  • @philcaron

    hi from french riviera phil

    Just a question

About the dyane6 and the méhari have they been imported in usa?

  • @randrianabel

    Hi,

I don't know if they were officially imported but there are some.

    Cheers,

    Phil.

  • @randrianabel yes i know the mehari was imported in the USA I have a 1969 mehari us spec car and it still run good. The dyane6 was to but not so many numders I've been told.

    A+

    Phil.

    Phil.

  • After all, "automobile" is a french word...

  • You've got a point! ;o)

    Bonne journee.

  • Hi,

Thanks for your comments. Try to come to the US at the "rendez-vous" next year. It is a fun event.

Take a look at the pictures of this year event at philcaron . com

    Cheers,

    Phil.

  • and OMG la Traction in 1:13 !!

even in France it is rare nowadays to see a such Traction ina good erstauration like this

congratulations also for this job !!

  • nice to see that

congratulations to all persons we see there for your job on these old Citroen cars but always present ^^ :-)

  • Nice video / belle vidéo.

I love the names on the licence plates.

Not sure it's a citroen at 4:34, but a Peugeot cabriolet.

    Renault 4L at 7:10.

Not seen any DS break. Even in France they are so rare.

    A bientôt,

    Phil.

  • @philcaron

Ok merci pour la réponse. Dsl d'avoir écorché ton pseudo. Tu rentres des fois en France ?

  • So nice to see many Citroens in North America...! Makes me think that if I'll ever be able to go to the US with my DS for tourism I'll have some friends there!

  • The price for a nice and real DS Cabriolet becomes amazing!!! Around 150 000 euros!

  • Yes, the record was last year in Paris selling for 360 000 Euros!

  • In '74 my dad bought a 1973 Citroen SM that served him well as a daily driver for 2 yrs. But he took care of all maintenance himself. Inc. the frequently needed carburetor syncing of the 3 deuces.

What impressed him most, was the 4 incredibly huge inboard brake rotors (like race cars), that could stop this beast from it's top speed dead straight w/o so much as a squeal.

The brake pedal was just a button. With Tight Speed Sensitive Steering it handle more like an Indy car than a street car! :D

  • I wonder how reliable they are? Beautiful cars

  • Hi,

The DS and 2CV are very reliable. The SM is better now if the engine is rebuilt with newer parts.

    Cheers,

    Phil.

  • great thankyou

  • @alanbstard4 Old Citroens are very reliable, my friend BX has already 700 000 km without any bigger break. I had to do some repairs in mine but previous owner was at fault.

  • @perdurabo1 excellent. Thanks for that

  • 7:49 Wow Old concept car ? ^^ :) ==> Nice

  • Thank you!

  • @bide777 I think you'll find it is a 2CV/Dyane/Ami based, Bugatti style kit car, anyone able to confirm that?

  • Congratulations! I had never seen some of those models! :) Jack

  • Thanks, Jack!

They are fun cars and definitely different ;o)

    Phil.

  • the Citroen DS 21 is beautiful !

  • Thank you!

    :o)

  • j'aurais pas cru!! On fait bien des rassemblement ford en france, alors pourquoi pas citroen aux states^^

  • dommage j'arrive de Saratoga springs Phil to France

  • Dommage en effet. I faut venir l'annee prochaine si tu peux.

    Phil du Connecticut :o)

  • Citroën made and still makes great cars, I always thought these cars were not built for the North American market.

Like Citroën Peugeot and Renault tried to sell their vehicles in the US and Canada but were not very successful.

  • they were built for the North American market, but in the case of the US, certain features at the time, such as the moving headlights were illegal

Also the small engine was not held in favour of Americans. I admit the engines should have been more powerful, as Citroen conceded

  • unbelieavable! dream cars ... in north am? u must be all french :)

great vid... loved to see so many ds and sm together. thank you!

  • You are welcome!

Thank you for your comment. Tere are some French people, but most are American.

    Phil.

  • You are very welcome. Thanks for your comment.

    Phil.

  • great! in aug 57 I saw my first ds at wheelus ab libya px, it was practically on the ground. The owner started it up and it came up to driving level :) I drove a 2cv in 97 in england - fun fun! and lastly I saw a truckette eons ago in Davenport Iowa, the driver was smiling - I wonder why? :)

  • Great club you got and the cars look amazing. Go on with the restoration and keep this precious cars alive and on the road - they have great spirit.

  • Thanks a lot, buddy!

    Phil.
