the game is very disapointing, i just got most of the way through the campian and if you were to give the weapons a number for the damage done, smgs =1 asalt = 5 = heavy assalt = 7 sniper = 75 explosive = 150, from this u can see the enemies hp, but the last gun does like 1000, but the boss has 100000, so the last boss is pretty damn hard, also still with tons of glitches, less of a sandbox... i wish they just updated the 1st 1 or made it so u can actualy beat the damn game!

im sorry but those stats are wrong, the 4870x2 totally smokes the gtx 280, usually by 10-15 fps not much but on 4AA &very high settings it gets 55FPS gtx 280 gets 40FPS so ATI wins get your facts straight.

Because the GTX 280's architecture was designed by well... a freaking genius! ATI just crams everything they can into a card and hope it flies, in most cases. Go Nvidia! ^_^

well, nvidia also makes video cards with multiple gpu's, ex: 9800gx2. In some games, the gx2 is actually faster than the 280gtx. If nvidia is having trouble developing a faster chip, I'd like to see how a 280gx2 would perform. (I know the gtx290 and 270gx2 are supposed to be coming out soon, but so far, I haven't seen any benchmarks or early testing results)

Well I'm not saying hybrid cards are bad, but the way ATI puts them together is terrible to say the least. If you crammed all the crap they put into theirs, into an Nvidia card and have it designed all smart-like like they did with the 280, then you'd have one beast of a card. But since Nvidia put so much research into their cards they can't put 'fluff' into it like ATI does to help keep it cost-effective.

well, ATI does do things that are smart; they included 2X1gb of gddr5 (instead of gddr3 in the 280) and 800 stream processors per gpu vs 240 total in the 280. At the end of the day, what matters is results, and for the moment, ATI has bragging rights. I myself own 2 X 8800gt in sli, and have no plans to purchase a 4870x2, but I can respect the performance.

ATI boasts the top-dog in hybrid cards. But you CANNOT (I'm sick of people thinking they can do this...) compare a singe-gpu card to a hybrid. That's biased beyond belief... The only reason they can afford to put GDDR5 is cause they didn't have much money in researching costs...Nvidia does.

It's sad because 4870X2 is dual GPU. and GTX280 is single and its barely beating it and sometimes even losing to the 280. When the GTX290/270 GX2's come out then ATI will be on their knees.
