the tak tak tak is dual injectors they pummp 1500 psi each into the engine for power. i have one of these its too easy to upgrade

@blinkzh there is a oil reserve as large as the ones in middle east on brazil :) before we reach those 10 years, those guys would be able to drill that oil in brazil :P so i think we'll have gasoline cars for at least 50 years

The intake is just in the right spot to aspire the engine hot air ,,wit a set up like that all u can expect is a decres in perform not increase possible, that why u paid more cheaper than a couple of other model

Uh huh, that's part of the reason why I got rid of it. It's pretty much for looks and sound. All of the Short Ram intakes sit with the intake right there next to the exhaust manifold. Unless you're refering to a cold-air intake, which are twice as much, for not being a whole lot better.

@jaaj2 I thought thats what the heat shield was for. Doesn't it help at all? I was thinking of getting a RRM intake.

@jaaj2 If you the K&N setup you will see a big difference. The box its comes with fit nicely while the exciting duct from the front directs air directly into the box. If you have a good ODB 2 scanner which records info from the engine, take the reading before replacing the intake,( inlet temp.) and you will see the difference, while running on the road.

After you installed the intake are you getting any kind of check engine light?

Nope. This intake doesn't cause CELs unless it's not installed properly,

The "tak" noise is normal. All lancer do it, although no one is 100% what it is. It's either the fuel pump, relays, or something with the ignition system preparing the car to start.

The GTS comes in automatic OR stick, whichever you want. The mileage of an evo X??? what does that have to do with anything lol.

I like it, its just perfect for wet moody weather and snow!!! i have the Injen CAI and TRUST ME its a real nightmare to install, you have to take out the batt, and the whole front fender! you have to relocate your oil cooler and struggle with your tools for a while but THE SOUND IS WORTH THE WHILE, SOUNDS VERY LOUD, so loud you can even forget about a cat back exhaust! and boosts the engine from 178 hp to 202.3 hp! (Dyno tested) and sounds real throaty, LANCER 2009 FTW

The 09 lancer has 168, not 178. And it depends on what dyno you use. Although I do hear only good things about the Injen intake, It's definitely better than any of the SRI intakes out there. (If the price tag doesn't bother you)

na just pull it off there are two body clips holding it down on the front of it... anyways you dhould make an intake for a displaced battery... i had to go cheap and use spectre parts... :(

did it reset your mileage for when to get it serviced again or did everything stay the same after u disconnected the battery?

No check engine lights. Yeah, it does reset your settings and your service mileage when you disconnect the battery during the install. Just take note of your current mileage and get it serviced when needed. Let the car run for 10-15 min to relearn the air flow before driving.

It does perform just as well. Just make sure you check out what emissions you get. If you get the cali emissions it will be much slower. Also, I'd recommend the 5spd manual because they're a little faster too.
