actually dude the 2 cars have the same engine and have a 60 lb weight difference, if the driver of the sedan didnt precum into vtec so fast then it would have been a good race based 100% on driver skill...
the Hondata reflash is one of the best mods you can do to this series of teh civic to get rid of the stupid rev hangs and also reduce the vtec engage to 4800 rpm under full throttle. That with a I/H/E completely changes the response and performance of the engine :p
I own a brand new 09 Si coupe and what i don't understand is why they don't have the V-tec kick in at like 4800 rpm instead of 5800 or whatever it is. i think that would give it more than it has. IDK maybe its fine but thats what i think.
I got an 09 si coupe too man, if your not happy with i vtec kicking in at 5800 rpms. Then get a hondata link and change it 4k rpms. I advise you not because that would effect your warranty.
I am sure it does more but I am not going to do that. If I ever add a supercharger or a turbo kit to then yet i will change when v-tec kicks in. Also if you have like 4000-5000 dollars you could add a stroker kit too it. Not too many people do it because it's expensive as hell. The si right now are a 2.0 liters, but if you add a stroker kit. It will make it a 2.4 liter si. Your car would eat a prelude any day.

Bottom line: Not riding the clutch and shifting the car perfectly in each gear is NOT a common effort capable by the ordinary driver. Therefore, although Honda may post #'s stating 0-60 times at 6.7, you bet your bottom dollar most people driving CANNOT achieve that number. Ultimately, The car is about a 7 second car with a quarter mile of over 15 seconds...nothing special if you ask me.

if you did research si's run 0-60 at 6.7 seconds. get JUST an intake and exhaust and your under 6 seconds.. or just get an intake and a reflash for your ecu, then your even faster.
si's aren't the fastest car out there, but they give you the most for what you pay for.

Yeah, I can feel that as there is no way that the coupe sounds like that stock; the sedan has the better of the two when it comes to exhaust note. Either way it was a cool vid as I like both cars. But to be honest I love the sound of my FA5 for sure (stock) and there is no way that I would have went with the FG2 as I am a little older and the extra room in the back is perfect for me!

I'm sure thats a lot to handle. But we are comparing production, street legal cars. And the ability to perform well in either type of race. actually dude the 2 cars have the same engine and have a 60 lb weight difference, if the driver of the sedan didnt precum into vtec so fast then it would have been a good race based 100% on driver skill...

the Hondata reflash is one of the best mods you can do to this series of teh civic to get rid of the stupid rev hangs and also reduce the vtec engage to 4800 rpm under full throttle. That with a I/H/E completely changes the response and performance of the engine :p

I own a brand new 09 Si coupe and what i don't understand is why they don't have the V-tec kick in at like 4800 rpm instead of 5800 or whatever it is. i think that would give it more than it has. IDK maybe its fine but thats what i think.

I got an 09 si coupe too man, if your not happy with i vtec kicking in at 5800 rpms. Then get a hondata link and change it 4k rpms. I advise you not because that would effect your warranty.

I am sure it does more but I am not going to do that. If I ever add a supercharger or a turbo kit to then yet i will change when v-tec kicks in. Also if you have like 4000-5000 dollars you could add a stroker kit too it. Not too many people do it because it's expensive as hell. The si right now are a 2.0 liters, but if you add a stroker kit. It will make it a 2.4 liter si. Your car would eat a prelude any day.

How were the times checked? G-timer, track run, wrist watch, or your own counting? Your full of it man. The experts that test the car are correct. 15.1-15.2 for the new Si's. Just because "you saw it" doesn't mean it's true; all it means is that you saw it or heard it or whatever fkn lies youd like to play out. In the end, its an economy car with a 6th gear as an overdrive.

6.7 0-60 shifted absolutely perfect and launched absolutely perfect. Bottom line: Not riding the clutch and shifting the car perfectly in each gear is NOT a common effort capable by the ordinary driver. Therefore, although Honda may post #'s stating 0-60 times at 6.7, you bet your bottom dollar most people driving CANNOT achieve that number. Ultimately, The car is about a 7 second car with a quarter mile of over 15 seconds...nothing special if you ask me.

Motor Trend tested a coupe at 6.3 0-60. Either way, it doesn't matter. People don't buy an Si for stock 0-60 times. They either buy it because it's an awesome daily driver that is also fun to drive, or they buy it to mod it and make it fast. It's not a peen measuring contest. Reality check for the fags: 1) the difference betwen the coupe and the sedan is 60 pounds!!! Performance numbers are identical. The new si is "cute" but its certainly not fast. Yeah, I can feel that as there is no way that the coupe sounds like that stock; the sedan has the better of the two when it comes to exhaust note. Either way it was a cool vid as I like both cars. But to be honest I love the sound of my FA5 for sure (stock) and there is no way that I would have went with the FG2 as I am a little older and the extra room in the back is perfect for me!
