Most of these phones come with the updated operating system on them. However, if yours does not have the 3.0a operating system, then you will have to buy the update at the site in my description.

yes, you can move the icons, but not from one page to the next. I'm not sure which sound you are talking about. I believe you can though. mine did not make a noise when I locked it. Yes, there is a vibrate-only setting if you configure it that way in the profiles.

yes you can re-arrange the icons, however instead of jiggling like the iphone you just press and hold and slide it to the new spot.

i have the sciphone and the apple iphone, the sciphone is okay, but its nothing compared to the real deal, but it is a nice cheap alternative, however it doesn't support apps.... only java based games.

Can you help me-i bought the phone but i am having so much trouble setting it up-i can't add music or pics to the phone -i can add pics to the sd card but not the phone -i can't use my pics as wallpaper it says file size too large and i can't use the music icon on the phones menu to pull up files i have to go to memory card not phone- help when i conect the hone to my computer i can't add files to the phone only to the sd card what am i doing wrong?

Hmmm, if you have a I68+ with 3.0a firmware, it should be very similar to the I9. If you are wanting to upgrade a previous version of I68 to the 3.0a firmware, I can send you a link for that.

I just got a Sciphone i68+ that came with the 3.0a on it.

The text message tones can be changed, but not through the 'regular' phone interface. You have to edit the firmware using Spiderman Firmware reader\writer and MTK Media Editor. I changed the icons, background, all wallpapers, menu graphics, and almost all of the midi ringtones and text message tones this way. You need to buy or make a special usb cable to do this, but it's worth it. The camera sucks on it, but it's a VERY cool phone!

Yes - using a program that is built in called CHAT - it makes coming and going text messages look like a chat room.

I have never seen an I9 in person but from reports I have read they are pretty similar. In theory, the I9 can pan around on zoomed images in the image viewer where the I68+ cannot. I have also read that the I68+ has a smoother running firmware (less jumpy menu scrolling). Depends on your character I guess. I envy you : )

I got the i68+ a few hours ago.

So far I like it. It was easy to setup.

I've made phone calls and sent and received text messages which is what it's mainly gonna be used for . I couldn't however receive MMS. The camera is the WORST ever!

I'm gonna add music and some pics later tonight.

I should get the i9 tomorrow or the day after.

I'm gonna play with both and sell one of them after about a week.

I sell both the i68+ and the i9 phones. They are both the same except the camera controlls on the i9 are easier than the i68+. The firmware on the i68+ is smoother running. The battery life on the i68+ is better too. Also the i68+ comes with a wall charger that has a slot to slip the other battery in to charge. Meaning you never, never have to plug in your i68+ to the wall to charge it. Just swap out your old battery 4 the 1 thats charging !!! IMO the i9 is a cheap copy of the i68+

Alas, you cannot. You can set ring your ring tone to any MP3, but you can only pick from a variety of pre-determined Midi tones for message notification. All of which make my ears bleed. I leave the message notification set to vibrate. It may be possible to change the default Midi tones via flashing the rom. But I do not know anything about it.

Congratulations. I will PM you a site or two to point you in the right direction. Any generic iphone case should fit well. Although there is a difference in the form of the edges and I believe the volume toggle on the side is slightly different from that of an iphone. I bought my case on Ebay. There are cases made specifically for the i68 on various web sites including ebay.

Cover... I use and iphone case with great sucess. If you mean a silicone or hard case, I do not know. It is the same dimesions as an iphone. However the corner edges of the iphone seem thinner. Or, taper off sooner. I have not tried.

I use my thumbs. I have used the iphone in a side by side comparison, and they aren't too different when it comes to typing. The keyboard is layed out a little different, and there is a tiny delay on the actual character being displayed on this phone over the iphone. I did not notice it until I actually compared the two. The keyboard is very usable with your fingers. I made about the same number of errors on the I68+ and the iphone. Given, I was a novice at both at the time.

Funny you should ask, this morning I accidentally dropped mine in from about 4 feet onto my asphalt driveway. Anyway, it hit the ground on the corner, bounced sideways, and slide about 2 feet face down under my car. I reached under there and pulled out what I suspected to be a destroyed phone. The total damage was a smal dent in the corner it initially landed on, 4 smal knicks in the chrome and 4 very small scratches on the edge of the screen visible when it is off.

I will say there is a slight "catch" if you would call it that. It comes with two a 1200mA battery. This is a little on the light side if you ask me. With normal use it will last the full day but it will run out of juice before the night is over with. However, it comes with an extra battery, wall charger, (that charges said extra battery on the back at the same time as the phone) and a car charger. You can also charge it from your laptop if in a despirate situation. Othere than that, I love it.
