About 10 years ago I had this experience at Blacks on a nasty scary 20' day! I know it's not Teahupoo but it was my Teahupoo for that day! I was in fear of my life after my first over the falls, held down for what seemed like several minutes, and having that cliché moment when you suck in that first gulp of air just to have half the air be the ocean that fills your lungs then BOOM, the next wave in the set of what seemed like 100 waves starts the process all over again......I was dead.

Thats a good question, especially considering that Teahupoo was only surfed because bodyboarders were boogering it first, but thats too often the case with heavy waves and slabs. No one surfs it till body boarders go. I surf exclusively now but grew up boogie boarding and I never have problems with body boarders. People need to pull the stick out of their ass, and grow up. People snake and burn other people in all wave action sports. Hope that helps answer your question. :)
