this was more awesome, and a bit (bit) educational at first, then they changed it to some puppets singing and dancing with creatures (like who the hell seduces a deer in a forest?) and no blood (if you cut open someone, there is bound to be a lot of blood...) and NONE of the creatures look realistic, they could atleast add fur...

it was like before the cell stage... basically it was going to be a tetris game to decide what type of cell you would be.. and btw themonkeymanofdoom, the city stage was where you fave the normal problems you face today... then when your city shapes up and you form other citys together, you get civilization stage where you fight with your nation agensed other nations

actually i think the game they show in this video is way better than we bought.

all is better the graphics like eating and here are much nicer fases like a cell with arms and you can swim in this. 1 word it looks like the game in the store is a demo of the game in this video.

If I'm not mistaken, I'd say this sort of looks like that old game Impossible Creatures, just this game give you more options of play, and a larger variety for creating monsters/animals. I'm getting the game tomorrow, so I can't exactly describe the game yet. I have the full Creature Creator, and to tell you the truth, it is really fun to think of random animals and such.

5/5, and can't wait to get the game!

Spore actually ended up being a really poor game. The editors were great, but the application of your creatures, and the execution of the game play was poor.

My gripe with the editors is that part placement only matters in the Cell Stage (even then, it's minimal). Other than that the editors are perfect, save the lack of some weapons for the vehicles.

The game play on the other hand is absolutely terrible. (Continued in next comment)

The Cell Phase had some positive aspects, but in the end, it's too simple, too short, and can best be labeled as "potentially good".

Creature Phase really starts to suck balls. I'd say it's the longest phase next to Space, and for me, it's the worst. All you do is spam clicking to kill other monsters, or to befriend them, time button presses. That's pretty much ALL you'll do here. Literally, there is nothing else. It feels really shallow. at E3 2005 regarding the Creature Phase, we expected more. That's all there is though... Tribal Phase SEEMS better for a bit, but when you realize the formula to success, you get pissed off. This is what you need to do: -Hunt animals so you won't starve -Max your population -Give you guys spears -Right click on enemy base... Civ Phase is the same as Tribal. You need to: -Max vehicle limit -Appease strongest ally -Attack all enemy cities Space should be the best phase as it is the longest...

And it is the best phase. It's still eventually get's repetitive though. Interaction with the environment is minimal, terraforming planets is repetitive, alliances with other nations feel scripted, and the combat is really weak.

Spore is great for creative people that want to demonstrate their skill with a program, but it's just not a great game. It's weaknesses could have partially been excused if there was a multiplayer component. Maybe Wright wants to make money of an expansion!

This game by far was the best $50 I ever spent. everyone can play it, from my 4 y/o neice making creatures and playing with cells to my 60 y/o father who plays in civilization for the war aspect

its completly single player in the idea that everything you actually interact with is run by a.i

its only multiplayer because other people's creatures inhabit this world but those creatures the game uploads from sporepedia are run by computer in your game
