  • just another half baked paint tin opener.....its a mass produced over priced twat magnet made completly by machine.

  • Absolutely beautiful.

  • very pretty knife... makes me want to throw my junkers away.

  • sweet looking knife, shame you spoke so much man,,,,,,,,,,,

  • lol that knife is too nice to use!

  • can you batoon with that knife

  • I have four of Steve's knives and they are the best that you can get anywhere and I have looked around and you could not get any better than a SWC Knife and you can bank on that!

  • Does this knife need to be polised or oiled if left alone on a mantlepiece? What I mean is, will it eventually rust if you leave it dry and exposed, even if its brand new?

  • @100trueneutral it is 01 tool steel, which will rust if allowed to, but it takes and holds a beautiful edge.

  • This knife is beautiful! Well done.

  • im going to steal the etching pattern muhaaaaaa

  • What a beautifully made knife, i'm not normally a fixed blade man but that really is something to behold, who ever made that knife deserves a great deal of credit.

  • a beautiful knife

  • He should make them with a drop point as the tip is too delicate for heavy-duty field work.

  • beutyfull knife........ love the file work the best........

  • That is honestly the most beautiful bushcraft knife i have ever seen.

  • Thats a very nice knife!!! now lets take it out and baton the crap out of it splitting some wood!.............just kidding. i do like the file work.

  • @Vengeance: When a knife is made, the steel is soft. Then it is hardened and tempered. The filework is done before hardening, so it doesn't take a "soft" knife to embellish it with filework.

This knife, though (IMHO), is thicker than necessary. 3mm is plenty thick; more than that is just for looks. Again, just MHO.

  • what chemical is used for the electrochemical etching of steel???

  • @theartilerysheller1 if you have a look at swc's site it may give you some answers ( swc-handmade-knivesDOTCOM/BLADE-ETCHING)

  • great filework, but you are sacrificing the sharpness of the blade because the grind is so low, also to do that kind of filework I assume you would need a relatively 'soft' steel, so looks are great, but its not a particularly 'useful' knife. =P

  • that filework on the tang is amazing! beautiful knife.

  • Looks Great. Thats a seriously Stout knife and Geometry. I'd love to hear how it performs. The primary bevel appears to have a very wide angle to it.

Enjoy the knife. i know I would :)

  • how much does a knife from swc cost?

  • Mighty pretty knife ............... so what are you going to do with it? A knife not used for it's original intentions, is not a knife at all, but a bauble to dangle for ones own entertainment in support of delusional esteem. Waste of money! The Rocky Mountains await challenge!

  • What did you do to your right thumb? Good looking knife, but I agree w/ maxpullara1 and do not like the finished product compared to the price. Anything w/ my name on it would have to be perfect!

  • I had an accident with a cardboard box, it cut right into my thumb, couldn't believe cardboard could be so dangerous lol

  • looks like a great bushcraft knife 5*

  • £340?

  • So much work went into the vine and thorn file work and etching of the blade.. It really is nice work but then the scales were drilled a little hastily and the mosaic pins on the right scale have suffered with the gap around middle pin and lanyard hole.. Thats me being fussy as I make blades too.. If you payed over £200 then I would expect perfection!!! I am surprised SWC let it go!

Wasnt it SWC that made a knife for that guy that did "Alone in the wild?" Im sure I saw the design.

  • Thanks for commenting. The video may give the impression that there are gaps but they are actually scorch marks (or looks like), you are are right that they do look a little rushed, one day i hope to get them re-scaled.

I thought the alone in the wild guy was only armed with a shotgun and electric fence :)

Anyway the knife was a gift from a friend who paid way over the odds on ebay, got a bit carried away.

  • Mate I need some mates like that!!!! All the best

  • @StoneBoneAndFire You have a good friend. Its a truely beautiful knife.
