  • he lives, everybody is happy yayyyyy

  • no seatbelt can mean a broken neck, thats worse than dying.wear your seatbelt for the sake of God.wtf

  • pretty sure you missed the door too....

  • actually i think the dislikes are because the airbag didnt deploy on the without one and it did with the safetly belt on, maybe those 15 people including me saw this and realized its biased

  • i used this in a music video i made /UAHX5FGTVOY check it out!

  • but without the seat belt the airbag didn't deploy which caused him to hit the windshield...

  • I was walking around a car yard where you take off parts that you want by yourself.

I just happened to notice that every second car had a cracked windscreen around where the driver would hit it, and most had hair and blood embedded in it.

  • If you dont put seat belt and airbag you are gonna go headfirst through dashboard

  • Ow.

  • the crash dummy not have any force to resist to the impact, the second car doesn't have airbag

im not saying the seatbelt is useless im just saying this is not show the real thing

  • why didnt the airbag deploy on the first car?

  • @ImTheBOSSRoundHere The first car didn't have them, because at one point in time all airbags were optional features.

  • @IdentifiableUser - driver airbag was standard on all Lincolns starting in 1990. This Lincolns is a 1990 model and had an airbag. The airbag was simply disconnected (in the crash where it did not deploy) to show the effects of a crash without airbag and seatbelt, versus crash with seatbelt and airbag.

  • @ImTheBOSSRoundHere - it was disconnected on purpose to show the crash without seatbelt and without airbag.

  • "I use to be an adventurer like you...until i took a WINDSHIELD TO THE FACE!!!"

  • @granthemenway Probably, but also without the seatbelt no airbag deployed, so it was not a fair comparison.

  • LOL the seatbelt is minimal in this comparison when the driver without the seatbelt also didn't have optional airbags...

  • buster is dead ;P omg

  • I WHIP MY HAIR BACK AND FORTH..

  • Man, crashing town cars sucks :-(

  • safety belt? airbag didnt deploy in the first crash

  • @Hebert6760 Airbags wont deploy UNLESS you are wearing a seatbelt. Your gonna die either way

  • @jetwingfairy Who lied to you? lol.

Air bags do deploy without the seatbelt

  • @Hebert6760 because some car wont deploy airbag cause it can break your neck without steabelt

  • @Hebert6760 "See a head on crash test with and without a safety belt and airbags. Vide"

  • @Hebert6760 Because the car didn't know there was somebody sitting in the front seat. Notice that it didn't go off on passenger side at all.

  • @Hebert6760

Seatbelt system has monitors, if you're not wearing a seatbelt, it won't deploy.

If it deploys when you're not wearing a seat belt, there can be more potential injuries.

  • @Hebert6760 Airbags in many vehicles do not go off if the seat belt is not fastened - high probability of the occupant being in the wrong position and injured by the deployment. Airbags are solely a supplement to seatbelt restraint, and are NOT adequate restraint on their own.

  • @Hebert6760 Shows how much you don't know.

  • @0:26 She flicks us off!

  • Judging by his face paint he was about to go to a Patriots game.

  • crash testing a car without doors.... how smart :p americans just dont know!!

  • @ebebimik you're an idiot. it wasn't testing a car, it was just showing what happened when u don't wear your seat belt.

  • @markhenderson123 things is though with doors there is a much better chance for the passanger because doors strengthen the structure.. notice the door frame bending at the front? u american by any chance? :p

  • @ebebimik Yes, I am a proud American! and no, doors do not provide structure for a car at all. Who ever you received this info from should just stop acting like they know what they are talking about.

  • @markhenderson123 wow your "proud" american now? haha dont you ever wonder what ppl from other nations think of you "proud" americans or do you just not care and act like you are light in the darkness? doors strengthen the structure and ive told and showed you why.

  • LOL! at 00:12 it head-butted the windshield

  • Pretty sure the fucking airbag is still supposed to deploy with or without a seatbelt.

  • Why no air vag?

  • atleast the rims are ok.

  • No seatbelt = die

    seatbelt = a little whiplash.

  • I don't know where you idiots get your information but you're full of crap. I know first hand that not having your seatbelt buckled has no effect whatsoever on air bag deployment. The video is really pointless because the car crumples completely different and the results are completely meaningless with no doors!

  • @brsanko Check wikipedia for "airbag" dumbass.

  • Ford was one of the first to develop and test an airbag system in the late '60s and by 1971 had a reliable system. Their marketing research indicated, however, that buyers would not be interested in paying extra for the feature so the project was abandoned. This was proven by General Motors who offered a driver air bag option on their '74 - '76 full size models. Hardly any were sold.

  • In 1972 a starter interlock system was mandated and worked by not allowing the engine to start unless the lap belts were buckled. Many owners (including my parents) defeated this feature simply by buckling the belts and tucking them down into the seats.

  • It's interesting how the culture of safety has changed over time. Shoulder belts were first required in 1968 but came clipped to the headliner and had to be taken down and manually attached to the lap belt or buckled seperately. Most of those cars went to the salvage yard with those belts still firmly attached to the ceiling never having been used.

  • That shit hurts like a mother fucker. The seat belt crushing your chest.

  • Save some money in your next crash, don't wear seat belts

  • it is said that 40% of americans forget seatbelts. i have no idea if thats true for over there but in australia, ive never seen someone not use it

  • @diondai1 everyone here wears one. Its socially accepted and required- even by young drivers. We dont understand why you wouldnt want to... it becomes second nature and increases your chances of survival by 50% in a frontal crash.

  • bilateral tension pneumothorax without a safety belt. undoubtedly

  • who drives without seatbelts anyways? i never even think about seatbelts, u just get in the car and automatically put the belt on.

  • @zimThuet Older people for whom it wasn't a mandate when they learned to drive. My grandpa used to routinely forget his seatbelt.

  • @zimThuet alot of people...you would be surprised.

  • @zimThuet

I do the same thing but when i first started actually driving i always forgot my seatbelt somehow. If i was in passenger always first thing seatbelt but if i was driving i always forgot. dont know why.

  • Jump OUT!!!!!!

  • awesome synchronization

  • The 2nd Town Car was the older. 1990 model

  • Does it matter though? I didn't think they really changed any of the safety aspects during that whole generation. I could be wrong for all I know though.

  • I crashed head on into a cement barrier on an off ramp going about 50 mph. Didnt even hit my head on the steering wheel. Humans have muscles to resist the crash. dummys do not.

  • OMG...

Long Live the safety belts !! ^^

  • me and my sisters boyfriend crashed. we diddent have our seatbelts on but luckilly they did work

  • rip mister crash tester.

    he will be missed! :'(

  • No, no, nooo! Not a Town Car, even if it has got no doors. Why didn't they use a f...... Toyota?

  • @Danish4ever77 Because Town Cars are junk.

  • @idontcare80 so are Toyota's

  • @Rarrin9378 Yeah, that's why they always have the highest quality ratings, very high resale values and are the top selling brand in the world, because they are junk. That makes perfect sense, if you're a moron.

  • @idontcare80 I have family that owns Shitoyota's. My aunt has had the interior pretty much fall apart to nothing in her camry and had stupid panels fall off for no reason and her rims rusted out. My other aunt had a 2008 corolla and the engine blew and it was always maintained not to mention the interior falling apart. I don't know about you but I'm not one of the brain dead dumbass's that falls for Toyota's lousy schemes, I bet you they pay company's to give them good ratings.

  • @Rarrin9378 I have family (and friends) who own Toyotas too, they've never had any problems with them. My grandparents owned a 1983 Camry for almost 20 years until they passed it on to my mother and then to my brother, it was flawless. I have a neighbor who buys Toyotas that were used as rentals, he has very few problems and all of them are very minor. Toyota didn't build their good reputation by building shit vehicles.

  • @idontcare80 These new ones their rolling off there line are pretty bad. I understand they used to make good vehicles, infact they were great but now they're just plain garbage! I wouldn't be surprised if they're sales just stopped one day.

  • @Rarrin9378 I haven't heard anything bad about them, other than the media blowing up about the accelerator pedal recall. They still dominate ratings all over the place.

  • @idontcare80 Gotta admit I wouldn't know the darker sides of the Town Cars. I only drove them as new rental cars. I think they are beautifull machines...

  • Airbags will deploy regardless of whether the seat belts are fastened or not. The only time the airbags won't deploy is if they are manually disabled (like above) or when the passenger detection system detects a child sitting in the front seat. The airbag provides some (but minimal) protection for an unbelted occupant.

  • wear seat belts while driving

  • wtf shouldn't the airbag with or without seatbealt.

  • whats the point of having airbags in a car without seatbelts ??!!

  • Airbags do deploy when seatbelt is not in use. NHTSA disabled the airbag in this test DELIBERATELY. They even test cars without the seatbelt in use to see how well the airbag protects an unrestrined occupant.

  • Well.....looks like someones going to have a headache.

  • also the car has no doors you missed that out

  • Thats a town car like a 90-94

  • Quite a nice looking car. It looks American. What is it?

  • I had a accident like that once..I wore seat belt and it left only a small burn..Airbag hit my hands so it hurt a bit..But definitely it's better to be hurt than dead..

  • I'd be with a seat belt in that.

  • That dummy is going to need some MAJOR dental work.

  • that guy still broke his fingers off with the seatbelt... :P

  • Lol, airbag is not supposed to work if seatbelt not used.

  • @AlexTheZebra look up crash test and both side air bags will go off

  • @AlexTheZebra They do In the newer models regardless if the seatbelt is fastened or not

  • @AlexTheZebra im afraid that is rong. look at the car. it DUSNT have an airbag. it kinda looks a bit american.

  • @AlexTheZebra The airbag does not deploy if the safety belt is not connected.

  • @PancakesoftheLove - not so on these cars... that was disconnected for demonstration.

  • @AlexTheZebra actually yes that is a true statement... they do not

  • FUUUU..

  • Crash test with and without doors :D

  • Anyone know how fast the car was going for the test?

  • @PianoShapedObject

The IIHS does their test at 40MPH.

  • 0:12 he's "hard-headed"

  • It looks like the test with the air bag and seatbelt experienced a lot more recoil, although the one without either would have been screwed before he bounced back.

  • No seat belt? Bye bye face

  • So if your seatbelts off they make sure your ass gets killed by not deploying the airbag. Population control at its best!

  • @FealSmart one of the reasons airbags deploys is by high pressure to the steringwheel.. if ur not wearing the seatbelt, the airbag will probebly not deploy.. so, yes its real..

  • @nexussix00 Soooo your body slamming into the steering wheel isnt high pressure? let alone 40mph impact to the front of the car??? you make no sense dude

  • the airbag does not open when you're seatbelt is not on!

  • There is something wrong with this airbag..the airbag should explode when you hit it, & in this case "not exploding" it will break your ribcage

  • @JordanianPride80: In fact, it should rip apart anyway whether you hit it or not. Airbags are engineered that way.

  • that crash only happened because the driver was smoking a joint.

  • Just a question. Since we Filipinos are just made to be small, our cars tend to be too large for us that we have to adjust our seat so much that the steering wheel is only about an inch away from our face and whole body . What would happen if we crash with an airbag extending more than 10 inches away from the steering wheel?...

  • so the airbags will not deploy if ur seatbelt isn't on? thats a bit stupid

  • My friends and i were on the way to a college class and hit somebody going 55 MPH that pulled out in front of us for no reason...nobody was majorly hurt, just a few sprained body parts and bruises...it should have been a lot worse than it was, but God was watching over us today...especially knowing something like what happened in this video could've happened to us. Just goes to show how we take life for granted sometimes...

  • @JayBird1031 God also caused you to get into the car accident. All I'm saying is thank him for the good and the bad. Right?

  • No air bag wtf?

  • Comment removed

  • Was the speed 1m/h?

  • Yep. I wear mine, even before it became manditory (although I do not agree with manditory use)

  • I see he loses parts of his fingers when they are hit by the airbag. Can you imagine what happens to the hand when you hold the wheel from the top? You would lose your whole arm when the airbag goes off!!!??

  • Comment removed

  • I'm pretty sure that is just the tape that is used to keep the dummy's hands on the wheel...

  • @wittlestguy ok, but still, what would happen if you hold the wheel from the top? Wouldn't the arm break apart?

  • @robomanus Even though you are not supposed to hold the wheel from the top, you arm might break, but not into pieces. Also, which do you prefer? A broken arm or a shattered face?

  • @robomanus Actually I wrecked in my jeep cherokee and only broke my thumb when the airbag deployed and I was holding the wheel at the top. But I can see how it would have enough force to break an arm.

  • 0:42 the guy without seatbelt died

  • @Wolfalb- idk but it invalidates the entire comparison. It'd be like on a bicycle helmets vs no helmets but the guy with a helmet is going 5mph and crashes and the guy without one goes 90mph into a tree.

  • @lukyo1984- umm actually the airbag did 96% of the work....the first one was bad cuz there was NO airbag, even if he had had a seatbelt his head would have smashed into the steering wheel, which isn't much better than going through the wind shield so this should be a lesson to check your bags after going to the mechanic. In fact some seat belts have actually slit throats wide open before...

  • @Nextmillionare27 Yea and imagine that the person wasn't wearing a seatbelt. Thats what I find amusing, people say "seatbelts can kill, by breaking bones, cutting, etc" If the accident is that brutal, could you imagine without a seatbelt? Fact is, there is no 100% safe way to save you in an accident, just to prevent as much injury as possible. I'd much rather have a "possible" injury from a seatbelt as oppose to just straight up death.

  • Why didn't the air bag go off in the first one?

  • one without seatbelt had no air bag and made it look worse than it was

  • @loser6574 Even if there was an airbag, having 160 pounds accelerating into it wouldn't do anything to save you. With a seatbelt its only your head that strikes the airbag, that is around 15-20 pounds as oppose to 160+, so no, without a seatbelt there is no point in an airbag. The 2 go together like a hotdog and a bun.

  • @loser6574 i think that the airbag dosnt deploy if your seatbelts not on

  • @triggerhappybullets Hahaha wow. So they make it so your airbag doesn't work if your seatbelt isn't on so you die and learn your lesson? People are too funny.

  • @wasdare32 notice how when a car hits another car thats parked the parked cars airbags dont go off.

  • @triggerhappybullets Parked car airbags don't go off because the car isn't on. The sensors and such aren't running if the power isn't on. The airbags will go off if the car is running whether or not you have your seatbelt on.

  • @loser6574 Because with the air bag on, it would've been much worse. Both are incredible forces flying towards each other at tremendous speed. With out a seat belt, an air bag will most likely kill or severely injure you.

  • @Psythik Youtube analyzer without an airbag he still could have went trough the windshield with it he wouldn't be able too

  • @loser6574 airbags are designed not to go off unless your seatbelt is on. Every car has a sensor in the seat buckle part that enables the airbag

  • @H20MarkVIII Bullshit man do some research before u post

  • @loser6574 I work as an engineer for GM you tool

  • @H20MarkVIII GM cool not ford lincoln or mercury

  • @loser6574 Chrysler came up with the seatbelt sensing airbag system in the late 60s, Ford and Gm both Bought the system from Chrysler. Every car manufacturer since the 60s has used this system since than, perhaps you need to do some research.

  • @H20MarkVIII I have done some research for the second time no one has ever said the airbag doesn't deploy if u have non seat belt on! Also (seatbelt sensing airbag system) is not even a real thing it is made up in ur head and i also searched that a dozen time and got nothing

  • @H20MarkVIII Nope. I've had an air bag deploy without being belted in. OH..and why do they tell you to disconnect the battery during service? So the airbag does not accidentally deploy when messing around under the hood.

  • @Knapper32927 Thats unusual for the airbag to deploy without being belted in, I know that since auto manufacturers realized that people are killed by airbags more often when not being belted up, they added additional safety measures to stop this. The reason for the disconnecting a battery during service is because an airbag is basically an open circuit, if you happen to touch the two wires that connect to the clock spring when removing the airbag than it closes the circuit and inflates the bag.

  • @loser6574: Airbags without using seatbelts are a very bad idea. I hope you know that.

  • @loser6574 All modern cars have a sistem that disables the airbag if you haven´t got your seat belt on, at the speeds the airbag fires it could cause more damage than the steering whell alone, it sound crazy I know but it´s true

  • @gDrLemon prove it is not true in these cars they allow you too turn it on and off always

  • @gDrLemon uh that's not true at all. In USA all new cars have extra big airbags just because many people don't use their seatbelts. If you crash at lets say 35 mph without seatbelt and hit the steering wheel and then the windscreen, you have no chances of surviving, but if you hit the airbag (and have some luck) you might escape with only injuries. I however, you have misunderstanded. Airbags are designed to deploy only at high speeds, and in some cars only in seats that are occupied

  • @loser6574 Worse than it was? You're a fucking idiot.

  • @MacGyver920 he mean that the first was without airbag, so it didn't show what would happen if you didnt wear your seatbelt if you have airbags

  • @KillanatorVids No, he meant that crashing without an airbag isn't really that bad, but he doesn't have a fucking clue what he's talking about.

  • @loser6574 - Airbags don`t deploy when seatbelt is not connected...

  • @sabbathian - They deploy whether seatbelt is buckled or not. I would guess that IIHS disconnected the airbag in the first test.

  • @sabbathian maybe the latest versions of airbags.... that year car probably wouldnt give a shit if you didnt have your belt buckled

  • @sabbathian You my friend, you are a liar, I didn't had my seatbelt connected 2 days ago, and I crashed my Mustang against a tree, and the airbag saved my life.

  • @jooelpe My question is this. Why weren't you using your seat belt?

  • @09feb1992 I never use it, and I was drunk, drunk as hell, I don't remember what happened, I just know that was a big crash, and that the airbag saved my life.

  • @jooelpe Oh God. That's even worse! Drink and driving and not wearing your seatbelt. What if you killed someone?

  • @09feb1992 I know, in fact, the next day I was like, WTF happened yesterday? so I started to search in the news, and then I read one that said: a red Mustang killed 2 kids and ran away... I was like please that's not me! but the new was from the day before, so I just destroyed my car.

  • @jooelpe you need psychological help

  • @dallesimmortal For drinking in parties? you forever alone need a life, if I believed in Jesus and god, then I would need psychological help.

  • @sabbathian They disabled it for the test... something they should not have done... A real scientific test changes only one thing.

  • @sabbathian

Which allows for Darwin to "prove" his theory (which is actually a fact, not a theory. It's proven every day.)

  • @sabbathian these guys from the Highway safety crap are a bunch of lairs. They did not activate the airbag when the dummy was wearing the safety belt but the did it i know you notice that, but...i just wanted to talk.

  • @sabbathian thast a wiring issue lets say the system dont detect your belts when there belted

  • @sabbathian yes they do.

There are sensors in the front rear and side of the car that will make the airbag pop wether your in your belt or not.

  • @loser6574 I believe most cars will not activate the airbags if the seatbelt isn't in use because doing so would actually make occupants' injuries worse.

  • You can learn a lot from a dummy.

    Buckle your safety belt.

  • without wearing seat belt

  • @YiJustin558 Its a historic. 1974 was the year

  • What speed was this?

  • Im driving soon and my truck dosent have seatbelts.

  • @MrBooster999 Your truck isn't street legal, then. Unless it's considered an antique

  • @YiJustin558 if it wasnt made with seatbelts, it doesnt need them...
