Liberal Senator Chris Back said the live sheep trade was an integral component of the nation's livestock industries and contributed significantly to the provision of food in the Asian and Middle East regions. He said the fact he was actively engaged as a veterinarian in the trade and did many trips to the Gulf gave him confidence in supporting the industry

Thanks for your comment. Around 75% of Australias sheep exports leave from Fremantle, WA. All livestock receive the same level of care regardless of where they come from or the port they are being loaded at its part of the standards industry must operate to which are regulated by the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS).
