  • I just want to say thanks for the great tutorial! IMHO, it's the best one on YouTube.

I would just ask one question, I have a the same brand of drill (Skil) I believe but mine is only 12 volts. Is there a minimum power requirement need for drilling holes, and if so, what do you recommend?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    : )

  • @MiamiModz I am sure you will be fine.

  • luv the ending :)

  • @linkgun1 Thanks

  • Hooray for the Cable Management videos! I can't seem to find anyone besides you and TJHarlow that shows good videos covering this. Thanks a bunch!

  • Thanks buddy, Tj is a master!

  • thanks LazyMan, yes would he like Half price cheaper in States but dont knw any Comp shops that Ship internationaly. Any good suggestions ?

  • Check out Amazon, I believe they ship around the globe.

I use Amazon all the time, they can sometimes beat places like Newegg and Tiger Direct.

    LazyMan ;-)

  • this is probly best thing to do. buy a cheap case and mod the cable management. :D

  • Yeah, it really don't matter what case you buy, there will always be some modding required if you want the best cable mgmt. possible. This TT Armor Plus case was about $200, so I guess thats cheap compared to some cases.

    Cheers

    LazyMan :-)

  • $200 USD lol, The Armor + is at $450 here in New Zealand, the average pay per Hr is only $13. so a $450 case aint cheap ().()

  • Wow, that crazy, would be cheaper to buy it from the states and pay the shipping?

    LazyMan :-)

  • I have watched lots of DIY mod videos and you are by far the best teacher and make it look so easy. Any recomendations of finished cases to look at of yours?

  • Sorry bro, been very busy lately with work, so I haven't had a chance to finish the Black Widow. So unfortunately there is no completed pics yet....Soon though And as far as other cases, I just recently got evolved with sharing my work on the web.

  • hey lazy man nice video.

would it be possible if you have time to make a video of your current gaming rig

    thanks

    mitchellspc

  • @mitchellspc If you're talking about the Storm Shadow, I will have a vid tonight. It's similar to this vid, showing the "Preparing the layout for cable mgmt".

    Cheers

    Lazyman :-)

  • Cheers mate! Just getting into computer building, and you've got a great DIY attitude with good explanations, you make it look possible!

I find the nitty gritty details of things, like this case modding for example, very interesting. It would be a very handy set of skills to have, to be able to do this at home, and have a pc fully customized to your liking/ originality. Rated, favourited, added to playlist and subbed. Looking forward to more videos. Thanks!

  • Thank you , I really appreciate your kind words, I should have a similar vid very soon on the Storm Shadow.

    Cheers

    LazyMan :-)

  • Sorry, glad you subbed, now you won't miss another one.

Plan on doing a similar vid with the Antec 1200 very soon.

    Cheers

    LazyMan :-)

  • LOL :-)

  • hahaha love the outtakes

  • Thanks

  • Sweet i was going to do this tomorrow! im happy i found this

  • Thanks bro, I hope this vid has helped you. Most of my vids are educational, just trying to share things I've learned. You should think about subbing, many more interesting vids to come.

    Cheers

    LazyMan :-)

  • Do you need special hole saw bits to cut metal?

  • It's not a special hole saw, but it need to be a bi-metal hole saw, which is pretty standard in any local hardware store. You can normally buy them in induvidual sizes or buy a set which has many different sizes.

  • Ok, thanks. I have some hole saw bits but I think they're only for wood. Is there any way to check if they are bi-metal, or should I just but a new set?

  • Check the ones you have they should say bi-metal on the hole saw itself. A mew set can be some what expensive, $50 - $100 depending on what brand you buy and how many different sizes come in the set.

If you only need a couple of sizes then by them individually for about $6- $8 each. and use the arbor and pilot bit you already have.

    Cheers

    LazyMan

  • I appreciate it bud. I have several folks helping me out...the visual is nice though. I don't post vids on here though...just watch em. :-D Shoot me your email if you'd like to see photos though once I'm done.

  • Sure, np

But what I meant was if you have any question send me a PM. I'll do whatever I can to help someone out, especially on their first build.

    my email is

    lazyman@westcoastmodz(dot)com thats with a "z" not a "s"

  • Cool man. Just finished my build for the most part. I'm going to lap my TRUE and reseat it with OCZ Freeze and see if that gives me some better temps.

Tried to email you some photos but it shot me back an error on your address.

Either way, again, thanks for this...it helped out a lot as far as the tools required and whatnot.

  • I just bought some thermal compound for testing. I will be doing a vid on it soon.

    !. Arctic Silver 5

    2.Liquid Metal

    3.OCZ Freeze

    4. Zalman Super Grease (already had)

    Which one is Supreme!

  • Hey, thanks for the tutorial! Going to Home Depot tomorrow for the hole saws since the ones I have are too large.

This'll be my first build, since I've been a Dell user for 15 years. Ha.

Just subscribed to you...good stuff man. Keep doing what you do.

  • good luck with your first build. If i can help in any way let me know. hope you post your progress.

  • hey bro brilliant pro job. what games do you play anyway? we can maybe play sometime :)

  • I prefer 1st person shooter games and racing of any type, but to be honest, I'm not a hard core gamer. I run in spurts, may not play a game for months, then something new comes out and I'm playing it every night, till i get bored or something else finds my attention. but when do play, I want to be able to max things out.

  • i think cable management is overated, i have a antec 900 and my cable management is sloppy as hell but it still looks great in the case, most people arent looking at your management anyways, lol they just see the fancy case and think its the coolest computer they have ever seen.

  • I disagree with you, not only does cable mgmt. help with air flow but it gives the build the professional look. When someone spends thousands on a build they should want to make it look as nice as possible. Those who don't believe in cable mgmt. is just plain laziness. If you look at some of the best builders/modder on YT, they all do cable mgmt. I have a dare for you, post a video on your PC with the cable mess and almost every comment will have something to do with cable mgmt, or the lack of.

  • how much is the rotary tool coz i wanna drill some holes?

  • you can buy them separate or you can buy them in a set with different sizes. In the states here, they go for about $8.00 each without the arbor or pilot bit, if you buy the set, which comes in several different sizes. The one I bought came with 5 different size hole saw's and included the arbor and pilot bit, costing about $40.00 US

  • Damn man.. all the work you put in to all this is inspiring.

Next rig i'm going all out.

    5/5 my man.

  • thanks bro that's inspiring! I got other thing planned too, if I ever get to work! LOL

  • hey man get to it

I was looking forward to seeing this one

  • working on it, got everything primed, but it's after 9pm and I some other things I have to do before I go to sleep. Got to get up early too. maybe I'll call in sick LOL hopefully I'll paint it tomorrow and post on Tuesday. working long hours

  • hey now don't pull that

    work comes first man

  • LOL that's funny, read my "about me" on my channel page.

  • once you got the stuff you want then that stuff comes before the job XD?

  • 10-4 good buddy. I'm almost off work. get off in about 2 hrs, working 5 - 12hr day's, possible going to 6 day's a week. life suck sometimes

  • i'm only at school

    man i got it easy

  • must be nice LOL those days are long gone for me.

  • What's it like being old? (Haha. Jokes.)

No but i'm serious.. I ask a lot of people this.. what's it like getting older :l

  • It doesn't matter if you are 6 or 60, it's all in how you play the game, and I still have GAME LOL just got home from work, checked my e-mails , going back to painting the Armor

  • I was questioning my future in the PC's area.. i'm nearly a kid yet, and I was curious to know that if at this age i'm doing what I am that where will I stand when I got a job and all..

PRO MODDING WITH MONEY IN THE BANK?!?!

    Oh hell yeah.

  • It must be a twin. If you ever see him again tell him I said hello, and ask him if he has any money to loan. lol

  • no I never did serve in any branch of the military and I've worked out of local #342 Pipefitters/Steamfitters Union for the last 15 years. I don't know what else it could be. If I think of anything I'll post.

  • are you saying I look familiar. I was in NY 1 time 15 years ago.

  • cable management was the hardest for me, no tools like you, i have to rewire everything myself. Cable management might be the most important part in the build process. But you handled it very well. Best wishes on your gaming rig. :D

    -Andre

  • Thanks, When I first starting building computers cable management was a nightmare. Case builders didn't have cutouts and PSU company's hadn't yet developed modular PSU's. So now, some things are done to make life easier but it still takes a lot of work.

  • Thanks tj, I thought those 3 were the funniest. I had so many to choose from. lol

  • no the PSU mounts on the top .
