I love the music in this game. the crowd cheering sounds are cool too. I wish that I still had this but I might have the ROM in an emulator somewhere.
Yes, digital music. Most Game Boy games have decent to excellent tunes, and you probably mean the various consoles where lots of crap tunes could be easily found.
oh my god...i seriously got super choked up watching this. i spent so many of my childhood hours playing this game. i saw it in a pawn shop and i shoulda fucking bought it.
is there any better moment when you, (for example) been done with a visit on a place and after that, getting back home and crying in mom and dads bed cause you didn´t want to go for that visit in the first place... and right after that you will be Rewarded with a Gameboy from your mom and with this game included? that did happen me... and the scarry visit where at the dentist! (at year 5-6) x-D
First time i see what happens if someone actually beat this game i got it about 15years ago? something like that and still this game is impossible to me anyway
I buyed this game for my Game Boy Classic less than a month ago.
But I saw that this one is more harder than I thought!
I use to play my GB in my travels by train, going to work and returning to my home and so.
I have the booklet, the box and the protective plastic and the plastic where you put the cartridge in to close the box, I mean, I have the complete game! :)
I need more easy games like this for my travels by train, I have Pac-Man too and I like it !!!
Oh so you bought it too. That's great. The instruction manuals are atrocious though (like Tetris despite the beautiful box art) but that is Nintendo's marvelous way of doing things so.
You should consider getting Lock N Chase and Palamedes (I trample on the ugly manuals placed near my bed the first thing I wake up everyday for many years).
I played this since 15 years with success, but in the beginning I lost every match I had played. After a new match that I have one in a hard threesetter against level 2, the result was 6:3 4:6 and 6:4, I have won often the matches without fighting. That was too boring for me, so I have changed. I have played the matches without the moonballs. My hardhitter tennis today against the level 4 player is now more interesting and longer then before with some fantastic rallies. I love this game!
My goal in this world is just to own the Japanese import cartridge copy (the black-and-white US version manual cover without the nice color box art is rubbish) and to beat the computer at Level 4 at 6-0, 6-0.
I have met both and have thus reached the summit, so I do not need to waste time to refine the repeated beating of a dead horse as I progress to achieve one credit, no damage and/or double perfect standards on the hardest difficulty in many other games I like as well.
this is actually the only tennis game in which you can control everything that you do. if you make mistakes, the ball WILL go out. it just does what you instruct it to.
every other stupid tennis game today will do things automatically for you. most of them you cannot make mistakes or hit the ball out. they are like pong, with updated graphics to wash people over.
Oh yes, I discovered that jointly by effort and by pure accident back in 1996 when my friend who was undoubtedly excellent in winning when he gets to serve the ball, confessed he has no idea of knowing how to return the com's serves in turn, let alone turning them into wins. I watched him play before, so.
Nevertheless I kept these in mind and wanted to be better than him especially in the latter aspects.
classic game for the gameboy I remember having my gameboy and thisd game plus tetris and the mario games and i had this mini amp made by NUBY that hooked to the bottom of the gameboy i wish i had that thing today id use it on my ipod
About 20 minutes prior to posting I captured a video with 6-0, 6-1 as the score, but I thought it was still not good enough. I really hate the "almost" kind of feeling, so I had to play it over and come up with this better video instead.
my GB games were Tetris, Dr. Mario, Mario Land 1&2, Zelda: Link's Awakening, Metroid 2, Wario Blast(found this game on the ground of a bball court lol!), a Kirby's Dream Land, Pokemon Red&Blue(hard to admit), Mercenary Force, and probably rented a few too. yeah..playing that poke-crap made me miss out on a lot of life. Im not sure why, but I had a strange urge to level them all up to lv 99 without using that candy.

Yes~~ the highest level is very hard to win
but actually there is a glitch.
When you serve, you can throw the ball up and then move your body toward the ball and let it crash your head.
You'll hear a "ka" voice, and gain the point = =""".....

I never played this game in the Game Boy, but I wanted it in my childhood. It is very similar gameplay that Konami´s Tennis MSX cartridge.
