They've been delaying release because AMD has busted a nut with 384 bit rape cards on 3 gigs ddr5 ram in 28 nano. The previous rumors from nvidia were empty of any 28 nano talk, and did have talk of the 560 equivilents (660ti) being only 1.5 gig vid ram. They are obviously rethinking this now, hence the delay.
What is the point of these cards?, i have two 580's and there are no games that currently exist to push them to thier limit, look at the samaritan demo thats nearly a year old but where are the games, you can run Battlefield 3 maxed out on just a 460gtx, Skyrim no dx11, Cyrsis 2 dx11 months after release but only partly utilised ect.
95% of the people will never know whats in there xbox ,they dont care as long as it plays there games and dose not cost a fortune for power processing they will never use. PlayStation learned that lesson well last time!
games just are not created like they use to be anymore there is no need for a top end processor in a console anymore , i have a gtx 580 and it is total overkill ,yes i am going to upgrade to Kepler when it is released but i am a enthusiast most people dont need 60-100 fps to play a game all xbox needs is 30fps at the most .
Problem with putting high end hardware into consoles is their pricing .. Too many people would be quite mad at Microsoft or Sony if their next console costs 1000-1500 dollars ...
@tore1992 yea but the GFX card is the most important thing in cosoles, they should not cheap out on that peice of hardware at all, IMO they should of put a 6850 or 6870, cards are pretty cheap for performance, if they sell the consoles for 400-500 dollars, i think they could of put these cards in for sure and still make profit.

@Inthepastxx "Rumors", there is conflicting information everywhere, just because you heard a different set doesn't make your rumors "more correct". Also we already stated they may be called 6xx series or 7xx series for NVIDIA in previous episodes, multiple times. We do plenty of homework, and if you were doing yours you would know about the midrange series releasing before the flagship card :)
@TheTechSource1 I have a feeling they are definitely going to 700 series. if you look at the nvidia website, they already list a couple midrange 600 series mobile gpus, as available product. Same scenario happened with the 300, but that is speculation all the same :P

And yes if they go through with this, if those points aren't used by the end of the year they'll go away, but I'm sure they'll refund you.

I think I am done with console's, Once I built my gaming pc WOW the graphics are so so sharp. When the 720 comes out it will be PC upgrade or buy a game console, hmm let me think DUHHH of course I will upgrade my PC. A console is a down grade.

Given our current technology it should be much cheaper to produce video game. I have no idea why microsoft is restricting users from selling video games, something is wrong here. @darkworld280 Thank you, these episodes take a decent amount (hours) to film and then it takes Danny a while to edit (which he does an awesome job at). Also its not just filming itself, we also switch the location which requires Danny to drive to my place near Toronto or me to drive to Barrie. There is also the fact we both work full time and we maintain contact with manufacturers. This isn't counting the other things I'm probably forgetting, there is a LOT which goes into making TTS.

News on the Xbox 720 is interesting. It's important to remember that the PS3 and 360 actually did not have the latest and greatest of it's time, the ps3 has something that's a cross between a 7600GT and 7800GT when the 7800GTX existed and the 7900 series was being released at that time. The 360 has a smaller gpu than the one in the PS3 but it was the first to have unified shaders and more effective memory. Both however are severely gimped with the paltry amount or ram and memory bandwidth.
Having a generation of consoles that natively support DX11 and have I would assume decent memory, would make a huge difference especially considering how efficient consoles are compared with PC. At the same time this is only a rumor, MS and Sony have a history of changing specs at the last minute, makes me think they are deliberately providing false intel in order to psych the other side to lowering the bar. We'll see.

what most pc gamers don't understand about consoles is that the games are heavily optimised for that one system and games do look amazing look at god of war 3 uncharted series heavy rain gears of war 3 and so on pc games look good but because we fall prey to phoney gpu and hardware wars the software for games and the drivers are nowhere near as optimised as they could be

If the ps3 had a 6 or 7 core cpu and whatever gpu and can already run all its first party games at 1080p(they look and run better and have far less glitches than most pc games in my opinion) then next gen is just unfathomable

@Niqbal87 GTA 4 played just beautifully maxed out in 09 on my at the time CF Radeon HD 4890 rig and at the very leased PC has far better AA/AF and Skyrim looks shit without mods mods that would bog down the consoles to prob 15fps or less. Forza 4 looks and plays great and is a monumental achievement and is what a console like Xbox is good for.I am not a fan boy I just already owned a PC anyways so I might as well save money instead of buying a slower performing console play toy.
@Niqbal87 still even with optimization, look at GTA iv on pc, then compare to 360, it looks terrible, i cant play anymore, don't get me wrong i love the 360 but come on, use atleast the 6970, play all games for the next 1-2 years on native 1920x1080
@vanhodid i thought it was universally known how bad gta 4 was made for any system. On pc unless you had a dual 480 setup you couldn't get over 30fps. For me i played on ps3 first my only problem with it was the driving but other people noticed many slowsdowns. I also played it on my pc a year ago when i had a i5 650 and a 6850 and couldn't get above 30fps(regardless of) but recently when i got a i5 2500k and same single gpu i noticed that i can get 60fps.

Regarding the xbox 720.... The estimated release date is 2013-14. So a 6670 is REALLY going to SUCK in about a year.

News on the Xbox 720 is interesting. It's important to remember that the PS3 and 360 actually did not have the latest and greatest of it's time, the ps3 has something that's a cross between a 7600GT and 7800GT when the 7800GTX existed and the 7900 series was being released at that time. The 360 has a smaller gpu than the one in the PS3 but it was the first to have unified shaders and more effective memory. Both however are severely gimped with the paltry amount or ram and memory bandwidth.

Having a generation of consoles that natively support DX11 and have I would assume decent memory, would make a huge difference especially considering how efficient consoles are compared with PC. At the same time this is only a rumor, MS and Sony have a history of changing specs at the last minute, makes me think they are deliberately providing false intel in order to psych the other side to lowering the bar. We'll see.

what most pc gamers don't understand about consoles is that the games are heavily optimised for that one system and games do look amazing look at god of war 3 uncharted series heavy rain gears of war 3 and so on pc games look good but because we fall prey to phoney gpu and hardware wars the software for games and the drivers are nowhere near as optimised as they could be

@Luger718A1 i have a 6850 and can max out all games at 1080p at 60fps with my quad core i5 2500k. If the ps3 had a 6 or 7 core cpu and whatever gpu and can already run all its first party games at 1080p(they look and run better and have far less glitches than most pc games in my opinion) then next gen is just unfathomable

First party games are good on consoles because there is a major lack of piracy so devs give the games there all and they all work very well on one type of system. In pc gaming if new gpus were released once every two or 3 years we would see major strides in what could be done.(look on my comment below about gta )

@Niqbal87 GTA 4 played just beautifully maxed out in 09 on my at the time CF Radeon HD 4890 rig and at the very leased PC has far better AA/AF and Skyrim looks shit without mods mods that would bog down the consoles to prob 15fps or less. Forza 4 looks and plays great and is a monumental achievement and is what a console like Xbox is good for.I am not a fan boy I just already owned a PC anyways so I might as well save money instead of buying a slower performing console play toy.

@Niqbal87 still even with optimization, look at GTA iv on pc, then compare to 360, it looks terrible, i cant play anymore, don't get me wrong i love the 360 but come on, use atleast the 6970, play all games for the next 1-2 years on native 1920x1080

@vanhodid i thought it was universally known how bad gta 4 was made for any system. On pc unless you had a dual 480 setup you couldn't get over 30fps. For me i played on ps3 first my only problem with it was the driving but other people noticed many slowsdowns. I also played it on my pc a year ago when i had a i5 650 and a 6850 and couldn't get above 30fps(regardless of) but recently when i got a i5 2500k and same single gpu i noticed that i can get 60fps.
