i always have trouble with my footing if the ball is further away so you have to take a few extra steps and then do left rite...shuld i do the jump set or no?
if you are a left handed setter is the footwork still the same. I'm rather ambidextrous so I do both but no one has ever taught me if there is a difference.
u never stop training the technical no matter if u have it down or not or no matter if uve been playing for years...the fundamentals are always part of it...
tell me, how the hell do you set to the zone 2 from this position, if I'm coaching on the other side, and this girl is setting, my blockers are moving 3 feet to the right as you can see that the ball will go to either zone 4 or 3...
For me, a "2" is a "high center ball" and can be hit from a back row player if its set a little off, or by a front row player if its tight. A "1" is a low, or "quick" set out of the middle, and can be hit forward, or backwards from the setter. Usually 2's arnt back setted.
I think in this case, the 2 is referring to the height -not the positioning. often the numbers the will refer to the height, like how you said a 2 is a high ball. when referring to the 1, i think she just meant the first ball or the ball the girl just set. i know, it's weird. i'm usually use to the 2's and 1's being for the middles.
that is a 2 ball. more specifically, its a 32 ball. its use is for the outside hitter to sneak in a hit past the inside of the block and at a quicker pace. it's usually camouflaged by a fake run of a 1 ball by the middle, in order to keep a 1 on 1 block. a 2 ball can be set from anywhere too, its just a reference of height like schnutzle said.
I need to know the different positions for the ball like... my 4 ball is basically... eventhing on the outside... besides a shoot... i need to work on it but then again, i never learned it.
Question... why is the player on the chair so far to the outside? I like the drill and plan on using it this year but is the setter setting an outside two ball?

Old stuff, trust me. In Italy we have many problems, but we know about technical drills.

why is the 2 ball on the outside? arent 2's in the middle? and how come it says not as high as 1 ball? is she saying 2's are lower than 1's?

Apparently not everyone uses the same codes.

2 refers to tempo not position.

why does she have to be on a chair? cant she just stand?
gayNOTsucky 3 years ago
wen you stand on the chair, that's the height they assume you'd get up to wen you jump. so it's working on the height of your set
.. i think :D
