As a Pinoy, I believe that the Filipino race is an ethnicity that stands on its own. It's difficult to distinguish the Filipino identity to it's ancestry roots because Filipinos are so intermixed. And it's not the natives fault, Japan, China, Spain, and the US have all made a heavy impact in the Filipino culture, let alone the language. All the influences other nations have placed in the Philippines created a whole different and unique culture on its own: the Filipino Culture.

And it's not the natives fault, Japan, China, Spain, and the US have all made a heavy impact in the Filipino culture, let alone the language. All the influences other nations have placed in the Philippines created a whole different and unique culture on its own: the Filipino Culture.

Ang nakakatawa sa inilagay mo dito ay hindi mo kinoret sila. Baka naman hindi ka pinoy at nag-gagawa ka lang ng gulo. I've been in Canada for 13 years at hindi pa ako nakakabalik sa Pinas. I moved to Canada when I was 9 and still can speak Tagalog. Maybe, not as fluent as some say but, I can get by and hold my own.

Kasalanan din ng mga magulang yan e. Kasi hindi nila tinuturuan ang anak nila magsalita ng tagalog.
Pero may mga dayuhan din na pinanganak sa Pinas gaya ng mga Intsik, Hapon, Koreano etc...etc...na marunong magsalita ng tagalog. So ano ba sila? Filipino? Meron ding mga Pinoy sa Pinas na hindi marunong magsalita ng tagalog. So ano ba sila? What makes them Filipino?

@shanen28 Tama ka kaya lang kung misan sobrang yabang ng ibang Filipino. Lalo na dito sa America. Meron akong kaibigan dati na galing sa Makati. Sobrang yabang sabi nya sa kaibigan namin na galing Zamboanga na sya daw ay hindi tunay na Pinoy. Kasi daw hindi sya marunong magsalita ng tagalog. Hindi lang wika ang alamin natin importante talaga ang HISTORY natin. Maraming mga Pinoy dito na walang alam sa History ng mga Filipino. Three Stars and the Sun daw.....wala namang alam sa History natin.

@myeviec You want to know why that goes around? Look up your heritage and see how much you have lost, see how much wrong have been done to your ancestors. It was probably JUST because of Bathala/God's own intervention that we still keep our culture, sadly not much of our pre-spanish is taught even though we know a lot of our past empires, and this is what happens when it isn't taught. Oh and stop whining about whites like they are holy, know their history too and still try to think that.
