Dcord, dude... wipe the Jism off the screen and take a breathe. I mean, this is pretty good, but dude... it's a chubby bald dude that has too much facial hair singing a so-so song pretty good. Christ. This kinda tripe is like Cat-Nip for coulda-been-a-contender baby boomers. And people like Beiber and Gaga cause.. watching a crusty dude put his sex out there like this... makes most people with a pulse wanna throw up in their mouths a little bit. That's just how it is - get over it, losers.
Lady GaGa,Justine Bieber and all those "Johnny come lately should be forced to watch this and see what real talent is!No auto tune.No reverb. No synthesizer. No back up singer. Its just fucking perfect.
Treat yourself to seeing the biography-story of this great, beautiful singer-musician.
What an amazing story. Bravo, David. You saw and did it all, and survived. Total determination was the secret. Thank you for many, MANY years of great music!!!
The lyrics, performance and energy, just can'r beat that, not even a 1000 armies. Music's in need of this sort of artists now a days, specially mainstream.
I cannot get enough of this song lately! LOVE YOU DAVID, GRAHAM, & STEVEN...AND NEIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU FOR BEING SUCH AN IMPORTANT PART OF MY LIFE!
I see some sort of material on the saddle.Wonder what that is for,I've always used bone or one of those hard plastic saddles. His Martin sure sounds good.
A friend in the recording industry and a headlining band has many guitars of a major brand, none of which you will ever see, because they were built for him, as I imagine David Crosby's guitars are. An $800 Taylor only beats a $4000 Martin if the hands working the Taylor are of David Crosby's caliber. How about a $12,000 Olson.
@YouDonteverhavetodie Why is he a traitor, because he questions his government? It's our duty as citizens to do so. "Dissention is the greatest form of patriotism" - Thomas Jefferson.
@BayesianMan in essence you're right of course. And 20 years ago, i also thought he did just that. That's why i listened to him as one of his greatest fans. But there is a lot more to csny (and the rock industry in general) than meets the eye. Listen to this: /watch?v=hRc6FRBxpUY on youtube. John Todd talks about his friend Crosby when he was still high up in the industry.
One of the true "voices" of my generation. One of the warmest and kindest of men that I have ever met. Riding "point" for a "sea" of faces. The courage to stand up and rebuke The Lie. Please don't forget this loving spirit.
What a talented songwriter this guy is. In the moment, I'm watching the blue outside there's a bruised sky. How the blues descend and rain falls. I'm sure David Bowie appreciates his sounds,
I agree with you totally "dcord123"...I have admired David's work since the 60's and although I am the exact opposite in many of his political leanings, nevertheless his music, his writings, his words are beyond comparison and we have been blessed to have him and his music.
Myself personally, I could not be farther..from this man's political views, lifestyle, or attitudes. But...I will say this...God has only chosen a handful of songwriters...that can so honestly transfer real feelings and experiences into words for the rest of us to relate to. This gentleman was and IS a REAL TALENT...you simply can't engineer what he brings to the table. Thank you for sharing this one...priceless.
all his music comes from his POLITICAL VIEWS LIFESTYLE & ATTITUDES. Wake up supermarket dudie. D u know Mariah Carrie lifestyle? Or if u go for technical skills u can even land on Malmsteen
@dcord123 Great comment. Crosby has a musical gift given to very few, and although he is most assuradly human in many ways, his music transcends most mortal ties. I only wish that all people on Youtube would have the ability to put aside their political, visual and cultural beliefs and just enjoy the music for what it is. Grant you, it's not all good. In fact, some of it really sucks. However, ripping someone to shreds for giving it a go is not what this is all about, in my opinion. Thanks
there was a vid from this concert i think when he was singing almost cut my hair acoustic live solo, but i can't seem to find it anywhere, anyone please?? :c
What I think about this gu is just superb song writer he is , I think under-rated, but not by Bowie who has covered quite a number of his song. I certainly know he gets the blues. I hope he's treated kindly.
@deadhead1065 that's a new one on me also...but it appears to be...an attempt to put some violin style "fine tuners" on that bridge....either that or something similar to a Strat style adjustable saddle for each individual string. OR...it COULD be...an early attempt at installing a pick up in the bridge for each individual string....who knows
@zeccahj1 According to David's autobiography,"Daylight Again" his favorite guitar was a converted Martin 12 string. This appears as that may be what he is playing. He "lost" it for a time but I believe he was able to retrieve it.
@zeccahj1 it looks like he put some tissue or cloth under the strings along the saddle. Doesn't strike me as though there is anything not stock about it other than the cloth. Don't know how much sonic difference it makes beside not allowing the strings to resonant for as long as normal.
There used to be a great acoustic clip of David singing "almost cut my hair" and it apparently it go pulled. Anyone know what concert that was and is it on dvd ?
i was kidding of course....i only seen him 10 times or so with CSN......i remember being at a neil show, and he and graham showed up, just a few days after cros was released from jail.... awesome "only love can bring you down"......
Who has seen the 1985 documentary "History of Rock and Roll"? In it, Crosby tells us he was born to sing harmony. Seems he does melody pretty damned well, to my ear.

there is now a CD available, "Thousand Roads". i'd like to see a performance of "Borrowed Time", which was dedicated to Jeff Porcaro, from this album.
If this is the performance i think it is, just after the point where the video fades out,Crosby says to the crowd "Did you like it?" They say, "yes" and DC goes, "Then I shall keep it."
simply perfect!!
