I'm so impressed because this looks really good, regardless of it being made by one guy. Wow, like I said in another comment on another video, I feel inspired to get back into 3d animation. Do you use vanilla Maya like in the raw or do you have some additional plugins and such? That cloth looks great. I was an XSI guy but am asking because that was years ago.

Yo. In super man returns, the best part of the movie for me was when he lifted the crystal island into space. I like how they made him look like an ant under that enormous mass of land. your animation looks very similar to the animation used in superman returns CGI, is that were you got most of your ideas and camera angles from because they look very similar especially at the start where he flies at the camera, it looks like the part in returns when he flies after the plane and appears out of the smoke

Great stuff, how come someone, who I presume doesn't have millions to create CG, has done a better job than Superman Returns? I read a few years ago they left the yellow S-shield off the cape as they said 'it was hard to animate', yet by using common tools like Autodesk Maya, Adobe Photoshop, AfterEffects you can with great effect?? Makes you laugh.

@GeordieDan89 thanks but the work on superman returns was far more elaborate and detailed and up against higher scrutiny being on imax screens, my stuff wouldn't compare to that level work but my aim is to get it close to that level of realism

@mhabjan The CG in SR may have been somewhat polished and detailed to an extent but that can be seen with a budget of $209 million to play with, But for me the CG for SR just didn't look right. Yours may not be studio quality as it were but it just seems to flow better, if you had ILM or Sony Pictures Imageworks like resources I bet it would look better than SR ;)
