How concerned are you about the limits (or possible upcoming limits) on the five-seven ammo? Is it true that FNH is the only company that makes the ammo? Just a few questions I've had b/c I'm thinking of buying this amazing handgun myself.

@scornedsamurai The ammo is made by FNH and Hornady for FNH.. You know when I bought this pistol there was almost nothing out there for it. Im talking about holsters, ammo. Now they even sell the die set if you hand load your own stuff. Savage themselves are making a few rifles in that round which will be great varmint rounds. So i do see some light at the end of the tunnel.

@dnahoghunter you would have to have one hell of a large grip to fit a .223 round in it. Plus could you imagine the muzzle blast and flash from that short a barrel?

@dnahoghunter Only problem is that .223 ballistics aren't good in barrel lenghths less than 14inches. Because it was designed as a rifle cartridge the powders it uses aren't effecient like the 5.7 in short barrels. So actually the 5.7 gets better performance with less blast and flash in barrels short enough for a pistol. It would be a waste plus the blast would be horrendous definitly blow your eardrums without ear protection. Also The 5.7 is delayed blowback you need a locked bolt for .223
