The setup was running the stock header. All the piping was removed from the cat on back..as the description says I used a magnaflow muffler as a resonator.
hey man did you took off the original resonator from the car? i got a 2.5 pipe from the back of the stock resoantor with a dynomax gays ass muffler and it sounds good at idle but hella raspy at high rmps, it like a bumble bee orgy, i got the part # of the magnaflow muffler of your, i might doit this weekend i hope im not looking more the $150
Can you add my full name to the tag of my completed systems you have on file? I'm starting a collection of all my custom made exhaust systems. Thanks man!
this car sounds very near stock when idling and cruzing. when you mash on it with load. it sounds so clean and well tuned, I HATE HONDA GHETTO RASP! Ghetto bee buzzing rasp makes cops hate you and people laugh at you when you leave the parking lot at WOT!
btw, tuner craze, you are experiencing the cold start map on the ecu. it sounds like crap until it hits closed loop operating temperature. most efi cars do that.
I'm the fabricator of this system and many others. If you want something to sound like this on your sentra and be legal in California. use 2.5" pipe from the cat back. Install an oval magnaflow muffler in the middle where the old resinator was. then at the end, use a single in, double out magnaflow muffler. the bigger the tips the louder it is. the bigger the pipe the louder, the smaller the resinator, the raspier.
I just recently got my 04 spec-v and Im looking for that sound exactly is there any way you can help me out with some pictures or something I'm really interested!!!!! thanks =)
This is not a magnaflow cat back..it's a custom pieced together setup using mandrel bent piping and magnaflow parts.. I have a parts list in the description.
To answer your question though, no it didn't come with one as it was a custom setup. The off the shelf bolt on comes with a small resonator and makes the car sound too raspy IMO.
Bro, sorry about that man!! I was playing around with the "Audio Preview" function and was just making shit up LOL. I think I might have hit "post comment" by accident!! To answer your question a Magnaflow muffler gives you a nice deep tone for the car. The standard rule of thumb is the bigger the resonator, the deeper the sound. I am in San Diego myself, so I hear ya about the laws. You can actually setup any cat back and be legal since that's not interfering with the emissions equipment.
yo man i have an 02 spec v with an ebay exhaust. it sounded nice and not rice until i got the megan racing header on it, know it has vibration and rasp and sounds like a god damn honda at higher rpms. i was wondering if you could help me out with an exhaust that will sounds nice and not rice. thank you
Hey man sorry I didn't get to see this earlier. The key to any good exhaust is the size of the resonator. The standard rule of thumb is to stuff the biggest resonator that will fit under your chassis. The trick also is to use a magnaflow straight through muffler and have it act like a resonator. This will definitely will get rid of the buzzing bees :p
i have a 05 spec v and i've been lookin for a good muffler
i was at a shop and they showed me a magnaflow (not sure what model number or what not), they said it was gonna be around 185-235 depending on which exhaust tip i wanted...
what would u recommend? im only really lookin to change the muffler to get a better sound and look; i live in cali so i dont wanna mess with other exhaust parts cuz of the damn laws
This is the 3rd time I've tried posting a comment to reply to your question, so hopefully it'll work lol. The setup ran about 500 bucks or so installed with 2.5" piping. Thanks for the compliment btw :)
Hell yeah man!! I have an 06 SpecV. I know what you mean! I was wondering how that Mangaflow would sound! I'm boosting my car in a few months and upgrading to a custom 3inch. Exhausts tend to sound a lot deeper when boosted. So that PLUS the Magnaflow should sound hella mean for a SpecV! I can't stand that raspy crap either! Mine sounds like off a cold start but throughout the day, it wears off. Trying to get rid of it.
Thanks much for the comment! Remember that this is not the bolt on magnaflow setup..this was a custom one. If you like I can help you piece a good system together. Just let me know! :)
