  • sergei nakariakov's playing of this is better

  • the lady sitting just behind kristof looks like she would like to slap the piss out of him

  • bravo complimenti.

  • az a természetes könnyedség...:)

  • I'm playing this on Friday (n viola)!!! Last Friday was our first rehearsal and we were expected to sight-read it at nearly full speed. I started thinking: "Boy, I wish I'd practiced this..." while the notes aren't too hard, they aren't easy to sight-read quickly.

This video helps a lot!!! Great playing! I actually like this one more than the other video on Youtube - I think it's too rough.

  • hermosoo verdaderamente hermosos

  • loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove it <3

  • mendelsshon is like beethoven meets mozart for some reason.

  • The less bow you use, the more weight and speed you can get.

  • he needs to use more of his bow....but i can't complain, great perfomance :)

  • @lovebug93 then you should tell this to Hahn, Zukerman, Mintz etc etc..funny...lol

  • @trogerhunter , no need to be sarcastic, just repeating what my own extremely knowledgable and experienced violin teacher had previously told me. i would never ever question the brilliance of any of these violinists, whom i look up to and admire. this is a brilliant performance no doubt, as i previously mentioned, and this is just my own opinion, which worked for me in my own performance of this piece (please keep in mind there is more than one way of interpreting a piece...)

  • this reminds me of Vivaldi's four seasons. The sound is almost baroque in a way, at least for the solo part. A wonderful performance

  • Vivaldi????????? please, don't swear!

  • What are you even talking about? I meant that the performance was light and it shimmered, and the work has a very brilliant and energetic sound, characteristic of much of Mendelssohn's fast composition. The simplicity is certainly apparent when compared with the E minor concerto.

Besides, without Vivaldi's work on the concerto, Mendelssohn would have probably never written his violin concerti in the way that we have them today.

  • Not to mention, just because you dislike a composer doesn't mean that a comparison of aspects of that composer's work with that of another is incorrect.

  • I don't dislike Vivaldi, I'm a fan of him! But, in my opinion Mendelssohn is very different from Vivaldi and all his epoque!

  • Mendelssohn lives up to his own glory after all. Hadn't heard this piece before. Of course Barati is fantastic. And this orchestra is wonderful too!

  • woah

never new that he wrote another violin concerto :O

  • amazing! thanks a lot :D

  • que putita

  • great, as usual
