The Christian church has maintaned a "policy" for a lack of a better word, to integrate religious practices of those peoples who have converted to Christianity and encourage greater conversion. Early Christians did actively seek to convert pagans - that is what I have understood. Its intention was to spread Christianity, not suffocate as you said, another culture. However, I understand both points of view.
It would be great, if Christian Church would be so benign as you think. But it isn't. The other religions were seen as worship of devil, evil, something that must be eradicated. Also Christians who started to think differently, became the enemies of the Church, and they had to be killed. I'll give you an example. Finnish pagan sky god was called Perkele and Piru. The Christian church changed the meaning to devil - as they saw worshipping the pagan god as worshipping the devil.

Belief in god is a matter of faith. Its freewill that everyone make their own choices. I am happy with my faith, and I try to live up to as much as I can. The Christian church has maintaned a "policy" for a lack of a better word, to integrate religious practices of those peoples who have converted to Christianity and encourage greater conversion. Early Christians did actively seek to convert pagans - that is what I have understood. Its intention was to spread Christianity, not suffocate as you said, another culture. However, I understand both points of view.

It would be great, if Christian Church would be so benign as you think. But it isn't. The other religions were seen as worship of devil, evil, something that must be eradicated. Also Christians who started to think differently, became the enemies of the Church, and they had to be killed. I'll give you an example. Finnish pagan sky god was called Perkele and Piru. The Christian church changed the meaning to devil - as they saw worshipping the pagan god as worshipping the devil.

I am sure there have been more theological and tactical church errors in 2,000 years. The humans that try to conduct the affairs of the church do the best they can in the century they live. Pope John Paul II, in this regard, has expressed appropriate feelings to some of these issues.

To admit the right of others to their own faiths (or not having a faith) and their ways of life. To embrace the idea of equality. To save time, I'm saying the Pope's act is more evil. Both the pagan and the pope may kill for religious reasons, to please their god. Or both may do it to gain more power. But the difference is in scale, in numbers, in suffering and devastation. Belief in god is a matter of faith. Its freewill that everyone make their own choices. I am happy with my faith, and I try to live up to as much as I can. Taking care of the earth is in harmony with those who have faith in god as it is viewed as part of his creation. Believing the earth IS god is not a faith I believe in.

My suspicion is these Wikileaks files on a major bank (seems to be Bank of America) will be used in one of two ways, or perhaps both. One, it could be used to justify all the trillions in banker bailouts and the general criminality in the banking and financial sector. Two, it could be used as part of a larger ploy to implode the banks further, resulting in more bailouts, more concentration of power in the banking world, or something else that benefits the elites.

And that's the problem with inventive translators. King James version doesn't matter. It's not supposed to be "Lucifer" with capital L. In the Latin version, it's "lucifer". It's not a name. It means "shining". "Shining","son of the morning" are metaphors. And the whole segment is a satire on a tyrant.
You cannot claim that shining is a name of the Devil from this. Like you can't claim that "son of the morning" is the Devil.
