My favorite line of Crenna's was in "The Sand Pebbles" when he tells Ms. Eckert, played by Candice Bergen, in totally plummy tones, "They'll rape you, Miss Eckert"!

its such a shame he died , i would have loved to have seen him in the latest rambo cause he was such a big figure in the other 3 and was very much rambo's father figure.

A great actor--he was an outstanding villain in Wait Until Dark--but, Sand Pebbles IMO is his insignia in films.

I love Richard Crenna.

He's terrific in all his movies.

Although he's masculine, he's also intelligent, and has some interesting qualities of being "serious" and you can tell that there is more going on with him beneath the surface.
