clean for going on a month... The alcohol should be used very sparingly. You are just trying to remove dust on the surface of the adhesive... Not the adhesive itself...

  • would using rubbing alcohol clean the adhesive sides just as well? also any ill effects since doing this?

  • lmao sounds like Ray Romano

  • ur voice is like in that tv show... everybody loves raymond :P,

    anyways thanks for the tip

  • thanks for the tip butt is there any thing else i can use to open the screen because i don't have a guitar pic?? also a little better quality wouldn't help no offense :)

  • You can use a credit card as well. As long as it's plastic, you are less likely to cause damage.
