  • i really love hear this song when the rain comes..

  • There's 400times more likes than dislikes. This song has 400 times more influence than I first thought it would have influence; in my life, in my doings, in my everything.

  • I wanna this song at my funeral. I wanna die with this song.

  • lool miau wer will camen

  • My God, i could watch Jonsi sing and play that guitar like that for hours on end without getting bored, what a beautiful sound, love sigur ros so much, they have kept me sane in a crazy fucked up world xxx

  • Este brother me da animos para seguir adelante :)

  • Tears, tears and tears again

  • Goosebumps...

  • Absolutely incredible. Their live BBC version is even better than the 'Heima' album version.

  • @fjdrummer he's just singing "hopelandish".. I dont know the exact spell though. They creat new language speaking hopes as my opinion

  • @seulhee89 hopelandic xD

  • just had to go to bed and be all sleepy dreamy, last call for you tube video...lovin it, I heard "inside a house, inside a noose" any objections?

  • just had to go to bed and be all sleepy dreamy, last call for you tube video...lovin it

  • I have no idea what his saying...buts its the most beautiful thing ever in each of his songs. I do always feel like his saying 'Eels eyes' though. But i try to ignore that.

  • @tjdrummer13 You do know he's not saying anything at all, don't you?

  • @69drummerdude Bullshit. He's just speaking icelandic?

  • @tjdrummer13 Hate to burst your bubble, but no. Research a bit further; they are quite open about it. It's a made up language not supposed to mean anything at all. Just sounds. If you click on Gobbledigook with Bjork you can hear real Icelandic, its a lot harsher with lots of K's in it (kinda, funny sounding)

  • @69drummerdude Ha nah you didn't burst 'my bubble' I don't speak icelandic. And i don't speak Gobbledigook [sadly] so an incomprehensible language is the same as any other incomprehensible language...in some respects. But its very nice. Actualy lyrics piss me off sometimes, so its almost like its just all instrumental but with nice vocals. I'll look into it some more....

  • so 4 people misspressed the thumps up ?

  • So beautiful, I'm almost crying

  • soul music

  • To say this is nice speaks an injustice to this piece. It is both empowering and silencing but yet at the same time it makes you inferior. God bless Sigor Ros and hope they re-band.

  • you said is lovee!!! <3

  • this song is SICKAMINTS

  • Just read most of the comments here. Conclusion?.................bunch of Cunts!

  • I cry happy tears when sigur ros plays, those most peaceful sounds i have ever heard made by man.

  • The purest of music, I'm in rapture even though I'm not. Rejoice, let the Proletariots all die.

  • Good evening goosebumps, we meet again

  • I'll be seeing Jonsi in Detroit Nov. 5th. I cannot wait.

  • Sounds like motorhead don´t you think? the drum riff?? no? In my country we play dance music during funerals, we dance and cry. This music is empty for me, boring, simple, and the guy'sings like farinelli. I never lived on a counytry where the sun doesn´t rise high above for six months...perhaps is the cause for such a lack of everything in this song. Try stravinsky and i'm sure you will all love it much more than this western wannabe mantra.

  • @Yayoyutub Maybe it's just not for you? Never been a fan of classical music myself, much because of people like you, who shun every other kind of music because it doesn't stand up to your pompous elitist tastes. This music (sigur ros) is all about moods and textures of sound, dynamics and so forth. Much like classical, only rooted in a different time and place. And maybe for a different audience. And I'm pretty sure not all will like stravinsky more than sigur ros. not even close.

  • @Yayoyutub get a clue dickweed

  • @97chopper you've got 20 songs of them ? you SHOULD have 6 albums of them.

  • i was in a band called Von.very much inspired by ros

  • :'-(

  • så smuk kan musik være.....fordyb dig i det, hvis du tør at give slip........

  • Von. It's true, the words are only a convention. This song is an emotional earthquake....

  • I am so sorry for your loss...great song for her memory

  • its just magical @.@

  • i'm dying

  • hahahahahaha :D

  • Beautiful!!!!

  • pure, just pure uplifting music

  • Sensacional! Espetacular! Magnífica a música e a interpretação.

  • this is the most amazing music i have ever herd. The first person who terned me on to this band was a friend then i searched them on i tunes and i have over 20 songs of them.

  • Beautiful - Sigur Ros are profound.

  • just great !

  • Wow, such a beautiful song..! Really incredible atmosphere they created in this song.. Could listen to it 10000 times, and would still enjoy every single second of it..Masterpiece..!

Sigur ros are the band of the century..!

I was looking for cool music on youtube..and I found a Band called "Nyctalgia" some minutes ago..You should listen to their song "Falling into nothingness"..

Really beautiful, thought that some of you would like it,like me..

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! :)

  • i get shivers when he sings

  • me too

  • so beautiful, this song make me cryyyyyyyy!!

  • Why I have to always cry during this song?

  • The chords are simple for this song. Everyone should play along or play this song alone. It's an experience! :-)

  • this song is so touching =X

  • this song makes me feel like as if i m listning 2 some kind of strange anthm tht touches u frm inside ...with a strange unexplanable feeling lingering on inside ur head n heart....strange stuff.....

    love their concept of vonlenska!!!

  • shut the fuck up this music is the best is from the botton of the soul is like GAIA spoken to us...is God....

  • One of the most thought provoking and emotional songs ever. Pure Amazing.

  • so peacefull..... full of hope and feelings!!! they are the greatest band! so different! .... wonderfull!

  • i still prefer the original version of von, though this is beautiful as well

  • Walked up the aisle towards my future husband to this song.

  • @perrygill27 in case reply doesnt work

I agree with you, we do live in a sexually repressed society. But its not killing anyone. Take your shit elsewhere.

  • realmente se siente la esperanza!!

  • the best

  • Almost brings a tear to my eye. Simply beautiful.

  • kinda reminds me of the cocteau twins.

  • the girls at the strings are cute

  • u really must be horny...

  • They're called Amiina

  • said the conservativ male ignorant pig ...

  • (reaction to a certain gainpro)

  • worst...comeback...ever

  • wtf is wrong with you?

  • aaaahhhhh.... k?..... rude anyone?... -_-'

    ok.... what..... now?.....

lil late honey first of alll...

so, whats tickling your butt huh?

lemme guess your an inhuman sexist too? sokay.

so lets try this again, it's not about me, it's: wtf is wrong with "YOU"?!

whats your prob with human life?

  • I played this song at my mother's funeral. She was diagnosed with lung cancer on 5th December 2007 and died on June 23rd 2008. I held her hand as her breathing slowed and she died at 5.25am with the sun streaming into her room. She was only 54 and I miss her every day.

  • that really sucks -huggles- i feel so sorry for you i dunno what id do when i lose my mum

  • youmusttgoon - I'm sorry you lost you mom. May the memories you shared bring you comfort.

I discovered this band watching the HBO movie The Girl in the Cafe. They featured the song Staralfur. I have no clue what they are saying but I feel connected to this beautiful music.

  • I think this is in 'hopelandic', a made up language. It means whatever you want it to.

  • Very interesting. Thank you for sharing. I had no idea.

I looked up hopelandic, per wikipedia... The bands website describes it as a form of gibberish vocals that fits to the music. I love their music!!!

  • Yes. It's "vonlenska" or "hopelandic", Von = Hope, Lenska = Is-lenska = Ice-landic- (mmm...).

    A language created by Jónsi.

All of the vocals in "Untitled Album" by Sigur Rós are however in hopelandic (vonlenska in icelandic).

Is the "language" in which Jónsi sings before lyrics are written to the vocals. It isn't an actual language (no vocabulary, grammar, etc). It's rather a form of gibberish vocals that fits to the music and acts as another instrument.

    Good luck!

  • incredibly moving - what a beautiful piece of music to pay tribute to her with though.

  • I'm so very so for your mom's passing, youmustgoon :-(

I'm sure this song made her funeral full of hope and emotion... It's so hard to lose a loved one, but think that now she's up there, pain free, looking at you from above...

    (((hugs)))

  • @youmustgoon im sorry for your loss i hope you never have to suffer through a loss like that again... cheers...

  • @youmustgoon as i type this post i am crying i am so sorry to hear about your mom. I love my mother so much i don'tknow what i would do without her. I hope you get well soon :)

  • @youmustgoon ufff... that's sad and hard....

  • @youmustgoon i hope you are doing okay. i think at times one might feel like falling apart but strenght can be found by asking oneself what did my mum/dad bring me up to do? try and make your mum proud every day. you are her legacy and try each day to make her proud. It is you and your family that walk in her footsteps. Try and do as you think she would wish.

  • @youmustgoon You gave your mother a beautiful present. I can't think of a better travel than one listening to this beautiful art form. I really hope you have this in mind every day of your life. Hope you are doing ok. Cheers!

  • @youmustgoon It's the most perfect piece you could have played. It's both extremely sad and hopelessly uplifting and beautiful at the same time. Perfect choice.

  • I can't tell you how deep I felt your comment. I'm sure that you're a great person. My girlfriend had cancer, hopefully now she's ok. I don't got words.... good vibes girl!

  • @youmustgoon May God rest her sould in peace.

  • @youmustgoon GOOD LUCK SAD STORY

  • @youmustgoon please accept my condolences for your loss, I hope time is healing the wounds. Please take consolation in the fact you were there when she passed way.

My mother died in 2006 and I was there at the time she had her heart attack. Whilst I tried frantically to carry out cpr she slipped away in front of my eyes, terribly hard at the time, but I now take consolation in the fact we were together.

  • @youmustgoon itll be played ay mine!

  • @youmustgoon Srry for u lost.. °-°

  • powerful emotons from this band

  • is this not the best song ever made! :D :D :D fav band! gonna see them in woverhampton soon! wooo!

  • Good, wasn't it? :-D

Not only the finest band ever to commit to record, but the finest live band, too. They tore the place apart. Never seen or heard anything like it. For approximately two hours, Wolverhampton was the finest place on the planet. Spellbinding. I'm still grinning now. So happy I finally got to experience them live. Long live the Victory Rose!

  • Ég hlusta alltaf á þetta lag ef að ég er eitthvað langt niðri... það lætur mér alltaf líða betur...

  • it simply reminds me of my very best friend and how much i already miss him.

  • Sigur ros delivers stage performances second to none

  • I'm crying, it makes me very emotional.

  • Von actually means "Hope" in icelandic.

  • The worlds most beautiful song. I absolutely utterly adore it.

  • amazing (mm)

  • its wild how a bunch of sounds jus made me start crying

  • excelent !!!

    Lo mejor, sigur ros !!

  • Unique, captivating. I first heard this on Radio Paradise. Had to put a face to the music. I'm not sure, honestly, that I could listen to this for hours. But small doses, yes.

  • yeah, it does sound like that ;-)

    this song is so awesome

  • it sounds like he says "you sigh alone" a few times. I know that's not it, but i've heard the same kind of thing in Gitardjamm... it sounds really lovely..

  • I think the same.. "You sigh alone" .. Hmm , perhaps..

  • It doesn't mean anything

  • This song is so amazing. It just sounds so unbelievably desperate to me. Jonsi's voice is too good. I honestly cannot believe how amazing their music is.

  • Amiina's violins really add to the feeling, I can't imagine the song without them. Amiina and Sigur Rós, the two greatest bands in Iceland.

  • I remember listening to this song with tears in my eyes last summer

  • guess you couldn't see

  • ehm what do you mean?

  • well if you had tears in your eyes, i guess you couldn't see, or do you mean you tore your eyes open at the sadness of this marvelous song written and sung by one of the worlds most eye catching bands?

  • Perfect!

  • Hvarf's version of Von is awesome, certainly one of my favorite SR's songs [that includes all () ]. In the cd version the violins are magnificent.

  • But AnimexBoi is correct about Von translating into Hope and this is sung in Sigur Ros gibberish (Hopelandic). Go to their site, click sigur ros on the homepage and on the left, click song lyrics and see for yourself

  • Lafeese, the track that translates hopping into puddles is Hoppipolla off their latest album Takk and this is in Icelandic like you said.

  • just listen and enjoy. who cares who doesn't like it?

  • The saddest song ever.

  • Can anyone give me the english translation to these lyrics? I can't find them online, but I really want to know! It's fucking beautiful!

  • There is no english and/or any language translation for this song. It's in "Hopelandic" which is just plain Gibberish... but it's nice!

  • You'r the one who's fuckin' dumb and retarded. This name of this song translates "Hope" STUPID!

  • If you saw them on Reverb on HBO, they talked about "Hopelandic" and that it was just singing in tongues, using vocals to communicate musically and not verbally. Kind of similar to what Lisa Gerrard does from Dead Can Dance.

  • jajajajaja you idiot

  • I ♥ Sigur Ros, I ♥

  • i love this band.. thanks for uproading

  • to everyone who dis this band, you have no music taste. away and post on somethin else, i mean there are hundreds of vids with mediocre music. just look at the charts for example. the reason this band are so good is that they don't make music for profit. the music is personal therefore not to everyone's taste...

  • Some people have to chill.

Seriously, what is the point in defending a band?

  • whats the point of defending anything at all? there is nothing wrong with expressing your opinion, its healthy, thats the point.

  • ok.its health to say my opinion too...about you...if you dont like this band it's ok and leave us....go and listen what you think is good... you dont need to tell any shit about one band or another because nobody listen you , you like or not like and bye bye.

  • Whats not to like about this group? Their music is beatiful, thats why it stands out. Not because you percieve the landscape as being "murky". The hours and hours of work they put into this stuff, I can feel when I listen to them. My suggestion is to stop waiting for something to come along and just go find it. I have a hard time understanding people when they say that there isn't any good music, or the music scene sucks. Good music is everywhere, at any time in history.

  • Spacecarn: This is a comment space and by your rant I guess all comments must be of the same viewpoint, or at least your viewpoint. Really I can't understand your overreaction to a simple post, I wonder how you react to something truly important. BTW you left off the favorite word "Hater", which seems to be the catch all response for any dissagreament. Just curious, why do you like this group?

  • After listening to their recorded works, its quite strange to see this music embodied by actual human musicians. beautiful, beautiful music.

  • They aren't for everyone man.

  • tell me something.....what band do you think that is above mediocre in your opinion i would really like to know

  • You being honest to god instantly renders you useless from forming a valid point, so stfu, if you dont like something nobody fucking asked you for your venomous opinion, negative pricks like you project their pathetic life onto others for attention and should be expelled from our society.

  • Hey, thats your opinion man. I dont understand why everyone get pissed about your comment... This is a place to express what you think of anything, like it or not.

  • Wow!

  • Þetta er svo fallegt lag.

    Stoltur að nánast vera Íslendingur.

    Takk Fyrir.

  • che meraviglia.....senza parole

  • wow i dont know anything about this band i heard this song one day on t.v and all i thought was WOW this is amazing.

  • Just Perfect!

Amazing Performance... I could ear them all day.

    Brilhante!

  • no word....just hear

  • anyone got a audio rip for this? FLAC?

    MP3 would do too.

  • there is a version of it on Hvarf/heim

  • grabs your soul...

they never mention Amina (spelt that wrong probably) who always play with them

i really have to start watching elekik proms...

    magic...

  • This is my favourite song of all Sigur Rós compositions. It is so hauntingly beautiful!

  • Sigur Rós er hið bezt! Ég ást Sigur Rós.

  • brilliant

  • Sigur Ros is fucking insanely amazing.

  • It's sooo beautiful! It reminds me of a

    sunset in early winter.
