@johnpettet He's probably just not in the mood to tune up to E, because he looks like he's tuned down to Standard D. Probably covering other songs from other bands. Maybe just finished playing Sad But True from Metallica, even? Who knows, but he's definitely in D tuning using E tuning frets.

Yeah, I was wondering, too, how the capo helped at all. I guess maybe in the 1:50 area it would help in not having to skip the E to play the fret slides, you can just play it with it as a power chord, as the E turns into an A.

I have seen many a strat used for heavy metal! and sound damn heavy! Throw a FAT humbucker in a strat and it kicks! Maybe it looks a bit soft but the sound will still rock! BTW it looks more like an Ibanez.

Im tuned down one whole step so as I can play different songs at different pitches w my capo. If I owned several guitars I would have them all tuned up accordingly. Unfortunatley, I only own one guitar. Old Metallica is standard, so the capo goes on the 2nd fret.
