  • I have this CD by June but when I put it in the computer to play it the video portions of it don't appear on screen. It says on the insert that it is a video-enhanced audio CD. Halos and Horns by Dolly Parton is another enhanced CD I have and that won't play the video portion on the computer here either. Anyone have a solution?

  • from the listening audience, thank you dualtone, again. this historical footage of these people we have loved all our lives like family.... priceless.Once again I quote " This old world was made a little brighter by the lives of folks like you". The history books need to remember The Carter Families contribution to american music.....priceless. I have been in love with real country music all my life, as my children are, and I teach them where it all started.....The Carter Family...

  • This is great..

  • Thanks for sharing this, it is great. the Carter-Cash clan are true americans. I miss them both dearly.

  • Thanks for posting this footage. It's beautiful.

  • Who would say that?? Evidentally someone with nothing better to do than to use their unruly grammar to make fun of wonderful people. It's okay to express our opinions, but it's not okay to do it in the manner that you did.

  • Do you really believe that Ronny, I'm not saying it didn't become a slang word for marijuana but this is not a song about dope & most of their songs were religious. If what you say is true prove it with evidence, rather than say so.

  • Why post this? Who cares that wildwood flower is slang for marijuana? My new slang for dumbfuck is ronny2471.

The Carter Family songs were reworkings of old songs of worship or old ballads ... by AP Carter.

There is alot of American history within their music. History of the poor working class...history that is not so much in our text books, but that is told through the stories and songs of the people. It should be respected as such.

  • Ok, now I am offended. My mamaw and June carter are 2nd cousins, and I have heard my mamaw talk alot about growing up with June, and the things they did as kids up in those mountains. My family are very Godly, Christian people, and to speak the way you do is comletely disrespectful, and a slap in the face to the memory of these great people. Shame on you!

  • comment is in response to a comment left by ronny2471

  • what did he say? Don't worry about him he's just jealous. No amount of disrespectin could harm the memorie of these great muscians!

  • @rarezombie wow, that's horrible.. I'm praying for you.

  • @rarezombie

that really offends me so damn much... BURN IN HELL YOU ANTI-AMERICAN TERRORIST DAMN YOU

  • @jewels97204 the word your looking for is over zealos

  • you're just a pothead.

  • I'm more into lysergic dimalethide. #25 if I can get it.(I cant). we forgive you, bluefish.

  • Very interesting and enjoyable - lots of history and great music in the old Carter home. Both of June's last albums (Wildwood Flower and Press On) featured some wonderful acoustic music, particularly Norman Blake on guitar.
