Hi Guys, doing 4 as an up stroke makes a weaker sound, when 4 should be stressed equally with 1. It also doesn't allow for the & beats. However, that's only my opinion, if it works for you cool. Thanks for the input. Cheers Dave.
This sounds the same as 6/4 to me, i thought that the difference was that 6/4 has a more triplet fell, like 123-123, and that 6/8 is just 123456? God i'm confused lol.
Me too. Usually i play alternated Up and Down strokes so that the 1 is a down stroke and the 4 is an up stroke. You get more of a 6/8 feeling in my opinion.
@kaylashalaylaaaaa Theoretically, the first note on a measure should be stressed more. So 12/8 will have 12 eighth notes per measure and you should stress the 1st note, 13th note, 27th, etc; while with 6/8 you'll stressed the 1st note, 7th note, etc. And generally a lower degree on the intermediate beats.

This is why all musicians should join marching band, you learn to read 6/8.
PS: The quickest way to shut up a guitarist is to put sheet music in his face.
