The song is about unrequited love. Many people have a fish like pet.. The owner can like it, till love it. But fishes are very simple/primitive/"cold" animals. They don't seem to be capable of having affection with their owners, this is, they don't reward the owner's "love". In short, the fish, in the video, is a metaphor for the unrequited love. That's my sight ;D

The first two albums have a harder edge to them, but they didn't start to venture into the metal territory until after their third album Kisou. Yes, they changed... a helluva a lot over the years. Some people like the changes, others don't.
