@JaeHyunNam Well, I wouldnt say CoH is better than MoW, they are totally different games, but if you enjoy arcade style game then MoW "may" not suit you.
Although you should try the original Men of War demo first, you can find it at the main Men of War website, try out the singleplayer mission and decide if it is good for you.
You know trolling is not really a healthy thing to do, its not considered a hobby just to let you know, and definetally not a sport.

The original MoW was pretty awesome but I sure hope it will feature a new lobby-system. The old one was an embarrassing excuse for a lobby. Some people say the voice acting killed the game, but what really killed it was the confusion with multiple patches for different gamesources and the horrible multiplayer lobby.
I wonder if Assault Squad will be the last series, or if there will be more newer versions of Men of War. There might be more new versions since this isnt like a storyline game which ends production when the story ends.
Although they might change the name, just like how they changed SHOWWII and Faces of War.

@querbeet2004 CoH is a spammy game, though. Much like other RTS'es with base management and resources, it boils down to being good at spamming and sort of decent at tactics. You need a combination of both, but the spamming part is by far the most important. Just like in Starcraft (which I hate) you have to always be building units. Keep an eye on the resources constantly, and make units ALL THE TIME. Don't do that, you lose. Men of War and Dawn of War 2 focus on actually playing, not building.
Funny thing is that we have a war between MOW and COH there 2 different games they use 2 diffrent styles and i have both they great. really you dont start a silly war with games unless they are pretty much the same.
As much as I dislike fanboy disputes, I also dislike the general idea that has formed in the gamer community that these two games are so different in genre. It's nothing like comparing FPSers vs RTSes.. After all COH and MOW are strategy games set in the same era and both address the same target audience, I think.

6. Realistic (based on radio availability or "area of influence" or visual contact) communications between units? (No more telepathic exchange of info - see enemy encounters)

MoW is extremely focused on singleplayer and coop and the rest was just thrown apart in 5 minutes. And the units look way more unrealistic and old in MoW.
Units in MoW are much more human looking than the cartoons in CoH, don't get me wrong, CoH graphics look much better than MoW.
CoH has unlimited replayability? LOL, You are talking about a game where you pick a strategy and stick with it and continue spamming units until you or your enemy dies.
Networking in CoH is extremely shoddy, it goes offline everyday randomly, drop-kickers plague the multiplayer.

Multiplayer focus with CoH? Hell no. It's a point-and-click RTS. You have very basic BB element and once you have a strategy down pat you can consistently steam roll the opposition. The top 3 people on the Allied scoreboard are all the same person.
SP is much more well done in CoH, better voice acting, cinematics, mapping, the works.
MoW beats it in gameplay, networking (LOL at relic online) and community.

@querbeet2004 Uhh.. Late reply but Faces of War came out before CoH and FoW is actually MoW but an older version. It is made by the same company, the only difference is the Publisher was Ubisoft.
And a lot of other features, such as better direct control system that allows you to take control of tank, infantry, and even planes. More realistic tank combat (much longer combat range and no more health bar, etc).

are you actually sure what you are saying? I wouldn't go that far to say CoH has no strategy involved. The "just arcadey spamming" game wouldnt stand where doese right now if it would be a crap game. I play both and to be honest I like both. But your stereotyp-ish "Nah, CoH is popular hence I am against it" sucks hairy balls !

@querbeet2004 CoH is a spammy game, though. Much like other RTS'es with base management and resources, it boils down to being good at spamming and sort of decent at tactics. You need a combination of both, but the spamming part is by far the most important. Just like in Starcraft (which I hate) you have to always be building units. Keep an eye on the resources constantly, and make units ALL THE TIME. Don't do that, you lose. Men of War and Dawn of War 2 focus on actually playing, not building.

Funny thing is that we have a war between MOW and COH there 2 different games they use 2 diffrent styles and i have both they great. really you dont start a silly war with games unless they are pretty much the same.

As much as I dislike fanboy disputes, I also dislike the general idea that has formed in the gamer community that these two games are so different in genre. It's nothing like comparing FPSers vs RTSes.. After all COH and MOW are strategy games set in the same era and both address the same target audience, I think.

Great! Can't wait for it to come out, but will it have:
1. Automatic mod/map downloader?
2. Improved artillery model so that we can FINALLY play balanced games WITH artillery?
3. Smoke arty and rounds for certain vehicles?
4. Improved infantry combat inside buildings?
5. Unit morale? (atm they're all kamikazes :] )
6. Realistic (based on radio availability or "area of influence" or visual contact) communications between units? (No more telepathic exchange of info - see enemy encounters)

this game predates COH..it started out as "Soldiers Heroes Of World War 2" (SHOWW2)...naff name but fantastic game! :D
i actually wrote my own mod for this adding troops and tanks, got VERY into it!

@MenOfWarSoldier No, the multiplayer in MoW is horrible, it can be fun to play a few matches but after a while you just realize how empty and shallow multiplayer in that game is, and thats nothing compared to CoH which has unlimited replayability, but I doubt you have even played it when replying like that. MoW is extremely focused on singleplayer and coop and the rest was just thrown apart in 5 minutes. And the units look way more unrealistic and old in MoW.

Units in MoW are much more human looking than the cartoons in CoH, don't get me wrong, CoH graphics look much better than MoW.
CoH has unlimited replayability? LOL, You are talking about a game where you pick a strategy and stick with it and continue spamming units until you or your enemy dies.
Networking in CoH is extremely shoddy, it goes offline everyday randomly, drop-kickers plague the multiplayer.

@Ragnarill CoH is much more "arcadey" I think is the best word to describe it.
Multiplayer focus with CoH? Hell no. It's a point-and-click RTS. You have very basic BB element and once you have a strategy down pat you can consistently steam roll the opposition. The top 3 people on the Allied scoreboard are all the same person.
SP is much more well done in CoH, better voice acting, cinematics, mapping, the works.
MoW beats it in gameplay, networking (LOL at relic online) and community.

The AI in both games is equally hamstrung, with the AI in CoH on Expert being almost cheat worthy.
Are you daft? The graphics, AI, music, cinematics, are all better in CoH. In MoW, the MP, Gameplay, Community, Networking, Realism, and balance are all much more well done.

Actually I like how the AI in mow (infantry) can take cover, advance and retreat and change weapons to best match the enemy, all on it's own.
P.S. pathfinding is not really AI and it is as bad as in ALL strategy games.

You can sit off in the distance with a tank and pick them off one at time and they won't even respond.
Thankfully they are fixing this in Assault Squad

@Imnospy Well I would say Men of War graphics are "ok" not the best but pretty decent, its not like your gunna zoom into the faces of the soldiers or test the pixelation for clearness, its a game..
If it was a fps game then that would probally matter, and remmber lots of people have low running computers so the more decent graphics, the better gameplay.
And there will be many mods that will come out to enhance the quality of gameplay and graphics.

@querbeet2004 Uhh.. Late reply but Faces of War came out before CoH and FoW is actually MoW but an older version. It is made by the same company, the only difference is the Publisher was Ubisoft.

And a lot of other features, such as better direct control system that allows you to take control of tank, infantry, and even planes. More realistic tank combat (much longer combat range and no more health bar, etc).
