Oooh! That spin looks gorgeous on you!! I'm always nervous about laybacks because I'm afraid of falling backwards and hitting my head. Any advice for how to get over that?
@wednesday55 Hah you talk about the layback like a dress :D but i dont do laybacks (im a boy) but with most things its either your not trying it enough or your trying to force yourself to do a full on layback straight off rather then slowly easing into it.Try an upright while looking up slowly (i do that for fun sometimes) :p make sure to ask your coach before trying anything because bad habits are killers
That's a really nice layback spin and it's centered as well. I'm so sick of seeing people traveling their layback spins all over the ice. Can you give me some tips on it? Laybacks are so confusing, you know like confusing to balance because your looking up at the ceiling. How do you balance yours so nice?
very nice spin!! try to square your shoulders though, the right one seems a little high... (i noticed this in your biellman video too) i did this same thing in my layback/biellman and although it always FELT like my shoulders were square, i could always notice the right one was a little high when i watched myself on video... and all of my skaters seem to make this mistake too! anyways, you are a gorgeus spinner, lovely posistions!
my friend is trying it... she is very clumbsy. I'm suprised she hasn't fallin on her blade. Hey have you ever heard of a headless???? my coach told me to try it. It was esy. It's a scratch spin and you're head is back. She said not to go to fast. so I don't break my head. It's sorta easy...
Are there any exercises you would recommend doing to get used to spinning in such a beautiful position? I really want to learn to spin like you someday.
