I never thought of approaching the low end like Charles suggests. I'm going to re-visit some of my old mixes that had low end problems and apply this technique. Interestingly enough most of those mixes did have Acoustic Guitar and Piano on them. I am loving this show. Thank you Dave for all that you and your crew have done here.

You should definitely listen to what they need, not a default value!

How about bringing someone who's mixing rock and metal. That's extremely hard to mix and deliver to sound professional. Mixing hip hop and r'n'b is just too easy. Drop it like it's hot has 3 sounds in the song. That's lap top music. Thusmbs up for people like Puig and Barresi. Randy Staub is THE BEST but I guess he is unreachable.

I like this Show but this Episode 16 is My best so far Due To the two great guests Charles Dye and Phil Tang. I kind of get more inspiration from Charles cos I do Only in the box mix and to hear him getting in the box mix He did to No1 spot on the Chart makes it inspirational to me that not only records mixed on Big consoles can get into The Charts.

Wow, I didn't know either one of those two guys... probably because I don't listen to any of the music they are mixing... BUT this was great info for me, and I mean GREAT! Maybe you should bring up Alan Moulder or Michael Brauer... those guys handle the low end quite different than Charles and Phil in my opinion and I guess Hip Hop/RnB people could learn a whole lot from their approach.
