  • i live in nashville tennessee/ the flood was traumatizing

  • Hypocritical Christians so easily say that God judges gays. They say that AIDS was the proof. Why can't I have my opinion? The floods are God's judgement of Nashville for the harm they cause gay people in America. It's obvious. I'm sorry that people had friends that were devastated by the flood. Pray that the hypocrites stop their judgements. God tells all not to judge.

  • @OutoftheClosetTV Man! U have no right to put something like that here.

The floods were awful and people lost thier lives and thier homes..

I'm born and bred here and u seem to be the one judging.

Nobody cares if your gay or not. Keep it to yourself if u don't want people judging u~

  • @beretta1342000 Are you serious. Christians have no right to share that their Christian. Tell a Christian that. LOL. It's just the truth. The flood in Nashville were the results of anti-gay Christians who preach against homosexuality. God will continue to judge those who choose to judge instead of loving your neighbor as yourself. I pray for the souls of Nashville to repent.

  • @OutoftheClosetTV One more thing Beretta, I just visited your home page. You have clearly stolen video images and illegally are sharing them on your home page. The Bible says not to steal or lie. How can you do that. God will continue to judge those who steal without thought of others.

  • Nice video, Looks and sounds like you have a really good camera.

  • my house was lost in the flood

  • muy padre video

  • wow i just moved away frome the lakes of bellvue in 09

  • you should have seen my yard. and the people stranded.

  • @TheHadesShade Huntwick Trail is an excellent location to avoid flooding. The geography of the neighborhood is also known as a Dell (small valley). Because the landform rises with a relative precipitous slope, the road is the only feature to suffer the consequences, as it is the nadir of the Dell.

  • is there any chance that you upload a map of the land height of Nashvilli?

    thanks

  • @TheHadesShade Sorry, I don't have any more access to something like that than you would. I can tell you that our homes on this street are between 50-70 feet higher than street level.

  • Here's a taste of things to come -- a deadly heat wave across the Indian subcontinent.

    .

    paul.kedrosky.com/archives/2010/05/india_temperatu.html

    .

"Record temperatures in northern India have claimed hundreds of lives in what is believed to be the hottest summer in the country since records began in the late 1800s.

    .

The death toll is expected to rise with experts forecasting temperatures approaching 50 C (122 F) in coming weeks."

  • I stated earlier this was the Cumberland River, but actually it's the Harpeth River, which is a major tributary of the Cumberland. My error, sorry for any confusion! The Cumberland flooded also, it caused the flooding in downtown Nashville and by the Opryland Hotel areas. I understand what @substanti8 is saying, but there are lots of greenways and bike paths, just not everywhere. We're getting there, it's just going to take time. First, we rebuild, then we improve.

  • @rockinredneck57

    .

Think outside of the automotive "box" --

    bikesatwork. com/hauling-cargo-by-bike/ household-move-by-bike.html

  • @substanti8 I forgot to add planes as well. You can't fly a glider that size across the country. Bikes at work. Right. I guess all the construction work can be done by bike? Haul in all the materials needed to build a house or a building by bike? Go right ahead and get your bike buddies and give it a try. Be my guest. Then haul it up several flights by hand too. You know, things that weigh a ton or more that have to have a (gasp!) crane that uses fossil fuel. Good luck with that.

  • @rockinredneck57

    .

"things that weigh a ton or more that have to have a crane that uses fossil fuel."

    .

Your pig-headed ignorance is breathtaking. According to your motorhead logic, there were no houses (or Egyptian pyramids) before motor vehicles were invented.

  • Hi..i am doing a slide presentation and I was wondering if I could use part of your video for the opening. It really fits what I am doing. I would be glad to send you a link once it is done. Thank you for sharing and I sure hope you are all ok.

  • "Tennessee Teardrops" song for the Nashville Rising Event !

please utube the Red Cross fund raising song!

  • @lixerlax1 We'd best stay away from places where divers go, then.

  • Well it's been a few weeks and there is still much needed here. I am so sad to see all these horrible comments that some people feel the need to be little others. I only hope that when the day comes and they have to answer for the remarks they made that God knows who they are and that you will receive your punishment 10 folds. What people do sexually is between them and God to judge! And pray you don't have to face what Tenn. has had to deal with.

  • Obama money,it isn't his to give. Everyone seems to forget, he has to take it from somewhere first. It is so easy to give when it is not yours in the first place.

  • this is what mason city,ia looked like in june of '08

  • A very good job on the video thanks for sharing this with those of us who was not there to realise the severity of the flood.

  • Tide Loads for Hope trucks are coming to

Nashville on Wednesday, May 12. The Tide staff will wash, dry and fold

clothes for those who might need it. If you know someone who needs

this free service, please contact Tide at 800-879-8433 (press 0 for the

operator) and let them know Nashville needs Loads of Hope. The more

calls they receive, the bigger the priority we will become. They'll ask

    for contact information

  • amazing video. thanks for sharing.

  • you tell them nuklearfish! I read that FEMA was begging people to call them because people were taking care of their problems AND helping others. One group went into one area with water and lunches and people were saying no, don't give it to us - go down the street they need it more! I am amazed at the way these people are taking care of business and also helping each other. They are strong people.

  • Nice video. Thumbs up.

    .

I see a huge storm and a flood, but I also see an unsustainable landscape that contributes to the problem. I see what appears to be a six-car garage. 0:21

    .

I see no safe place for bicycling or walking any significant distance. Apparently, everyone in the neighborhood burns petroleum to go anywhere. That dumps carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, which contributes to the slowly unfolding climate catastrophe.

    .

Not shown is the huge unsustainable mansion behind your house.

  • .

Severe and bizarre weather will become more frequent and more intense as a direct result of increased heat and moisture in the atmosphere. That conclusion is based on decades of scientific research.

    .

    climateprogress. org/category/extreme-weather

    tnr. com/article/politics/ the-crisis-comes-ashore

    .

People drowned in their cars -- which is very sad but also ironic. It's time to stop burning fossil fuels ASAP.

    .

This was another wake up call.

  • @substanti8 IF you feel that way, see if your pal Al Gore can donate some of the money he's gotten off the American people with his FAKE global warming SCAM.

  • @substanti8 I suppose you use nothing that depends on coal or oil? Like perhaps the computer you're using which has plastics made from oil. Or the electricity to run it which likely came from coal. You don't drive a car, do you? In addition to exhaust fumes, I smell hypocrisy.

  • @dkstruska

    .

Gosh ... you're right. Only people who monastically isolate themselves entirely from the modern world have a right to complain one bit.

    .

That smell is your steaming pile of fallacy.

  • @substanti8 You say "It's time to stop burning fossil fuels ASAP." Why don't you do your part? Smells like hypocrisy to me.

  • @dkstruska

    .

Not that it's relevant to the argument, but my carbon footprint is probably far smaller than yours.

    .

When global warming deniers spew rhetorical fecal matter, it reminds me that they have neither a conscience nor continence.

  • @substanti8 You're right, that's completely irrelevant. I'm not the one calling for a cessation of the burning of fossil fuels. I notice you jump to conclusions about me while not actually knowing me at all. You assume my carbon footprint is larger than yours, you assume I deny global warming, you assume I have no conscience, and you assume I lack control of bodily functions.

I guess when you're losing an argument, the way to go is to personally attack your opponent.

  • @dkstruska . "jump to conclusions" . Yes, that would be YOU, since you're the one who accused me of hypocrisy without having the slightest bit of information about my lifestyle. Your original comment is a classic example of the "ad hominem tu quoque" fallacy. . "personally attack your opponent" . Again, look at yourself. You have nothing to say about the substance of my argument. . I think Wal-Mart sells mirrors; you seem to need one.
  • @substanti8 Perhaps you should re-read my original comment. I jumped to no conclusions about which I had no information. The fact that you are on the internet is a pretty good indication that you are using a computer (or some kind of computing device.) The fact that your device is working is a pretty good indication that you are using electricity. I didn't say you use a car, but simply asked.

  • @dkstruska

    .

Nice brick wall. Again, you have nothing to say about the substance of my argument.

    .

What part of "ad hominem" do you not grasp?

  • @substanti8 Speaking of not grasping, my point was not that global warming or climate change is non-existent, nor that we must stop burning fossil fuels. My point was that you do not believe what you said enough to put it into practice.

  • @dkstruska

I guess he's using peddle power to provide electricity to his house.

Just another person who you can't reason with. I recommend reading the newest book from Glenn Beck. It really describes people like Substanti8 without hurting there feeling. Well sought of....... :)

  • @mojame100

You claim the high ground of "reason" and then you recommend ... Glenn Beck????????

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ...

    It's another fine Dunning-Kruger moment.

  • @substanti8

And who do you recommend??? Keith Olberman the Liberal Clown??

  • @mojame100 . First of all, global warming is primarily a scientific issue, not a political one. The laws of thermodynamics couldn't care less about taxes or ideology. So get your information from scientific sources, not political ones. . For example: . Goddard Institute for Space Studies giss.nasa.gov . U.S. Geological Survey geochange.er.usgs.gov . National Snow and Ice Data Center nsidc.org . And this seven-part lecture by a climate scientist is packed with information: watch?v=yCxkxNRBl0A
  • @substanti8

Try to get Al Gore or Nancy Pelosi to reduce their carbon footprint. Global warming is about one thing - redistributing the wealth. Take from the rich and give to the poor. Raise everyone's taxes because of a scam that is being foisted on the American public. Kind of like the Obamacare bill that was forced down America's throats.

  • @h4rryp4lmer

    .

Your cognition of science is blocked by your reactionary ideology. This ain't the 20th century, and it's time to ditch the Libertoon bullshit.

    .

If you think Obama is forcing anything on you, wait and see what nature has in store you, Bubba.

  • @substanti8 OK, we stop burning fossil fuels today. How are we going to get across the country, much less across town? It's not feasible, not yet. Keep working at it, maybe some day, but not right now. It was a freak flood, a once in how many hundred years ordeal that none of us want to experience again. Global warming didn't cause this, just a stalled out weather system. If it had been winter, we would have gotten 20 inches or more of snow. That would have been just as bad for us. Thanks!

  • @rockinredneck57

    .

    "not right now"

    .

A sign of addiction is the inability to acknowledge the urgency of changing immediately or ASAP, not when it's convenient.

    .

    "much less across town"

    .

Unless you're crippled, too old, or too young, you should be able to bicycle across town. Step away from the potato chips and the remote.... :-D

  • @substanti8 I don't know about you, but I have a thing against riding a bike 20 miles to work and 20 miles back in Nashville traffic when it's 98 degrees outside. You go right ahead and bike. I'm going to continue to drive my air conditioned full size pickup. Unlike you, when I get to work, I have to use my truck as a work vehicle. I can't ride to work with a toolbox on a bike. Just doesn't work for me. But you be my guest and go right ahead.

  • @rockinredneck57 Why not get a smaller vehicle? Or one that runs on LPG? Or a motor bike? At lest make the effort.

  • @Kinkspace NO. I like my truck. I like my hot rods. They burn high octane fuel. If I have to explain the smell of high octance fuel to you, you'd never understand anyway. I use my truck for work. I'm not a soccer mom or dad with an Escalade they don't need. I like a muscle car that gets about 7 mpg on a good day. Go drive your Prius and leave the rest of us alone!

  • @rockinredneck57

    .

    "leave me alone"

    .

NO ... because your actions are fucking up the world. Grow up.

  • @rockinredneck57 In England we would call that 'small cock syndrome' :))

  • @rockinredneck57

    .

If you live that far from work, then I suggest you change were you work or where you live.

    .

I stopped driving 15 years ago. If you're going to use a hotter climate as an excuse to drive more, then we have a positive feedback loop here.

    .

The bottom line is that your actions contribute to the destruction of habitat for future generations. What will your grandchildren think of you?

  • @substanti8 My work could be anywhere around the Nashville area. It's not that easy to find good, steady work. And, no, I will not trade my truck on a smaller vehicle. My grandchildren will think that grandpa is cool. I happen to like my truck very much, thank you. I am not going to go propane, it's too difficult to find it when you need it. I am not going to move, I happen to like where I live. Why do I need to change anything? I haul stuff in my truck very often. Can't do that in a small car.

  • @rockinredneck57

    .

"My grandchildren will think that grandpa is cool."

    .

You offer no reason for anyone to believe that at all. It's much more likely that they'll regard you as a self-centered #^*% who willingly participated in the trashing of their world -- for the sake of continuing your lifestyle of lavish energy consumption. They'll be ASHAMED to be descended from someone so oblivious to intergenerational injustice that he actually said things like:

    .

"Why do I need to change anything?"

  • "Why do I need to change anything?"

"My grandchildren will think that grandpa is cool."

    .

    climateprogress. org/wp-content/uploads/2009/07 /southeast-heatwaves-usgcrp.gif

  • @substanti8 Whether you realize it or not, trucks of all sizes are cool. All the organic food you eat is brought in by a truck.. Anything that is moved anywhere uses fossil fuel. Ships, trains, trucks, they all burn fuel. Your suggestion to stop using it will shut down the world. Then I guess you'll be happy. Don't forget ttoo that farmers, even organic farmers use fossil fuel in their tractors to plow the land to grow the crops you eat. Guess you haven't thought this through completely.

  • @rockinredneck57 . "trucks are cool" . Right, because some redneck #^*% on YouTube said so. Nice try. . "All the organic food you eat is brought in by a truck." . Wrong. I grow a significant amount of my own food. Strike two. . "Anything that is moved anywhere uses fossil fuel." . Except that I already posted evidence of people moving household furniture and appliances by bicycle. Strike three. Before you accuse others of having "not thought this though completely," I suggest you get a mirror.
  • @substanti8 well if you can find him another job other than the one he has then please do so, if not don't trash the man for trying to provide for his family. life is hard now. god bless

  • @rockinredneck57 Well substanti8 is right, as the oceans heat up for every 1deg 4% more moisture will be in the atmosphere, this means more precipitation, be that rain or snow in the winter.

  • @substanti8 Fosil fuels warm your stupid ass, and yet you rail against it. You cry about it and Demand that people no longer use it, but you have no alternative to replace it, nothing reliable, nothing that will take it's place at the same level of efficiency...Al Gore don't either...Please stop your foolishment.

  • @jalsante75 And you, very obviously I might add, aren't thinking about what you are saying...are you seriously defaming the folks that made this video for how they decided to spend their money? If they want 20 cars and a 40 car garage, what business, exactly, is it of your's? Mind your business...This isn't a socialist country...What a freak moron...

  • @jalsante75

    .

Your channel profile clearly shows that you are an uneducated, anti-science, far-right-wing religious lunatic who advocates the murder of your political opponents.

    .

You have no credibility and no evidence to support your views. Global warming is here, and it's caused by humans. Your ostrich-like denial won't change that fact.

  • @jalsante75

    .

"what business is it of your's?" [sic]

    .

When I am affected by the actions of another person, then those actions become my business. When people dump their waste into the commons, it becomes the "business" of the entire society.

    .

This isn't the 18th century on the Frontier. You don't get to do whatever you want in the world. Grow up.

  • @substanti8 haha. global warming??..you were kidding right??..probably not, just another dumbed down sheeple who isnt able to think critically..didnt you hear about climategate??..how about john coleman(founder of the weather channel) and 30,000 scientists(9,000 of which are phds) telling you its a hoax..stop being a nwo ball gagger and wake up

  • @substanti8 you assume too much from this video. My wife and I each own one car. Our neighborhood consists of one 1/2 mile street, which we all use to walk and ride our bikes on. Please don't use this video for a soapbox for your agenda, regardless of what it may be.

  • @nuklearfish "soapbox for your agenda" . Well, excuse me for speaking some plain truth here. You live in suburbia. 4:10 Suburbia is not sustainable. . "street we all use to walk on" . Right ... there are no sidewalks. The infrastructure for miles around is all centered (and dependent) upon motor vehicle use -- which, in turn, was a major contributor to this flood -- and floods to come. . It's all connected, whether we like that or not.
  • @substanti8 What you fail to realize, not having been there is that the Cumberland River overflowed its banks. in certain spots, the waters came out of the banks nearly 1/4 mile and 6 feet high. My friend, that is a lot of water. These were nice homes, not the uber rich. This was not in a flood plain either. These are single family homes and condos in a nice neighborhood. An entire neighborhood was destroyed in this flood, and that's just in this single area. Don't judge when you have no clue.

  • @rockinredneck57

Suburbia is not sustainable, and the addiction to motor vehicles is a major source of greenhouse gas -- which warms the Earth -- which leads to more intense storms (exactly like the bizarre one that flooded Tennessee).

Despite your response, the affluence of the neighborhood is NOT my argument. Rather, it is likely that the car culture was partially responsible for the flood -- which makes it an example of ecological comeuppance. It was also a mere prelude of the future.

  • @substanti8

you mean the one that Big Gay Al uses for his living quarters?

  • @substanti8 I'd like some proof that any of this is "unsustainable." Without proof, take your arrogant self out of the conversation. I'm wholly not impressed.

  • @substanti8 I feel like your comments are unsustainable, and unsustainability makes me unsustainably angry. Its sustainable, perhaps, to note that sustainablitity is sustainable...... and honestly i have no idea why the fuck you pointed out a six car garage in a condescending tone. that is in no way relevant to the video. Theres a flood, the man was filming it

  • @bamablood332 She did it because she is a Global Warmist, Green nazi who are pushing an agenda that the very oil and other corporations want, a carbon tax to save the world from what we exhale. The bizarre weather theory due to their carbon tax fraud of global warming was debunked by the author ot it.

  • Comment removed

  • @substanti8 What you see is 15 inches of rain in a little over 24 hours.

  • oh my god i thought kentucky got it bad but you all got it worse i want to help out,

  • This was an amazing video. It gives you a sense of the power of nature, and the resilience of man, and Tenneseeans, in one quiet piece. Ignore all the other noise. The strength of the people will overcome in this case as in all of the cases past. That's why we are still here.

  • this is the power of mighty God it is shown to those nonbelievers who just believe that there in No God

  • oh i bet nashville feels like the shit

  • @chemino5 I don't know what you are trying to say. We don't feel special, and we don't feel terrible. The overall attitude here is "Let's take care of each other and get back to normal asap".

  • @nuklearfish Im trying to say that i bet everyone is going through alot of stuff right now in Nashville so they might all feel bad and sad. But hey its good your all positive and helping each other. And i did read my last comment and it did sound like bad. Sorrry i forgot to take out "the"

  • @chemino5 - Nashville feels proud of the way we all pulled together and have overcome this disaster, that is how we feel!

  • OFTCtv~ do you even live in Nashville? I do not think you have a clue what you are talking about. The claims you have made about Nashville being homophobic are ridiculous. So many people are out and live their lives openly and comfortably. With total support from family and friends... and community. Get your facts straight.

  • @christmas254 Obama has approved aid for us. He was on the phone with the Governor within hours.

  • @nuklearfish Yeah right! Actions speak a lot louder than words. What was it they said after New Orleans? Let's change a name or two.... "Obama hates white people!!!"

  • excuse me mr out of the closet i cant believe you would post such of a thing about nashville. i live about 20 miles from there and it is absolutely horrifying what happened there. in case you didnt know gay people are ALL OVER THE COUNTRY and jus because you are gay does not mean that you can say something like that about tennessee. you will be the one getting yours on judgement day asshole! and to everyone reading this from nashville god bless you and all of us. WE WILL OVERCOME THIS=]

  • What a Douche bag Mr. Out of the Closet! It takes a sad sorry human being to try to make a political statement out of such a horrible natural disaster! Really, Really! People lost homes and life during this! Really sad for you!

  • @OutoftheClosetTV Considering that the seven Noahide laws which are binding on all mankind since before the great flood of Noah's time, that one of the forbidden acts is homosexuality. If judgement about "homo" anything is the cause of the Nashville flood, then it's the cause not of homophobia, but homosexuality.

  • @OutoftheClosetTV Unbelievable what some people will post. I almost had two friends caught in the underwater parking lot that was I-24 where people died. Your asinine comments negate anything sympathetic about our great city. How dare you.

  • Oh my I've been watching this on news channels I can find. My husband and I lived about a mile from Vandy It is amazing.

  • the effects of haarp is catastrophic from earthquakes to severe weather along with seasonal shifts its the ultimate weapon conspirocy theorist now claim this was the effect of russian haarp test in denmark and norway gone bad couple months ago and it may take years for the climate to change back to the way it was the atmosphere ionization was seen all over the world with utube and cnn and you know the theory says more is to come because the earth has shifted axis by 1 deg woe be to ye naysyers

  • Comment removed

  • nice vid.. gotta love mother nature the ambient tune you have going in the back ground and the sound of the water go well

  • I don't know what's worse, the flood or the smell that's around nashville now.

  • @SparkinNparkin The smell is pretty bad. Imagine your house and everything inside of it smelling like that

  • its hard to take in that this is where i live.smh

  • wow thats alot of water. nice camera work, glad you are safe.

  • incredible. flooding has got to be one of the worst natural disasters.

  • crazy

  • You are all lucky but this is still horrable that this happened. I hope you are doing well. Thank you for taking the time to film this, this is intense, it is strang what heppened but we will get through it. k
