THE ONLY part of his "suicide note" that even somewhat deems it a suicide note, is the last 4 lines. WHICH were said to be written by another hand not of Kurts. If you match it up to Courtney's practice sheet found in her backpack, its exactly identical. THE LAST 4 LINES of that note were written AFTER Kurt seemed to have ended the note and even signed his note. ITS BULLSHIT. the part that kurt wrote seem like he's just leaving nirvana and possibly courtney. NOT SUICIDE.

You can look at the records of past drug overdoses. None of those people were able to function with such a high level of heroin. Even people who were big time users. They all went into a coma immediately.
Thing is, you can't exactly run an experiment and take a bunch of junkies & shoot them full of dope to see how long they function before they fucking die. The notion that Kurt "coudn't" have functioned long enough to manipulate the firemarm is kind of an assumption based on a bunch of cases where people w/ a morphine level similar to Kurt's reported level were found w/ the needles still in their arms. Most junkies never even *attempt* the use of a gun. Kurt's case might be kinda unique in a way.
I was doing 800mg a day when I finally got on the Clinic and working a regular job.O.K., that's nowhere near what he had in him, but he didn't have to work, just function long enough to pull a trigger. Maybe he wrote the 1st part of the note before he shot up, then went got the root beer and wrote the last 4 lines then did it. Im with the person that said just accept it. You can still enjoy the music he made immensely,but just accept it because the Police closed it.
The cop who was interviewed in this is just doing his job. He's a fucking PR guy, he wasn't involved in the investigation of the crime scene or any of the evidence. His job is to talk to the press and represent the SPD's best interests, which is why he comes across as being such a tool.

The SPD's ruling of suicide could arguably be called hasty, since it was decided the day his body was found, even before the suicide note had been tested or fingerprint evidence examined, but calling the ruling "corrupt" is a bit of a stretch, IMHO. Maybe the cops fucked up that day and missed something, or maybe their ruling was, while relatively quickly reached, also correct. The entirety of the autopsy reports and crime scene photos have still never been released to the public.

It would have probably killed me 4 or 5 years ago, but now you'd never know if I didn't tell you. Occasionally, if I am interrupted, I forget what I'm saying, but that's the only sign.

Tom Grant gave 2nd generation photocopies of Kurt's suicide note to several analysts, and while they noted "more than a dozen differences" between the main body and last 4 lines, they ultimately cautioned that "the copies were too poor to make a firm pronouncement". That means their results were inconclusive. The handwritten suicide note was conclusively determined to be 100% Kurt's writing.

In reality there is no recorded lethal level overdose in which the person was conscious long enough to pick up a gun, and people have researched this, including a coroner who specializes in toxicology. There was also valium in his system. It is possible he was drugged with valium, maybe in the root beer he was drinking, and when he was groggy they overpowered him. It's possible.

The biggest inconsistency for me would be the shotgun. One of them said the hands could have wiped the fingerprints off the shotgun due to the recoil. I say that's next to impossible. I don't see away the recoil of a shotgun could cause all of the prints to disappear.
Police said back in the day that fingerprints were ilegible due to recoil + excessive sweat. They said its common in suicide cases because the victim gets really nervous, which produces a lot of sweat. Liquids make prints not legible ;)
Kurt wrote with his left hand as well as his right hand. This explains why there are two different handwritings in his letter.
I know this because there is a picture of Kurt writing with his right hand, and there is a can of sprite or some other softdrink in front of him, whith the print readable, so it hasn't been a mirrored picture.

Kurt used to write unsent letters constantly. He'd start writing, then the day after he'd re read it and change and add more things.
We dont know when he started writing the suicide note, he had 3 days since he flew back to Seattle. In 3 days he was sober/high/sober/high/sober/high... Handwriting changes when youre drunk or high, and he was ambidextrous so, it isnt weird at all.
there would be other fingerprints on the gun. First thing you do when you get a new gun, guitar, or pretty much anything, you pull it out of the box and look at it. The examiner in this video, examined him on the scene. He never administered any tests. Maybe if he examined him at the autopsy I would give a crap what he had to say. Unfortunately, Courtney's friend who used to book shows with CL's ex-husband & KNEW her conducted the autopsy. He also booked Nirvana's 3rd show! CL was on good terms with her. Maybe if the weapon WAS DISCHARGED his theory about the prints would make sense. What about bullets, note,pen,syringe..COME ON! They should reopen the case

The diagnosis of the condition was actually a large part of why Kurt's gunshot wound was ruled as self inflicted. You said yourself that Hartshorne booked bands -- he knew many of the area's musicians. So what?

@LeahBBanayan Also, the weapon WAS discharged -- he had a gunshot wound inside his mouth, and blood coming from his left ear. There was a spent shell casing found at the scene, which was determined to have been fired from the weapon found on top of Kurt's body. Also bear in mind that the cops HANDLED all of the physical evidence @ the scene (the gun, shells, pen and note) and didn't check for prints until a month AFTER all that -- it's possible the cops themselves ruined the prints

THE ONLY part of his "suicide note" that even somewhat deems it a suicide note, is the last 4 lines. WHICH were said to be written by another hand not of Kurts. If you match it up to Courtney's practice sheet found in her backpack, its exactly identical. THE LAST 4 LINES of that note were written AFTER Kurt seemed to have ended the note and even signed his note. ITS BULLSHIT. the part that kurt wrote seem like he's just leaving nirvana and possibly courtney. NOT SUICIDE.

I have no idea what to believe but i do believe that this case needs to be re-opened. You can't close a case and keep is closed with this many questions still on it. They never proved either way by the sounds of things. They closed it and claimed it as a suicide but they questioned it as well.
I believe for the fans of Kurt, his family and frances these case should be re-opened. Even if it was a suicide at least we could be sure...

Everytime I watch documentaries on Kurt, I change my opinion. Yeah, he was a troubled soul. But from the points mentioned in this it's hard to come by. Like I said, that opinion is based on the fact that many of those junkies were found dead w/ the needles still in their arms, suggesting to analysts that they died before they could remove the syringes. I dunno, maybe that's true, it's certainly compelling, but that notion seems to conflict w/ the medical examiners' diagnosis of instantaneous rigor in Kurt's hand around the barrel, which gave them reason to believe Cobain was tightly squeezing it when he was shot. We need the full autopsy report

The notion that Kurt "coudn't" have functioned long enough to manipulate the firemarm is kind of an assumption based on a bunch of cases where people w/ a morphine level similar to Kurt's reported level were found w/ the needles still in their arms. Most junkies never even *attempt* the use of a gun. Kurt's case might be kinda unique in a way.

I was doing 800mg a day when I finally got on the Clinic and working a regular job.O.K., that's nowhere near what he had in him, but he didn't have to work, just function long enough to pull a trigger. Maybe he wrote the 1st part of the note before he shot up, then went got the root beer and wrote the last 4 lines then did it. Im with the person that said just accept it. You can still enjoy the music he made immensely,but just accept it because the Police closed it.

The SPD's ruling of suicide could arguably be called hasty, since it was decided the day his body was found, even before the suicide note had been tested or fingerprint evidence examined, but calling the ruling "corrupt" is a bit of a stretch, IMHO. Maybe the cops fucked up that day and missed something, or maybe their ruling was, while relatively quickly reached, also correct. The entirety of the autopsy reports and crime scene photos have still never been released to the public.

Just my morning dose of Tranxene, (a benzodiazepine, like Valium, but on steroids), Methadone and Fentanyl would kill 4 Junkies rather easily. It would have probably killed me 4 or 5 years ago, but now you'd never know if I didn't tell you. Occasionally, if I am interrupted, I forget what I'm saying, but that's the only sign.

Tom Grant gave 2nd generation photocopies of Kurt's suicide note to several analysts, and while they noted "more than a dozen differences" between the main body and last 4 lines, they ultimately cautioned that "the copies were too poor to make a firm pronouncement". That means their results were inconclusive. The handwritten suicide note was conclusively determined to be 100% Kurt's writing.

I have had experience injecting heroin and can tell you that it is VERY possible Kurt was slowly injecting himself with a dose to numb any pain of a mis-shot whilst he was writing the ''suicide'' note, it is more than possible that he killed himself and that is the way it happend, yet ther are also a few people who could have had reason for his murder, not just Courtney and the fact everyone slags down the way they do I think is SO immature n obviously becus of hurt feelings or immorality

@judyleasugar97 He lied about being okay and his drug addiction became very hard in '94. After the first suicide attempt in Rome in march '94 he was totally out of control in using heroin. I don't believe he was murdered, the police would have noticed that. Maybe the gun was already on his chest when he injected the drug and immediately pulled the trigger. If someone else was in the room, that would be very clear for the police. I think this murder thing is just a good big business for Tom Grant

Murder-fans says that it was just about quitting the music, but then why would he write down anything aboit it, not just simply stop playing?

@macskasegg i like you think it was a suicide. but just because there was a note doesn't mean anything, there have been cases of faked suicide note's, yes they could just match up the hand writing but people can be good at writing like other's. like wise if it was a murder it could be he was forced to write that note, then forced to shoot up then killed. as unlikely as that sounds it still could be done. in anycase like i said im with you on this and i think it was suiside.

@macskasegg: It is a theory that there is no ceiling for heroin tolerance. In reality there is no recorded lethal level overdose in which the person was conscious long enough to pick up a gun, and people have researched this, including a coroner who specializes in toxicology. There was also valium in his system. It is possible he was drugged with valium, maybe in the root beer he was drinking, and when he was groggy they overpowered him. It's possible.

He wrote the last few lines with bigger letters to make the last message stronger I think. That he loved his daughter and Courtney in a way, even if there were fights between them. The biggest inconsistency for me would be the shotgun. One of them said the hands could have wiped the fingerprints off the shotgun due to the recoil. I say that's next to impossible. I don't see away the recoil of a shotgun could cause all of the prints to disappear.

Police said back in the day that fingerprints were ilegible due to recoil + excessive sweat. They said its common in suicide cases because the victim gets really nervous, which produces a lot of sweat. Liquids make prints not legible ;)

Kurt wrote with his left hand as well as his right hand. This explains why there are two different handwritings in his letter.
I know this because there is a picture of Kurt writing with his right hand, and there is a can of sprite or some other softdrink in front of him, whith the print readable, so it hasn't been a mirrored picture.

Kurt used to write unsent letters constantly. He'd start writing, then the day after he'd re read it and change and add more things.
We dont know when he started writing the suicide note, he had 3 days since he flew back to Seattle. In 3 days he was sober/high/sober/high/sober/high... Handwriting changes when youre drunk or high, and he was ambidextrous so, it isnt weird at all.

there would be other fingerprints on the gun. First thing you do when you get a new gun, guitar, or pretty much anything, you pull it out of the box and look at it. Plus you hold it differently to load it, man I dont know but between this and a few other things I have been watching I think he could definetly have been killed.

You know a lot of high profile cases have been swept under the rugs cuz the police don't want to admit they 'bungled' the investigation. Seems easier to just write everythin off to sucicide. But when you hear the PI say, "He was worth more dead than alive" it does give one pause and consideration for foul play. I say this: Why the hell not just OD on drugs? Why both drugs and shotgun?
