  • Good driving. Front end grip looked off and on as well over the damp patches. Whoever said stop driving it like a granny, get real.

  • is this video for a payed track day 99 GBP ? I would like to buy one for a friend is it good ?

  • The atom is an absolute maniac when you unleash it why are you drving like a granny! Yes your driving like a sensible person but anyone who owns an atom has to be a complete mad man so act like a atom owner and get it even more on them straights!

  • nice driving man!!!

  • driver needs to smoothen his driving style and lap times will drop! to much aggression on his inital turn in to the corners.

only hit a few cones so well done lol!

good to see he is not scared of the throttle though these cars are very intimidating!

    AVIT!

  • Air freshener XD

  • I love this car but think it could still be improved with 4 wheel drive, extra wide tires, and more power

  • ye right pal!

Next step up from this is an Indy car!!

  • nice driving. you rule

  • Just did this today and the LP640 OMG what a buzz

  • Top Driving mate..I'm off to book a trackday at Elvington...

  • is that your car mate?

    :)

  • Great vid, thanks, what I would do for a passenger ride in that car!

  • Yellow Airfreshner=LOL

  • Comment removed

  • No its not - look above the passenger's feet

  • @hotneo7 very colour co-ordinated

  • what a superchargersound.

...sorry but im getting a hard on. :)

  • same hard one here ;)

  • thanks for sharing this vid, very exciting and great car control. well done for taking the youtube-schumachers comments with good humour, they must be annoying, i'd love to see them try to handle that car without making lots of pretty circles into the distance

  • Correct on that one, in fact I did a few years in a rally car, before that a fair amount of karting so thought I wasn't too shabby but pushing the atom especially when cold and damp took some doing. If people think they can drive on here then they havn't driven anything other than a saloon car that is very easy to drive... I let a few very competent drivers in the Atom, and all of them struggled, mainly with mid corner torque, and all span several times, it not easy and A LOT fast than it looks

  • looks pretty goddamn fast to me! Awesome, i'm jealous as hell.

  • Is the Atom anything like driving a F3000 race car? as I have driven one at the thruxton racing circuit, which resorted in a huge smile all day.

  • @dazzassti anytime you need somebody to ride with give me a call, i would be more than happy to ride around in that car.

  • @biz360 check out teamavit video same car same track but view is a little easyer to see

  • your driving is brilliant bud!

  • airfields often have very bump surfaces. excluding the straight semi used runways. usually the taxi lanes are terrible.

Making it a bump ride and veryloose on the power wheels and they loose traction. (a hard fact about braking too, tight suspesnsion on bumpy roads is a recipe for disaster.

but you gota love the atom. it is a true f1 car for the road.

  • youtube experts... jesus -_-

  • Yep funny they are... Atom on cold rubber, 320bhp and me really pushing it makes for interesting driving... I'm smooth in a kart;-) but the back end was simply too loose to be smooth. watch the vid and its letting go everywhere, not fast but fun, although did take same holding onto! remember its as quick as an R1 so even a bit of pedal makes it very quick!

  • you don't even have to justify yourself man !

however, the only thing I didn't like with your driving is that well... you didn't keep the car sideways long enough ;D

  • :-)... thats becouse the atom is very tricky to drift... took me alot of practice, and i've spent a few years in a rally car! the suspension isn't setup to do it so it tends to snap back in line unlike a road car thats relativly easy once your comfortable drifting. infact i wasn't a fan of the Atoms handling. too twitchy TBH.

  • Another fine product from merry old England!

  • Most of the people complaining about driving skills on youtube don't even have a license. You can be sure they don't own a car. And of course they have never driven something as fast as the atom. Most probably never will.

  • how would you know if thy have a license or not. you dont.

  • Do you think that Lewis Hamilton handles a car that poorly, sawing at the wheel, wrong lines. early / late apexes etc. This driver is not a skilled performance driver, he just has money to buy the car. My advice, get some professional tuition.

  • you can see when the guy accelerates hes not used to how well it turns so he ends up jerking the steering wheel around

  • You can't tell from watching a vid bolted to the chassis what the cars doing... get in something very quick and no grip and thats the effect. every twitch was to correct the rear stepping out, even in the what look like slow corners the rear was sliding... I've had a few podiums in the rally car and spent a few years karting so more than happy with me driving thanks ;-) of course youtube drivers now best though .. hehe :-)

  • Nice driving and an awesome car. Don't mind the morons on youtube...half of then are under the age if 15 and the majority of those probably haven't gone through puberty yet. The other half are the live in the parents house till death types who know a little about everything when in reality they know absolutely nothing.

  • lol yeah you can tell the back end is getting away from him. that track does look rough too. get it wet and have some fun with it.

  • how the hell can u people talk and say how bad the driving is, u lot are probly better, i no am not.

  • Who cares if the driver isen't perfect, that looks like fun!! i want to get one around Le Circuit Mont Tremblant, apparently you can rent them for a day or weekend. I wonder how much it would cost to import one to Canada in left hand drive?..

  • They sell them here in the US. so they do make left hand drive models.

  • lol at the air freshener!

  • Probably there to help rid the car from when people shit themselves on a dodgy corner lol

  • @edmellor true that LOL

  • Sorry, but thats a TERRIBLE driver. Smoother inputs needed badly. Hes jerky as hell.

  • It looks it from the vid but in fact is was deliberatly pushing the car. the tyres were shot thought i'd have some fun!result was rear contantly steping out under power and me quickly correcting it. Listen and you'll here the charger whining half way round each corner. Spent alot of time karting, bored with being smooth! If you can push a car to the limit better post a vid ;-)your right though smooth is always faster, just less exiting, I'd never win anything driving like that...

  • well said mate

  • What the hell does that air freshner help??? LOL!!

  • ahhahaha well spotted =D

  • The passenger looks like they are hanging on for dear life! Love the air freshener! I with the camera was pointed better!

  • Last summer I had a chance to get on with Ariel to track. The car was my friends. Holy crap that was faaast, the supercharger whistlet behind my back. That was just amazing.

  • I learnt to drive on Elvington Airfield in a Ford Anglia about 35 years ago. Not only did I manage to get it on 2 wheels but the exhaust manifold was glowing white at the end of the day.

Anyway - great driving and thanks for the white-knuckle ride.

I love the air-freshener on the passenger side - I can imagine it would get a bit stinky after a drive like this.

  • nice car, i want one of those!!! prbly will never happen tho:'( i wunder how it would do aginst a mclaren F1, thats sumthn id like to see

  • It has the steering response of a go-kart... brilliant car!

  • fuckin hell, what a beast :O

  • 8:15 Friggin' passed on the outside!

  • 8:16 Astra tapped indecator off cam ;-) 8:18 I waved thanks :-)

  • Man, that's good stuff. Very nice car (if you can call it that.)

  • Hey it's got 4 wheels and half a body whaddya want.

Nice driving dazz! :) How much for the American car?

  • I've looked 'em up. They run about $70,000.

  • meh, less if you dont go all out... i think the GM motor is crap, i'd wait and pay extra for that K series

  • it dont use a GM motor, it uses a supercharged v-tech from a honda civic type R. it put out 300hp. and can do 0-60 in 2.9seconds. i think thats far from crap

  • in the US, Brammo Motorsports used the ecotec engine from GM, same power, but GM, so it's not got my trust for it's reliability. They charge extra for that supercharged K20 from Honda, but it'd be worth it to me, have more power increasing options, though you'd have to be VERY careful with any power increase.

  • I assume its the turbocharged honda vtec engine from the type R? Great engine great car, those things are as quick as an enzo around the track!

  • you assume?

  • its quicker than a enzo, and its supercharged not turbocharged

  • buah!! q gustazo llevar uno d esos :P

  • Like the MagicTree airfresher? :) Sense of humour huh.

  • Bumpy ride, but thats to be expected. wow to think anyone can purchase what realy is a formula series race car and drive on the roads everyday. IF i can fit my fat butt in one, put me on the buyers list.

  • Dazz nice driving and sweet ride recon you could spare a few pennys and buy me one?:-) lol joking

  • I just love the noise of that Suopercharger whining up! And everyone stop ripping dazz off about his driving. Love the power this car produces absolutly amazing! I would rather this over a Ferrari or a Porsche anyday! GO ARIEL ATOMS!!!

  • the over stear makes it much more fun! that was freaking awesome.. great driving..

  • hmmm the car oversteers a lot!! U should had a back wing!!

  • Your right, but its more fun without downforce, if not a little lairy at time, top corner the rear was sliding under power at 100mph hence the big twitches.

  • what are the red lights on the steering wheel?

awsome vid, great driving thx for posting

    5stars

  • Shift lights, green is around 5,000rpm orange 6k 7k red flashing is the shift point, if you look i wasn't really pushing it to 8k rpm did a couple of times but that was when i had wheelspin... Oh and the camera had moved due to the wind blast, shame. sorted a better bracket now :-) Ta for the comments, glad you enjoyed the vid... good fun for any enthusiast!

  • Amazing, wonderful noise, stupendous car design, very competent driving, shows speed differentials really well! One wee complaint - for the next time (and I hope there is), could you hitch up the camera by a few inches so that the horizon comes more into action so that the sheer speed is made even more obvious? Thanks for the posting.

  • Outstanding... thanks for posting!!!

  • Damn, those corners & cars keep coming up fast! That air freshener is holding onto dear life!

  • hey dazz don't let any of the idiots say you can't drive cos they are only green with envy...like me ..looks like you were having alot of fun...good job

  • damn i never tire of seeing an atom blast past other cars at the speed it does...mee want one..if i sell the house, the wife and the kids..i might get one...

  • I did mate :-0 well the wife!

    only kidding :-)

  • OMG! i'm jealous..how much this atom cost u?

i wanna get one too..but not financially stable yet..haha...i can hear the supercharger screammssss!!!! i guess u put wings on it..it could fly!! lol

  • 39k :-0 alot but nothing turns heads like it does... and it goes like £"%^ :-)

  • yeah i know..i think people can keep thier lambo's and ferraris at the money they cost...gimme an atom anyday....if you need a ferrari to pull a bird then thats sad lol cos i got a wife already so my pullin days are long gone

  • that car looks like it's a blast to drive!

  • The lines are decent, but the driver's gripping the wheel like a wrestler. That robs you of very valuable feedback. He's also pushing the Atom a little too much into slides and then panicking slightly, leading to a lot of on-off throttle work. Progressive inputs, smoothness and probably greater focus on the vanishing point. Certainly not bad driving though; this is a pretty good overall standard.

  • Good assesment of the driving, someone with some knowledge for once on youtube...:-) although I deliberatly was pushing the car and provoking it on the day, I could have been smooth and quicker but i was purposefuly beeing v-early on the gas everywhere in order to gauge the cars responce, a sort of grabbed by the scruff run... fun though

  • Would have been good if he had the slightest idea how to drive.

  • ;-) Next time you sit next to me mate bring a nappy :-)

  • Dazzasti, Most excellent driving.. whoever it was! Loved watching the rev/shift light in relation to his/her driving. That's a fun circuit.. pay your entry 'n hammer away..! (prefer Thruxton or Castle Combe, but £165 now a day!)

  • this soo fun! tis will kick any cars arse!

  • If look how bumpy it is and it being a damp cold track, trying to put that cars power down without sliding is near impossible...fair fuckin' play to the driver. Looks like hours of fun!! Proper workout tho! LOL

  • loved what you did to the german rivals mate!hehe

  • The car has no anti-lock brakes, nor traction control. It's a bare-minimum car, and it totally owns.

  • bizarrrracing

  • dude ur all over the place :S

  • I just found out about this car and I'm loving it already.

  • Nice vid, I definitely enjoyed the ride...thanks

  • I respect anyone that can handle that car!

  • nice car, crappy driver though

  • What a cock, obviously NO idea what your talking about, muppet!

  • anywayz

  • DAMN!
