  • The Red Bird from Angry Birds is Deffinetly a Cardinal.

  • Angry Birds are real :O

  • actualy the red bird from angry birds is inspired from this red cardinal bird species...anyway doesnt loock angry, just constipated...poor bird

  • Angry birds?

  • He'd leave if it wasn't for the damn force field in the way.

  • What a gentle soul.

I've had birds stuck in the house before. They get panicked, stunned and seem a bit dumb for a bit, then they fly free! What a sweetie you are to that pretty cardinal!

It left such a nice present. Dontcha know that is good luck? :)

  • i think its stunned from the window collision.. maybe brain hemmorhaging.

  • u coulda put the damned video cam down and took it outside with a cloth

  • it was as if he turned around to say, "well now im kinda liking you :( why do i need to leave???"

  • That was nice of you too help him. He was probably really tired and wanted to rest. Plus being scarred. I'm glad he did not get hurt. Cardinals are such beautiful birds.

  • he was like waaaiit a minute its nice in there...

  • you are not texas man right ~lol

  • Thank you so much for your entertaining audio as you helped that bird to freedom. If he comes back to leave you another small gift please do make another video. haven't laughed this hard in a long time.

  • poor bird! are you crazy?! it could have died, you know it? you 'd have opened window as fast as soon.

  • Adorable! Thanks for sharing <3

  • Haha Will u come help us get the creeper bird out of our house?? PLz?! Me my mom and my brother hate birds and r scared of them!!

  • the bird got a shock and you could not stop to stress it for a second. :(

  • That is truly amazing, I can't get 30' near one of these before it flies off...

  • poor guy was terrified =[

  • hah screen dump

  • that is a realy scared bird!

  • Cooooooool!

  • Mordecai dyed himself red?

  • he was in shock for a few minutes I guess

  • Shut the blinds - leave the door open... Geez, not that hard to figure out.

  • Ahahahahaha!!!! "he took a dump on my screen".... That is natures deed of the day against that wretched thing known as technology :P (I love technology).

  • i think he just liked you

  • the Cardinal is like nahh man you trying to trick me... theres another window rite thereeee -.-!!

  • That bird was glitching out IRl

  • blue slug bug no slug bugs back!

  • Dad theres a bird in the house. WHAT DO YOU MEAN A BIRD!? Well I opened up the door and he just flew in and and... HOLY SHIT

  • you talking to a bird...

  • @mau571 You talking to a video... Derp :P.

  • @Missioneer >:O!!

  • Aww, I'm so glad you helped the little bird!

  • I'd be willing to bet this bird suffered a concussion, and that's why it appears disoriented even after exiting the window. You should have put the camera down and helped it out.

  • Aww, he just wanted to hang out with you! How cute. I recently put a bird feeder on my apartment balcony and I see all types of birds, but the Cardinal and Blue Jays are my favorite!

  • Funny: go play,go play,Go see you biddies,Go eat sumthing

  • aw what a silly bird

  • nice vid! I love to see red birds!

  • Angry bird1

  • You handled it so well. If only you knew it wasn't responding to any of your good deeds because it was recooperating from getting suddenly hit in the face multiple times without even understanding why and working so hard to get out of something he's probably never been in before. Nonetheless, nice video. You're hilarious.

  • LOL! thanks or the poop. how is your daughter?

  • @RubyAkiou She's doing great! I need to show her this video sometime as I can guarantee she doesn't remember it. Thanks for asking.

  • @dennisbaldwin do you and RubyAkiou know each other

  • Ive had this happen at my house also. If a bird is trying to escape your house and it accidently flies into a window be aware that the bird will be stunned for 5 to 10 minutes. Even if you then open the window or the door for it to escape just let it sit there for however long it needs to re-gain its senses. After it re-gains its awareness it will fly out on its own. There's no need to push it or poke at it to get it to leave. Remember it's stunned.

  • I would have crushed it with something heavy and posted it on youtube just to piss people off.

  • @RebelTbone

I know this is mean, but people like you need to be purged from the human race. If you were the bird, how would you like to be crushed and posted to youtube as you mentioned?

  • I know this video is old, and it is possible someone has said this already. But at first the cardinal was probably stunned, and he was also tired. He had his mouth open because he was panting, as birds, like dogs, do not sweat. A possible reason he did not fly away at first was because he was confused. But I was so happy to see him take off, I was worried.

  • 1:47 lol eggs in the background

  • i've got one of those crazy red birds running onto my window and chirping loudly until i wake up then he flys into the tree, then when someone goes to the bathroom he'll fly down and watch them, today as i was coming back from the store someone pulled up beside me as i was walking to tell me a red bird was on my sholder it was him,i knew it was because his beak is colored yellow from when he dipped his beak in my paint yesterday,i love that bird he's just so random.

  • @burn19ballz that is really very incredibly interesting. animals have such odd behaviour!

  • concussion hahahah

  • The bird is sevearly stressed and knocked silly from impact on the windows trying to get out. He just needed some recooperation time. :)

  • lol he stopped trying halfway through the video

  • I think you handled the situation as best you could. Those people who say let the bird figure it out don't realize that the bird will freak out if they can't get out. I have had a junco get into my home and she injured herself flying into a wall of all things (while I was opening all the windows) and broke 1/3 of her beak off. I had to physically restrain her and stop the blood flow so she wouldn't injure herself more. Fortunately I know she lived because I have seen her since at my feeder.

  • @Ratraccoon Thanks for the info. Cool story. I have not been through any formal bird training so it was kind of ad-libbed :) I see Cardinals all the time in our backyard and hopefully one of them is him.

  • At that point he was probably in shock and exhausted. You can see his mouth open breathing heavily. Glad he's free.

  • the bird did not wanna leave because he commited a Crime on ur laptop

  • why didint u pet it

  • thats so sad the bird wanted to stay at the last minute i should ive kept him

  • when u opened the door the bird is like wth i know thats a trap and it stoped

  • awwww this video put a smile on my face.i love cardinals they are such a beautiful bird! wow i can't beleive how it didn't want to fly away.i think he was in a state of shock or something when he seen the window open.wow you got super close and the bird was eyed you up and not even being scared at that point.yes thats also as close as ill get to one of those after seeing your video.lol i woke up a few months back to a sparrow inside the house kept flying into the windows.then flew out the door

  • lol he was probably shocked.

  • very nice story

  • What a dumb bird! Commentaries.. PRICELESS!!!

  • Sure the Card would have liked to take a break of that tough outside...

  • That's a cute birdie!

I have one that also visit my backyard too but it's so lucky that he wanna visit your house and don't wanna leave!

  • how did it get in ur house?

  • That's a funny video, beautifull little bird! And he shat on your PC! Brilliant! It's meant to be lucky you know! Bird shit! I got shat on by a big black Rook the other day, I knew he was gonna do it, he eyeballed me all the way down the road! Then dropped it on my head! I found 10 cents later on, not really worth it. How much would you get if an Elephant shat on yer head?

  • I PUT THIS VID ON FAVORITES ( :

  • not gonna lie when he mashed against the window i couldnt stop laughing! But what a cool bird!!! Glad to see he flew away!

  • RedBird, that's a fine Christian name... Hans Redbird Anderson

  • What a lovely video - and thank you so much for sharing. We recently had a similar thing happened when a jay flew into our house, but our story didn't have a happy ending. We quickly caught the bird and opened the door to toss it into the air so it could fly away free. We soon found out why it had been desperate enough to fly into the open window when, as it was trying to get it's wings working properly, it was snatched out of the air by a falcon that had been waiting on the roof for it to show.

  • 4:52 you can hear the cops in the background chasing for it

  • Dude! Here in San Antonio it's about 41 degrees and it's the 224th of January, and there are 3 Cardinals and 2 Blue-jays in my back yard. These birds are hanging around my house year round. Some days I can see 5 or 6 different Cardinals of both sexes hanging around and flying from tree to tree in my yard. They seem to do that when I'm at my grandma's too. They don't show up there unless I'm there for some reason. No one else I know has ever had so many of these birds around at once ALL THE TIME!

  • just let the bird chil around wtf xD

  • Hi, Dennis! I'd say this was the best uninvited house guest you could ever have (even though he did leave you a "present")! Yeah, you can't get much closer to a cardinal than this. Why, I could actually make out the pupil of his eye at the 5:00 mark. I had to laugh when you were blowing on him trying to get him to move. I'll bet he was thinking "Hey, don't muss up the crest!" Seriously though, congratulations on a job well done, and thanks for sharing this with us!

  • @iswc27 Thanks for the comment and sometimes we get enjoyment from the most unexpected things! A Cardinal in my house was definitely an unexpected surprise when we got home.

  • throw a fucking beer at it, then start swinging at it with a broom. the right way.

  • "Thanks for the poop." LOL! I really enjoyed this video.

  • Check out the cardinal that attacked my window all summer long, search for the video "Birdie at my window" on my channel.

  • i have that same chair outside my house!

  • It was these pastel colored eggs on the table outside that intrigued the bird. He was staying close to them and didn't want to go away as if he were watching them. This behavior of staying around humans is truly odd for a wild bird and I see no other explanation. Didn't you think about that? What were these eggs doing there? was it an Easter candy?

Once I was wearing a brooch on my lapel, that represented a large beetle, and a waterbug flew and landed on my shoulder to check it out.

  • @Khamomil Very interesting. I didn't even think about the pastel colored eggs and yes this happened around Easter. They were just an Easter decoration.

  • wow that cardinal wanted to stay.

  • People are saying why didn't you do this and why didn't you do that, like grab a towel. blah blah blah.

I don't think there was any need for all that. You did fine and kept calm and gently guided the bird to the open window. You didn't have to handle it and you allowed the bird to figure it out for itself. It took a while but it was happy to fly to the tree and it all ended well.

A really cool video, I enjoyed it.

  • @65Britishbulldog Haaaa! You're right. I could've pulled out the Red Ryder. Thanks!

  • Comment removed

  • LOL... As my sister would say, "Dumbass bird!" XD

  • Lol it on strike at 1:36 till 5:26

  • I have a question for you...

"Why do birds, suddenly appear, everytime you are near?" lol

    BOP

  • Wish I was there:)

I love all of the close-ups!

I think it was a young one and was listening for "mom" to call, to know where to go, maybe?

Thank you for posting this video, I really enjoyed it:)

    BOP

  • Hi. I'm a cardinal, and I'm a PC.

I'd name that bird Bill Gates.

He wouldn't move..his Windows must have crashed.

  • @keoten DOUBLE THUMBS UP!

  • @keoten Like!

  • @keoten Like!

  • aww he was breathing so hard

  • he forgot what it was like to be outside

  • this is one funny vid Dennis, honestly i was laughing the whole time. nice vid

  • I would have to say he's worth two in the bush. haha

  • That poor thing! it must of been like "Where the heck was I?" lol. Def. tired and stressed.

  • lolol stupid cardinal how the hec did he get in???

    \

  • I've had nightmares about this...

  • I think he was a P.C fan~

  • Closing the curtains would have had him out in five min. He would have gone towards the light outside

  • Kept having this problem when I first started feeding Blue Jays.

  • Thank you for helping him. The poor thing was stressed...

  • he could have been hiding from a preditor. Last time a bird flew in my garage cuz he was hiding from a hawk. Hawks prey on morning doves and other small birds...

  • That poor thing was exhausted.

  • A wondrful person with a wonderful voice!

  • I think it was attracted 2 u! =-) lol

  • Lol this is halarious and at the end it was in shock

  • #4 They are wonderful, beautiful creatures, but very, very fragile. Regarding the other comments, I would not suggest netting. That can cause more trauma and damage. Just cover all windows other than the open one and the bird will find its way out on its own since it will see only one way out. Thanks.

  • @erl49

Although I like your post and feel that your intentions are well founded. I feel the need to tell you that I am MAN and I am MASTER or this world. Understand, we all love the Robin.. But the buddha says, sometimes things happen for specific reasons. The teachings of the Buddha say that this bird was lucky to encounter this gentle soul that let him release.. Had he encountered others ( fearful American women is first that come to mind ) he would have been slaughtered.

    The Enlightened 1

  • #3 Some people have found nests with baby birds, and held the branches back just enough to snap a pic, but the human scent on the branches near the babies will cause the adults to abandon the babies. No human scent please! By the way, it's best not to speak to the bird. They are already traumatized, and besides, they don't understand English. Please learn more about birds.

  • #2Birds cannot see glass and crashing into it causes internal damage to the bird. (It's why he sat so long on the ledge; he was somewhat injured.)

They are flying with a certain amount of force, only to have their bodies rammed into their neck/head/beak when they hit the glass. It's a head-on collision. I know you meant well, but..... Also, and so very importantly, NEVER blow on the bird! Human scent on the bird will make it rejected by the other birds.

  • #1 The author of this video asked me to post my note to him and so I am doing so. There is a character limit so it will be in numbered chunks. Your video of the cardinal in your house saddened me deeply. I felt so sorry for the bird because everything was done wrong to help him out, although I'm sure you meant well. If a bird ever gets in your house again, please, please first cover all the windows except the open one.

  • next time throw atowel over it and just take it outside its the quickest and least stressfulw ay to get the birds out.. too cute he like syer home LOL

  • next time throw atowel over it and just take it outside its the quickest and least stressfulw ay to get the birds out

  • "Now just hold on. I kinda like your house after all. What if I don't wanna leave?"

  • acually its a female cuz it has gray on it .

  • Good thing he didn't shit too much on that screen xD

  • i saw this red bird before

  • the birds confused already from trying to go through the window.

  • the window looks so clean...I dont blame the bird. I woulda flew right into it if i was bird before i knocked myself uncontious(sp?) but lolz if i was a bird...what would i be doin in ur house anyway?

  • 3:45 was the moment of pure dignity and freedom in that birds life. He did not "want to go play."

You helped a lot, God bless! Poor little bird.

  • Next Time, for This OR Just About Any Other Bird: Draw the Blinds & Turn the Lights Off. You need to make it as Dark as possible as Most Birds will go into a much more docile/relaxed state. Then: get a Towel, Drape it over him (OR Her, just in case Gloria Allred reads this) and pick him up while wrapped in the towel. Be careful because even a House Sparrow can Break Skin (BTW..... if it is a House Sparrow, just get a BB Gun and put the Filthy Little Bastard Out of their Misery!!

  • You know you could have just grabbed it with your hands, opened the door and avoided all this trouble.

  • That is something else! What a beautiful bird. Thanks for sharing.

  • Beautiful birds, got blue jays and cardinals and oreols flying everywhere around here in islip terrace

  • the whole time im thinking his doors open and what if another one flys in while hes trying to get this one out

  • @crapatitus Yeah no doubt and then the other would take a poo on my iPhone!

  • You're so lucky!

  • lol blowing on the bird to get him to fly off

oh well, he finally made it out!

  • "what is the deal? go!"

  • You must of used windex on your windows tehe.

  • @17juicycouture LOL good one

  • LOL @ the bird's "present" :)

  • awww damn I wish they understood that we try to help them. Look how hard that poor thing is breathin it's scared out of its mind.

  • lmao... he pooped on the screen. that;s funny

  • there is a bird in my garage right now i have been trying to help him get out but he will not even go near the door

  • if its red a boy if brown girl

  • Lol that bird looks like it's just want to mess with you XD.

  • "Thanks for the poop!" was the best part.

  • LOL he must have been stunned. His face was like :V...

  • PUNCH BUGGIE NO PUNCH BACK!!!!

  • A well a everybody's heard about the bird

b-b-b-bird bird bird, bird is the word...

  • aww pick him up hehe

  • Native Americans figured a bird in the house means something is about to die. it seemed like this bird was disappointed to have to leave.

A bird flew into my house and stayed on the mantle for 3 days. it pooped on my wall and flew into a tree.

  • aww poor wild cardinal!

why didnt you jst get a towel and grab him and then put him on a branch or somethin?

  • that same thing happened to me but the bird flew into a fan and flew across the room and died =(

  • @AggenTails birds like to die in houses.

  • XD I act the same way when my mom tries to take me to the Dentist O_o

  • They aren't smart and EXTREMELY fragile. I've kept an injured one before. You have to put shades over the windows immediately so it won't break it's neck trying to fly out. Keep a door open nearby and guide it to it. Do this with any small bird that gets in your house.

  • That cardinal smoked too much weed man!

  • Aww, poor little guy! Looks like he might've been scared. He seemed pretty disoriented. I wish I could be that close to a Cardinal, though.

  • I heard cardinals can get so angry that the can actually die from it. Is that true?

  • leave the guy alone he did the right thing and let it go and helped it outside

  • Yeah, as stated he was probably a little shocked and possibly incurred some minor injury from thumping the window. I think you did as good a job as you could've with what you had at your disposal, and you were gentle with him and not overly fast and frightening. The second someone starts chasing these things, they can really take off.

Good job helping it get outside, and nice video.

  • nature can be so funny sometimes it is crazy

  • Great vid

  • I think you did a good job getting the bird out of your house. Geez, did you notice how he was panting when he was flying into your window over and over? Poor little guy.

  • @MelissaDotBartley Yeah totally. He was completely out of his element.

  • guys dont hate on this vid ;o this is simply amazing

  • That poor bird is in terrible shock, that's why it is standing there on the sill. Your jeering made it worse. if you had simply netted it immediately then released it outside you would have save yourself a lot of trouble and the bird a lot of misery.

  • @muckraker87 I don't think I was "jeering", but maybe your definition is different than mine. I never taunted or shouted at the bird. The next time there is a cardinal inside my house, and I have a net handy, I'll be sure to take your advice.

  • you could try to feed it, and get it in your hand, then release him outside! This video reminds me of John 10 verse 9!

  • This evening, I had a swallow fly into my house. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.

  • He's fucking tired u idiot. Can't u c he needs a breather b4 he flys out.

  • @GeminiPanda855 No I didn't realize that. Are you the Bird Whisperer?

  • @dennisbaldwin no, im the bird whisperer, he wants a nacho and a shezburgah. (thats how cardinals pronounce it)

  • Aww he is so adorable! You are so lucky to have this bird come into your house. Ha, besides the fact that he crapped on some of your stuff. This cardinal is acting strange. I wonder what is wrong with him.

  • thx for freeing me. - BUD

  • im not trolling but fyi how much u talk to that bird that thing will not talk back. -BUD

  • @ipodtouchfreak12345 Really? I'll keep that in mind the next time a bird flies into my house.

  • @ipodtouchfreak12345 I think talking to animals is kind of a human instinct, though.
