Before posting maybe you should do your research. Shark fins don't add any flavor to a soup, that's why the "skill of the chinese chefs" have to add crab meat or some other substitution. Also, to make the soup flavorful, the chefs use chicken or beef broth.
It's not always about you, but since you think it is, enjoy the high levels of mercury you get when eating shark fin soup.

I am looking for a video that documents how the shark fins are harvested and then the remain of the living shark is thrown back into the water and left to die on its own. It normally takes a few days before they die. That is torture.
