What color are they painting CH-47s these days? Looks like a much lighter olive drab like Hueys used to wear--definitely not the dark helo drab on Apaches, Kiowas, Blackhawks & Kiowas. Great shots, great audio--no need to add music when turbines & rotors are turning!
how much harder is it to fly the chinook over a standard chopper? i know very little about copters, but, just looking at it i`m thinking you have to control both rotors?
@mikldude I'm not a Chinook pilot myself, but a helicopter is a helicopter. The same control inputs react the same as a regular helicopter. That's the beauty of good engineers!
@mikldude I love the Kiowa (JetRanger), but I just love the sound of the good ole' Chinook. The Chinooks behave a little differently in flight, but like Michael says, they all have the same basic controls. I just know this flrom flying the remote control models, though I am not a regular helicopter pilot (aside from r/c).
The first gen Kiowa "OH-58C" is a JetRanger..The second gen "OH-58D" is like it with a bigger powerplant and a four blade main rotor more comparable to a Bell 407.
Well that was cool as hell.

I'm sure it depends on where the aircraft is going to be flown, but it also depends on the model of chinook.

Always wondered.........what is the purpose of the angled tail rotor on the Blackhawk?

@sickler4201
Provides an extra little bit of lift (2.5%) to the rear of the helicopter.

I don't know why people think the longbow is ugly. I think it looks bad ass.

@miGsKills For me it's the device that rests on top of the Blades. I love and hate that thing, same goes for the Kiowa OH58?
Love the main Helicopters.
