    It took a while. I've been training since I was 13. I'm 32 now. Sry mate, but I have good genes. It's easy for me to keep a low bodyfat and hold a certain weight. I lose weight easily, just gaining weight was always a problem.

    I train 3 times a week to maintain my muscle, keep my carbs low, protein high and "good fats" I keep moderatly. Must important thing is to keep training consistently and to find the fun in training/Bodybuilding itself.

    Hi, well actually those "weird top little abs" are quite normal. It could be that yours just aren't genetically built to grow like the rest. For that problem I'm afraid is no solution. Even I (:P) can't tense and train those top little abs only and apart from the rest of the abdominals. Sry.

  • I just turned 19, and my body is similar to yours, cabal. Only, I notice a little bit of gastric distention when I have alot of carbs, do you get the same effect? It's like sometimes my abs have to be flexed for them to be showing, and when they are you can see everything, but relaxed looks almost like I have a little stomach. I'm also always under 11% body fat year round.

  • @cabal456 It justs comes with our types of body. Some kind of meso-ecto genetic framework. Eating alot and having alot of muscle mass on a smaller frame will have to push the parameters on some objects (our stomach) if we're not going to have fat on us. Mine is getting more harder and defined as I draw nearer to my competition date. But you do work yours very good as well.

  • hm. If you don't understand, is there something I could clarify for you? I was just telling cabal that I noticed a similar distinction when my abdominal cavity is relaxed, even as close as a few weeks out prior to a show. I was wondering if anyone else experienced the same thing.

    Hi, well in my opinion its just due to the sheer size, mass and development of the abs. Like big Quads or arms will just look big, bloated and "hang" there if not tightend up while tensing the muscle.

    It's just too bad that overdeveloped abs don't look good while relaxed.

    Then again the better they look when tensed. :)

    I come to this conclusion because I don't use GH, Insulin and also don't eat large amounts...so I can't find any other explanation.

  • Great job, i would guess your bodyfat to be around 4-7% How long did you take to get to that point where you can see your bloodveins around your belly? Thats the sign of really low bf%

  • I must admit that a low bodyfat comes quite easy for me. Bulking up has always been a fight.

    But I gave up the "mass game" and

    I´ve been in this kind of shape now the last couple years.

  • I´m into instinktive training und diating. I train when I think I should. My diat during the week is low carb, high protein, moderate fats (good fats/Fishoil). Most of my carbs I eat before and after training.

    I eat what I want on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) to keep myself sain and also to keep my metabolism from slowing down.

    It works for me.

  • I understand the concept of your training program and also the lowcarb diet you are on. I do the same thing and its working for mer too. I am always looking for new recipies on meals diet wise. I like to experiment since I am a great chef in the kitchen =P. If you have any nice clean-diet (lowcarb) meal-recipies to share or just hints on what could spice things up a little bit sortofspeaking, pleas send me an mail with a little inspiration. Thanx alot!

  • The best way for "good abs" is to get stronger in all the basic exercises. You cannot get stronger in deadlifts and squats without your abs getting bigger and stronger. And then at some time lose the fat that is covering them.

    My best in DL is 3 reps with 220 kg and about the same with squats.

    I hear alot of peolple doing upto 200 crunches a day, (which I guess is more than I could do) but are stil wondering why its not working..

    Thats what alot of people think, mainly those who don´t know what their talking about :)

    A so called "GH gut" can easily be mistaken for "muscular abs" which can be pushed out or tensed or shown with a low fat %.

    GH is extremly overrated, never interested me, even if I could afford I just don´t see the need for me to use it. Stopped playing the "mass gain game" years ago.

    Just dont do any direkt abtraining like crunches or leg raises etc.

  • I like this video if only because it dispells some of the myths which seem to herald a doctrine which gives good abs, one that is never really given out freely, but maybe, just maybe, this product has part of it, so you should buy it!! The reality is there is no one way to get what you want from your body because everyone's biochemistry is fairly unique.

  • The Obliques stabilize for/in/against rotational movements. This could just be genetic, but definetly, the obliques do activate with heavier weight just to supplement the power of the basic spinal muscles. Do Lying twists (the thing where you lift your legs from the right to up-pointing to left and then back again while lying down) to do a complex abdominal movement that activates your obliques.

  • people with truly great abs do have a little more "size" to their bellies when they are not flexing simply because the abs underneat are bigger. This guy is probably very low body fat too but still has a bigger looking stomach only because he has a powerful core.
