Tara was the best. I can see Tara in this episode. Maybe it would have been made in her era if the series had continued. Tara was lovely. Too many hair style changes though - just when she got it right, they would change her look to something else, big mistake!

Yes, the Headscissors scene were too short because they were concentrating more on Steed's intense battle. So, because of that, you saw little Headscissoring by Tara King.

The man in the second scene with the beige mac is the original Avenger. It is Ian Hendry who was Dr David Keel when the Avengers began in 1961 - Steed was his side-kick.

The new avengers was not as good as the original. But I think its a matter debate whether Purdey was better than Emma. Purdey's athleticism and femininity were greater. But Emma's "supernatural" Englishness and originality give her the edge. A Dutch friend of mine took some convincing when I told him Emma Peel was English!! Best opening sequence (though terrible episode) goes the New Avengers "Hostage" - see that man launched into hyperspace by Purdey's boot!
Miss Lumley Was Cool And Superb In ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS But In THE AVENGERS, I Think She Plays Wooden. Emma Was The Non Plus Ultra And Tara King Very Good For John Steed And The Original Series. The NEW AVENGERS Don´t Made It (For Me)

So classy even when fighting, I always wished the fight scenes lasted a little longer.
Purdey more than made up for Tara King played by Linda Thorson up until then my favourite Avenger girl.
Nearly everyone copied the hairstyle too including my neice who was only about 6 lol.
