Some of these games used an 8-ball - yes it is a cue ball - it looks like the flippers on this game are as lively as they were back in '79-'84 when I used to see it on the boardwalk
Sweet LORD ON HIGH!!! I REMEMBER PLAYING THAT GAME!! LOL I also remember having to have two people to play it when I was 8! when I turned 18 I found it at the SAME arcade and needless to say...it had seen better times...the glass was almost completely clouded and the ball looked like a HUGE fooseball (I know it was a cue ball but still LOL) man this brings back some memories! LOL
I have worked on at least 4 of these machines over the years. It IS a cue ball that is used for the pinball. It's hard to maintain because the bumpers and electronics always break. It's also a very boring game.
I was maybe 8 when I fisrt saw this thing. It was gargantuan! It took almost the entire width of my spread arms to hit the buttons. The ball was titanic as well, but was also silver. It wasn't quite as big as a cue ball, but about the size of a hackey sack, only made of stainless steel. Everything about this machine was BIG!!!!
I remember first playing that giant game in Wildwood, NJ. There was a banner that read "The world's biggest pinball game!" It was 50 cents per game. There was an 8 ball in there! I can also remember the noise you would hear when the ball hits one of the bumpers and it caused some guy to say, "Ah, shut up!" :) Also saw one in Fishkill, NY where I played that game for the second time. That one had a white ball. This must be a rare pinball game.
