I wish Tina would put this song on her next CD - I loved it from the minute I saw it on TV (I recall her saying that Lionel Richie wrote it for her - is that right or is my memory faded after all these years?)
Your memory has faded! :) Tina sang it when she supported Lionel Richie at his concert in 1987 (?) but she recorded the studio version with Elton John's band. Never heard the studio version unfortunately and not sure who wrote it.
I was blown away by Tina's performance at this concert. Watched it on tv. Did you happen to get the other song she sang? Did you see her perform a funky version of the carpenters classic "Close to You"?
"No Lies"..yes, got the other song. She was in fine form at that concert. I was in the audience that day! And Close To You was from the Australia Day concert, but it is on youtube already.... :)
Love it. This is classic and superb on so many levels. The song itself is very engaging in the same way that many of the best 80s pop songs were. And Tina's vocals are outstanding - even as a 20yo she was so far ahead of so many...And remains so.
l'une des choses dont je suis le plus sur c'est Tina est la meilleure
