I just want to say that I still voted for Fred Thompson after he left the campaign trail. Ronald Reagan ran in 1976 against Ford for the GOP nomination and lost. Can we see history repeat itself in 2012? I hope so.
My state is one of the last to vote in the Republican primary so we never get a say in the presidential nomination, but I have to say that we as a party really missed the boat by not nominating Thompson or Romney. And we're certainly paying for it now.

Why is the press so focused on South Carolina when it has 25% less delegates to give out than does Nevada? I don't understand what you are talking about, the definition of liberalism is putting the power into the people's hands and taking it out of the government's. I dont care about what Hilary or Barrrack want, I don't consider anyone that is running to be a good leader. Having said that, I do have a few conservative beliefs, 2nd amendement, no outsourcing, and there are a few more, so don't count me out, and say that I am only following the crowd.

I dont view terrorists as innocent people, they are criminals and if convicted should be sent to prison for life. The problem is some of the people sent to GITMO were not terrorists. The American military paid afghan fighters to round up "terrorists" they detained many innocent people aswell.
If there is clear evidence against someone then they should surely be convicted, you might even get a few executed.

Ooops, gotta say, it would have to be the other way around, though McCain isn't my first choice for VP. Those two are diametricly opposed when it comes to illegal immigration. Not seeing that as a good fit. Though I use to believe Fred would ask John to be his runningmate, not so sure anymore.

Please help me understand this! Why does the press say there is no real clear front runner when Romney has the most delegates? Why is the press so focused on South Carolina when it has 25% less delegates to give out than does Nevada? It seems to me the Romney is the only one that understand that the person with the most delegate votes wins. What is going on?

mkm - why? Because at present, the press (mostly comprised of Democratic shills) is campaigning for McCain and Huckabee.
McCain is the Republican liberals believe they can live with. If he runs in the fall, it really doesn't matter who wins. It's a win-win situation for the left.
Huckabee, they view as an "easy kill". If he is nominated, they believe they can defeat him easily. And they are probably right.

McCain is a unique candidate that has moderate appeal. He is conservative, but highly bipartisan. I consider that a good thing.
Why would we vote for someone who has trouble reaching across the aisle? Look how far it has gotten Bush...

A good thing? On the contrary. Most conservative Republicans view McCain as an open borders, anti-first amendment, high taxation liberal - the worst RINO in the Washington herd. If he wins the GOP nomination, it is likely that large numbers of conservatives will just sit out the next election - ensuring a Democratic victory.
